Which Is Better: Crystli or Juno?

Finding a mattress that’s both affordable and comfortable can seem daunting, but quality hybrid options are available, even on a budget. Both Crystli and Juno are medium-firm hybrids with zoned pocketed coils for support and foam for comfort—but only Juno offers a 120-night sleep trial and a 15-year warranty.

At $649 for a queen size, Juno Hybrid is priced slightly higher than Crystli, but offers stronger edge support, longer sleep trial, and additional cooling features. Juno also comes with free shipping, free return pickup with a full refund, and a free bedding bundle with purchase. These features made Juno our clear winner when comparing Crystli vs Juno Hybrid.

Mattress Breakdown

The Juno Hybrid mattress pairs CertiPUR-US®-certified foam, cooling gel foam, zoned pocketed coils, and outstanding edge support for a balanced medium-firm feel. It also comes with a 120-night sleep trial, a 15-year warranty, and a free bedding bundle with your mattress purchase.

While Crystli is advertised as a “memory foam innerspring” mattress, we qualify it as a hybrid because it has more than 2″ of foam above the coil layer. It earned very good motion isolation and high bounce scores, so while your partner may not wake you up when moving, if you’re a light sleeper, it might feel too bouncy.

Crystli ships via Amazon, which allows you to return your mattress within 30 days of purchase for a refund, provided you haven’t unboxed it yet. Crystli comes with an industry-standard 10-year warranty. You’ll have to contact Crystli directly to initiate a return.

Below, we’ve gathered all the information you need to accurately compare Crystli vs Juno to help you choose.

Firmness

In third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), both the Crystli and Juno Hybrid mattresses are categorized as medium-firm, which are suitable for all sleep styles. They each also feature zoned coils for better cushioning under your hips and knees and stronger support for your back.

However, with a firmness score of 5.9/10, the Crystli mattress leans towards the softer end of the medium-firm range. If you sleep on your back or stomach, or prefer a little more support, you may like a slightly firmer mattress like Juno, which scored 6.9/10 for firmness.

Edge Support

Edge support refers to how well the mattress’s sides hold your weight when you sit or lie near the perimeter. In testing, Juno Hybrid earned an outstanding edge support score of 9.3/10.

With an above-average score of 6.5/10, Crystli still allows you to sit on the edge of the mattress or sleep farther away from the middle without sinking into the mattress’s sidewalls. However, if you want the most usable space on your bed, you might prefer Juno Hybrid.

Motion Isolation

Crystli scored 7.4/10 for motion isolation, which is a very good score for a hybrid mattress. You shouldn’t notice most of your partner’s movements when they change sleep positions.

Juno Hybrid scored 5.3/10 for motion isolation, which is average for a hybrid. You may notice some movement if a partner gets into bed, but the foam layers still help soften more abrupt motions.

Bounce

Bounce measures how quickly the mattress surface responds when you move or change positions. Hybrids with coils usually have higher bounce than foam mattresses, which some sleepers prefer for moving around at night. That said, too much bounce can make you feel excessive movement throughout the mattress.

Crystli earned a 7.6/10 for bounce, which is a high score, even for a hybrid mattress. Juno Hybrid received a lower, but still above-average bounce score of 6.2/10, giving it a balanced feel that makes it easy to shift positions without feeling stuck in the surface.

Cooling Features

Crystli isn’t marketed as a cooling mattress, but it still has a few noteworthy features to help you sleep cool at night, like a breathable top cover, open-cell foam, and gel-infused foam. These elements earned Crystli a cooling features score of 3.2/10.

In comparison, Juno earned an even higher score of 4.7/10 for cooling features, thanks to additional features like its Cool+ cover upgrade, which is woven with cooling yarn for a cool-to-the-touch feel.

Both Juno and Crystli are 4-layer hybrid mattresses. Each one features layers of CertiPUR-US® foam and supportive steel coils. While Juno is made in Canada by a Canadian brand, Crystli is made in Malaysia (according to the law label on the mattress we received).

Juno Hybrid Mattress Layers

  • Layer 1: The comfort layer has 2″ of cooling gel foam to offer temperature regulation and gentle cushioning as you lie down.
  • Layer 2: The transition layer is 1″ of foam to improve comfort and cushion sleepers from the denser coil layer below.
  • Layer 3: The support layer features 6″ of individually pocketed coils. The middle 1/3rd of the coils is firmer (i.e. zoned) to give your back and hips the support they need. For added edge support, the coils layer is encased in strong foam that runs the perimeter of the mattress. This layer gives the mattress most of its bulk.
  • Layer 4: The bottom layer is a 1″ foam pad that acts as a base for the pocketed coil layer above.

The standard Juno mattress cover is soft and durably knit for comfort and long-term use. Warm or hot sleepers can choose to upgrade to the Cool+ cover for just $79, which is woven with cooling yarn that wicks away excess heat and moisture all night long.

Because Juno’s top cover isn’t removable, it should be spot-cleaned only with a gentle detergent or baking soda. Luckily, every Juno mattress also comes with a free bedding bundle, including a mattress protector to guard your bed from spills and stains and keep it fresh for the long haul.

Crystli Mattress Layers

  • Layer 1: The top layer is 0.5″ of open-cell memory foam infused with “pressure-relieving” gel. This layer conforms the most to your body’s shape while you’re lying down and dissipates your body heat.
  • Layer 2: The middle layer is 1″ of “Anti-Fire” foam. This layer is claimed to be coated with “fireproof substances.” Crystli doesn’t specify what these substances are or how they provide fireproof benefits.
  • Layer 3: The support layer is 1″ of high-density foam. This layer stops you from sinking too deeply into the mattress.
  • Layer 4: The last layer is 7″ individually wrapped pocketed steel coils. This support layer provides extra support under the hips and shoulders, as well as offering a bit of bounce while limiting motion transfer.

Crystli has a Euro-top cover that contains the rest of the mattress’s 0.5″ height in foam batting. The brand’s website describes the cover’s Super Stretch Fabric as “natural and breathable,” but according to the mattress’s law label, it’s made of 100% polyester. Polyester is good at wicking moisture, but isn’t always the most breathable material. Crystli’s cover isn’t removable and should be spot-cleaned only.
