2. Original Hamuq Hybrid
Hybrid Mattress with Limited Features
Product Details
Original Hamuq Hybrid is a pillow-top hybrid mattress. It stands 12″ tall and has a medium-firm feel, according to third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us). The mattress is made in Canada using Canadian materials.
Hamuq features cooling gel foam, individually wrapped pocket coils, zoned support, and perforations to add pressure-point relief and breathability. Hamuq scored well in third-party engineer testing, with good scores for edge support and motion isolation. The mattress cover is not removable or machine-washable. Any stains must be spot-cleaned only.
While Hamuq has a number of features, it lacks some of the advanced cooling features you might expect from a hybrid mattress. It also has very few customer reviews outside of the company website. This makes it difficult to guess what your own experience might be like. In addition, some Trustpilot reviews complain of difficulty with returns and warranty claims.
Is Original Hamuq Hybrid right for you?
The Hamuq mattress might be the right fit for you are a side, back, or stomach sleeper who wants:
- A hybrid mattress for under $1,000
- Layers of cooling gel and pocket coils
- Organic materials in the top cover
- Convenient online ordering and delivery
3. Silk & Snow
Plush Hybrid Mattress
Product Details
S&S Hybrid has a 12″ profile with two foam layers and one coil layer. This mattress has a medium level of firmness. It feels comfortable when you first lie down and has a subtle “hug,” while deeper pressure reveals the supportive pocketed coils underneath. It also offers a range of features for comfort, cooling, and support.
Priced at $900 for a queen size, S&S Hybrid costs about the same as other popular Canadian hybrid mattress brands like Logan & Cove. That said, S&S Hybrid has a shorter sleep trial and fewer layers than these competing hybrid mattresses. Its construction also doesn’t include micro-coils like many other hybrid mattresses.
If you prefer a slightly softer option with a longer sleep trial, consider Logan & Cove Choice instead.
Is the S&S Hybrid Mattress right for you?
The Silk & Snow Hybrid mattress might be the right fit if you are a side or back sleeper who wants:
- To spend less than $1,000 on a queen-size mattress
- A hybrid mattress with a medium-firm feel
- Zoned coil support for body contouring
- Cooling gel and memory foam
- CertiPUR-US® certified foams
- A Euro-top mattress cover (not machine washable)
- Free delivery to major metro areas
4. Haven LUX Hybrid
Hybrid Pillow-Top Latex Mattress
Product Details
Haven LUX Hybrid is a hybrid mattress available online via Haven Sleep Co’s website. It comes in two firmness options: Classic Plush (firm) and Classic + Advanced Pressure Relief (medium). Its layer construction includes foam and coil layers, meant to provide additional support if you’re the kind of sleeper who needs it. For this review, we ordered the Medium version.
Haven LUX Hybrid stands 14″ tall, with the pocket coil layer and micro coil layer accounting for 10″ of that height. The remaining four layers, not including the quilted mattress cover, are less than 1″ thick each. While these layers should work together to provide comfort and support, they may not be thick enough to provide all of the contouring, cooling, and spine-aligning features that Haven promotes.
This mattress offers very good motion isolation and an above-average level of bounce. However, edge support is lower than average for a hybrid. This is surprising given Haven LUX Hybrid’s reinforced foam edges.
Is Haven LUX Hybrid right for you?
The Haven mattress might be the right fit if you are a back or stomach sleeper who wants:
- A natural latex mattress
- A springy pillow-top mattress with lots of bounce
- Micro-coils and pocketed coils
- Copper-infused, perforated, and cooling gel foams
5. Avocado Green
Expensive Organic Mattress
Product Details
In Canada, the Avocado Green mattress comes in two firmness options: Standard (firm) and Medium. The Medium feel is achieved by adding a pillow-top to the mattress for an extra $300–600, depending on the mattress size.
Avocado Green is made by hand, and its eco-conscious manufacturing process features GOLS-certified organic latex, wool, and cotton. However, some materials are still imported. International transportation will still affect the mattress’s carbon footprint.
This mattress lacks advanced cooling and other features found in many modern hybrid mattresses. It also doesn’t come with a mattress cover. Avocado recommends using its Organic Cotton Mattress Pad Protector, which will add $349–549 to the cost of the mattress, depending on size. This mattress cover is machine-washable.
Avocado Green is available online in sizes ranging from twin to California king, with prices between $1,999 and $3,699 (depending on which size and firmness option you order).
This price point is much higher than many other hybrids, even when taking into account its handmade and eco-conscious construction. In contrast, competing hybrid mattress Logan & Cove Choice costs just $999 for a queen size. Logan & Cove also offers a free bedding bundle with purchase, which Avocado doesn’t provide.
Is Avocado Green right for you?
The Avocado Green mattress might be the right fit if you are a stomach or back sleeper who wants:
- Multiple firmness options
- A mattress using GOTS and GOLS certified materials
- Convenient online purchasing and boxed delivery
- A longer-than-average sleep trial and warranty
6. Endy Hybrid
Hybrid Mattress with Significant Sink
Product Details
Endy Hybrid is a medium-firm mattress with a fair amount of sinkage, which is great if you enjoy being cradled by your mattress. However, if you weigh more than 115 lbs or sleep on your stomach, you might find yourself sinking too much and feel discomfort from improper spinal alignment.
Motion isolation is good and thicker steel coils in the centre of the mattress offer extra support to the lower-back area. The Endy Hybrid features zoned pocketed coils but lacks cooling gel foam, high-density memory foam, or a pillow top—features many customers prioritize.
Is Endy Hybrid right for you?
The Endy Hybrid mattress might be the right fit if you are a side or back sleeper who wants:
- A queen-size mattress for less than $1,500
- A plush hybrid mattress with zoned support
- A 13″ Canadian-made mattress
- CertiPur-US® certified foams
- Free shipping to major metro areas

Entry-Level Hybrid Mattress
Product Details

Though its cover features a blend of polyester, rayon, and 1% cashmere for breathability, it isn’t machine washable and may require extra care to protect against spills or stains.

Memory Foam Mattress with Micro-Coils
Product Details
Shipping Cost
Free shipping on orders over $75
Simba 2500 is the brand’s mid-range hybrid mattress at $2,199 for a queen size. The mattress does offer features like a hypoallergenic mattress cover, graphite-infused foam, and micro-coils. However, it’s missing premium features that would justify its higher price tag, like zoned support and temperature control.
This plush mattress allows you to sink in for a full-body “hugging” sensation. Simba’s layers include memory foam, pocketed micro-coils, polyurethane foam, and support foam. It’s important to note that the mattress cover isn’t machine washable.
The mattress is backed by a 100-night sleep trial. However, you won’t get a refund if you return the mattress before the trial ends. You can only exchange Simba 2500 for another Sleep Country mattress, which requires a $50 exchange fee.
Is Simba 2500 right for you?
The Simba 2500 mattress might be the right fit if you are a side sleeper who wants:
- A queen-size mattress for less than $2,000
- A soft mattress with lots of “hug”

9. Casper Wave Hybrid
Hybrid Mattress with Zoned Support
Product Details
Casper Wave Hybrid uses latex, foam, coils, and gel pods for a cool yet supportive sleep. This mattress has a medium feel with good motion isolation and zoned support.
While you might have an easier time moving around in bed due to its moderate bounce, it has below-average edge support, so you’ll likely experience difficulty getting in or out. The Casper Wave Hybrid mattress may not be strong enough to hold your weight if you sleep close to the edge, either.
Despite its strong cooling and support features, the mattress seems to lack in comparison to other luxury mattresses that offer similar quality at a lower price point.
Is Casper Wave Hybrid right for you?
The Casper Wave Hybrid mattress might be the right fit if you are a side, back, or stomach sleeper who wants:

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a hybrid mattress?
A hybrid mattress combines innerspring layers with foam or latex for a perfect balance of contouring and support. Hybrid mattresses normally offer lower temperatures than memory foam mattresses, as well as a slightly firmer feel than most all-foam mattresses.
What’s the best hybrid mattress for my sleep style?
The best hybrid mattress for side sleepers, stomach sleepers, and back sleepers is Logan & Cove Choice. This mattress’s perfectly medium-firm feel is comfortable for any sleep style.
Logan & Cove Choice also combines foam layers and individually wrapped coils to provide plenty of contouring and support, which keeps your spine properly aligned while you sleep.
What’s the best hybrid mattress for back pain?
Logan & Cove Choice is the best hybrid mattress for back pain. It has a medium-firm feel that’s comfortable for most sleepers, even if you have upper or lower back pain. This level of firmness helps distribute your weight across the entire sleep surface to relieve any pressure points for a more restful night’s sleep.
What other types of mattresses are there?
Hybrid is one of several types of mattresses. These categories could also be a good fit for you:
- Memory Foam: Memory foam mattresses like Octave “hug” your body to relieve pressure and keep your spine aligned. They usually have good motion isolation, which is good for couples. While memory foam is known for trapping heat, Octave is actually our pick for best cooling mattress with advanced features like a cooling nanofibre cover, copper-infused memory foam treated with PolarMAX® phase-change material, and multi-zone support foam with air channels.
- Cooling Gel Foam: If you find normal memory foam too hot, cooling gel foam mattresses like Douglas are a great alternative. This mattress type combines memory foam with cooling gel, giving you all the comfort of a memory foam mattress without any of the extra heat. This type of foam also sinks faster because it has a lower density than memory foam.
- Latex: Natural or synthetic latex mattresses can relieve pressure in any sleep position. They have a reputation for comfortable temperatures and can last longer than other types of mattresses. However, latex mattresses can also be more expensive and may not be ideal for some people with latex allergies.
- Innerspring: Innerspring mattresses support your weight with metal coils. This gives you plenty of bounce and a good amount of edge support so you can comfortably sit on the edge of the mattress. However, if your body needs more contouring support, a foam mattress may be a better choice.
What should I look for when choosing a mattress?
When you’re shopping for a mattress, it’s important to consider more than just how comfortable it is. There are a whole range of factors to keep in mind.
- Budget: Set a budget for your new mattress and stick to it. You might even be able to make this budget go further by finding limited-time deals and promotions online.
- Construction: Figure out whether you’d like an innerspring, foam, or hybrid mattress. There are pros and cons for each construction style, and knowing what you want will help narrow down your options.
- Firmness: Choose a mattress with the right firmness level for your sleep style—that is, whether you sleep on your side, back, or stomach. For example, side sleepers often want a softer mattress, while back sleepers may prefer something firmer. (Did you know that a medium-firm feel is ideal for most sleep styles? Get our guide to the best medium-firm mattresses.)
- Motion Isolation: Pay close attention to motion isolation if you share your bed with a partner, kids, or pets. The higher the isolation score, the less you’ll notice movement from the other side of the bed.
- Edge Support: Are you in the habit of sitting or sleeping near the edge of the bed? Look for a mattress with good edge support so you feel supported in any position.
- Bounce: If you have trouble getting out of bed in the morning, you might prefer a mattress with extra bounce. (Your inner child will enjoy it, too!)
- Contouring: Contouring materials like memory foam help support your body in all the right places. That said, too much “hug” can cause overheating and make it hard to move, so find the level of contouring that’s best for your body.
- Temperature: Speaking of overheating—if you’re a warm sleeper, look for a mattress that promotes airflow and reduces heat. Octave Vista is a great choice with its cooling nanofibre cover, copper-infused memory foam treated with phase-change material for temperature balance, and multi-zone support foam with air channels.
- Responsiveness: A responsive mattress allows you to change positions without feeling stuck. Often found in hybrid designs, a responsive mattress can help you enjoy certain activities in bed even more.
- Noise: Nobody likes a squeaky or crinkly mattress. Get a quiet night’s sleep with a mattress made from noise-quieting materials like foam or latex.
- Company Policies: Get details about the manufacturer’s sleep trial, return policy, and product warranty so you know what you’re getting into.
