Douglas offers a 365-night sleep trial with your mattress purchase. After trying the mattress for at least 30 days, you can return it for a full refund at any time during the sleep trial window.
Returned Douglas mattresses are donated to nearby community organizations or picked up by a local recycling partner, depending on regional restrictions.
In third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), all three Douglas mattresses earned firmness scores consistent with a medium-firm feel. This level of firmness is ideal for all sleep styles, whether you sleep on your side, back, or stomach.
The Douglas foam mattress is made in Canada, with manufacturing facilities in Ontario and Alberta.
Douglas offers a 20-year warranty for their mattresses. The Douglas mattress warranty covers repair or replacement in case of manufacturer errors.
Yes. The machine-washable top cover has a 360° zipper for easy removal. Run it through the washing machine on a gentle cycle, then air dry or tumble dry on low. When the cover is dry, you can reattach it to the bottom cover in seconds without having to lift or move the mattress.
The Douglas Original and Douglas Alpine are made with the same foam layers. The Douglas Alpine has slightly thicker layers to provide more pressure-point relief and motion isolation. For added cooling, the cooling gel layer is enhanced with a phase-change material to better absorb and disperse heat.
Both Douglas Summit and Douglas Original have layers of cooling gel foam, open-cell Elastex® foam, and motion isolation support foam. That said, Summit has thicker foam layers to give the mattress an extra two inches of height. Summit’s cooling gel foam has also been treated with phase-change material and the machine-washable cover is woven with cooling nanofibres. This gives Summit a higher cooling features score than Douglas Original.
