Which Is Better: Dormeo or Logan & Cove?

Dormeo and Logan & Cove are both mattresses with an innerspring system available in Canada, but the similarities end there. Dormeo One features “Octasprings”—Dormeo’s foam-based spring system—to offer comfort and support. While this patented technology is interesting, it’s not clear why the mattress costs $3,699 for a queen size.

In comparison, Logan & Cove Frontier offers a luxury sleep experience complete with layers of cooling gel foam, micro coils, responsive and breathable Elastex® foam, and individually pocketed coils. The quilted top cover is made up of more cooling gel foam, hollow fibre fill, and cooling nanofibres for a refreshing sleep. Dormeo is a firm mattress with good edge support and motion isolation, but Logan & Cove Frontier offers more. Firmness

When tested for firmness by third-party engineers (commissioned by us), Dormeo One received a score of 7.3/10, placing it in the firm category. While the Sleep Country website describes Dormeo One as a firm mattress, Dormeo’s website says it has a medium feel. Stomach and back sleepers might find this mattress comfortable, but side sleepers may notice discomfort and pressure points.

Logan & Cove Frontier is designed to be a medium-firm mattress, and fell right in this range according to engineer testing. With a score of 6.3/10, Frontier is well-suited for stomach, back, and side sleepers alike. Logan & Cove’s hybrid design combines supportive metal springs, responsive micro coils, and a soft, plush top cover, providing an ideal balance of comfort and support for a great night’s sleep.

Edge Support

Logan & Cove Frontier and Dormeo One both performed well when it came to edge support. Thanks to its reinforced foam sidewalls, Frontier earned an edge support score of 7.3/10. Dormeo One also received an impressive edge support score of 9.3/10, likely due to its firm feel. You should have no trouble sitting or sleeping on the edge of either mattress.

Motion Isolation

If you sleep with a partner, pet, or child, getting a mattress with good motion isolation is key for restful sleep. While hybrid mattresses and foam mattresses often provide different levels of motion isolation, both Logan & Cove Frontier and Dormeo One scored well. Logan & Cove earned a motion isolation score of 7.0/10, and Dormeo One performed similarly with a score of 7.2/10. You should be able to enjoy an undisturbed sleep with either mattress.

Bounce

Low bounce is good news if you’re a light sleeper who’s easily woken. Dormeo One scored a 5.5/10 for bounce, which is average for a foam mattress. Logan & Cove Frontier earned a slightly lower bounce score of 4.8/10 giving you a more consistent sleep surface for a more restful sleep.

Cooling Features

Both Dormeo One and Logan & Cove Frontier offer some cooling features to help regulate temperatures throughout the night. Dormeo features a phase-change TENCEL™ mattress cover to absorb moisture and dissipate heat. This mattress’s cover, in addition to its Octaspring technology that allows for more airflow than traditional foam, contributed to its cooling feature score of 1.7/10.

Despite being almost a third of the price of Dormeo One, Logan & Cove Frontier earned a much higher cooling feature score of 4.7/10. This score is thanks to the mattress’s cool and breathable top cover, moisture-wicking nanofibres, layer of ecoLuxe® cooling gel foam, breathable latex-like Elastex® foam, and layers of individually pocketed coils and micro coils.

Mattress Construction

Both Dormeo One and Logan & Cove Frontier have coiled innerspring systems, but only Frontier’s coils are made from durable steel. In fact, we consider Dormeo One a foam mattress, seeing as its springs are made from polyurethane foam. It’s unclear how much support these “springs” will offer over a long period of time.

Logan & Cove Frontier Mattress Layers

• Layer 1: The first layer is 1″ of breathable hollow fibre fill and cooling gel-infused foam. It’s quilted directly under the Euro-top cover, providing a degree of plushness and directly dissipating your body heat when you’re lying down.
• Layer 2: The second is 1″ of ecoLuxe® cooling gel foam that provides gentle cushioning and targeted relief for your shoulders, hips, and knees. It also helps control excess body heat for a cooler, more comfortable sleep.
• Layer 3: This layer features 1″ of aeroduct micro-coils to help keep temperatures down and provide extra body-contouring support. The coils are arranged to help air circulate across the entire mattress.
• Layer 4: This 1.5″ layer of Elastex® foam contours around your body, providing comfort for any sleeping position.
• Layer 5: The support layer contains 9″ of individually wrapped steel pocketed coils. The coils are strategically placed in a three-zone system across the mattress, giving you excellent contoured support.

Logan & Cove’s plush top cover makes up the rest of the mattress’s height. Its hollow-fibre fill and gel foam infusion make for a cool and comfortable top mattress layer. Although Frontier’s top cover isn’t removable, the company will send you a free bedding bundle with your purchase, including a mattress protector, so you can keep your mattress fresh and safe from any spills or stains.

Dormeo One Mattress Layers

• Layer 1: The top (comfort) layer is 1″ of Dormeo’s recovery foam, a type of polyurethane memory foam that contours to the shape of your body as you lie on the mattress.
• Layer 2: The middle (transition) layer is 3″ thick. It consists of 2″ Octasprings sandwiched between 0.5″ foam sheets. Dormeo says these “springs” are designed to move in three dimensions to conform to your body and provide pressure-point relief. While this is a unique feature, it doesn’t seem to offer more value than traditional metal coils.
• Layer 3: The bottom (support) layer is 7″ of dense polyurethane support foam. This foundation maintains the mattress’s structure and support, ensuring you won’t sink too far into the upper layers.

Despite having a zipper, Dormeo’s top cover is not removable or machine washable. Dormeo’s mattress cover is made of polyester, rayon, and spandex. Sleep Country states that the cover contains phase-change material and TENCEL™, but the law label doesn’t list either material.

Neither Dormeo nor Logan & Cove have removable or machine-washable covers. We recommend spot-cleaning both of these mattresses.

Delivery, Sleep Trial & Returns

Dormeo and Logan & Cove both deliver their mattresses across Canada straight to your door. Logan & Cove will ship for free to most locations in Canada in 2–11 business days, while Dormeo ships for free through Sleep Country on orders over $75 in 3–10 business days. With both companies, remote delivery locations may incur extra shipping time or fees.

Logan & Cove will be delivered wrapped in heavy-duty plastic and packaged in a cardboard box for convenience. Once opened, your Logan & Cove will inflate in a couple of minutes. Dormeo will be delivered already inflated to your door and wrapped in plastic.

Your sleep trial will begin on the day you receive your mattress. For Dormeo, you’ll receive a 100-night sleep trial through Sleep Country. However, if you decide to return your mattress, you won’t receive a full refund. For a $65 fee, you’ll be allowed to do a one-time exchange for in-store credit. If you want to purchase a more expensive mattress, you’ll have to pay the difference. You’ll also be responsible for bringing the mattress back to the store yourself, as Sleep Country doesn’t offer return pickups.

Logan & Cove, on the other hand, offers a 365-night trial to ensure you love your mattress. If your mattress isn’t the right fit, you can return it anytime during your sleep trial for a full refund. Logan & Cove will have the mattress picked up from your house for free and have it donated to one of their charity partners or responsibly recycled.

Dormeo offers a 10-year warranty on their mattress to cover manufacturing defects. They also offer a separate warranty on Dormeo One’s cover that is just 1 year long. Logan & Cove mattresses, on the other hand, come with a 15-year warranty.

Many customers have found Sleep Country’s return policy unsatisfactory, as seen in reviews on platforms like Trustpilot and BBB. Customers have also complained about issues with delivery and customer service. Logan & Cove’s parent company is rated “A+” on BBB, and “Excellent” on Trustpilot—a good sign that customers are satisfied with their purchases.
