Octave provides numerous advanced cooling features like a CryoFusion™ cooling nanofibre mattress cover and copper-infused memory foam treated with PolarMAX® phase-change material. Its five-zoned support foam layer also provides targeted pressure-point relief where you need it most. The mattress is much more affordably priced than Chill Trio Dione at just $899 for a queen size and comes with a longer 365-night sleep trial and a 15-year warranty.

In comparison, Sealy Posturepedic Optimum Chill Trio Dione has fewer cooling features—only a cooling gel memory foam layer and a cooling cover. The mattress is priced at $3,299 for a queen size. The Sealy mattress only comes with a 100-night sleep trial and a 10-year warranty.

Firmness

In third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), Octave Vista scored 6.8/10 for firmness. Sealy Posturepedic Optimum Chill Trio Dione scored a little lower at 6.2/10.

Both mattresses fall into the medium-firm category. Medium-firm mattresses are ideal for all sleep styles, meaning you should find this level of firmness comfortable whether you sleep on your back, side, or stomach.

Edge Support

Foam mattresses aren’t typically known for having high edge support. Good edge support is important if you like sitting up or lounging on the side of your bed, tend to sleep closer to the edge or need extra stability for getting in and out of bed, especially if you or your partner has mobility challenges.

However, both Octave and Sealy performed well in this regard. Octave Vista scored 7.5/10 for edge support, a very good score, and Chill Trio Dione scored 8.5/10, an excellent score. Either mattress will allow you to sit comfortably on the edge of the bed, and you should have no trouble getting out of bed in the morning.

Motion Isolation

Motion isolation helps you enjoy a good night’s sleep without being disturbed by a restless partner, kids, or pets. Both Chill Trio Dione and Octave Vista scored very well for motion isolation. The Chill Trio Dione scored 7.1/10. Octave Vista scored a slightly higher score of 7.3/10. Either mattress should contribute to an undisturbed sleep.

Bounce

Bounce is a matter of personal preference. Low bounce is a good thing if you’re a light sleeper who’s easily woken, while higher bounce is ideal if you often change sleep positions.

All-foam mattresses typically score low for bounce. Chill Trio Dione earned a bounce score of 2.9/10. This is below-average for a foam mattress. If you’re looking for more spring and responsiveness, consider Octave Vista with its higher bounce score of 3.7/10.

Cooling Features

Foam can be known to trap heat, so most modern foam mattresses incorporate cooling features to help ensure breathability and airflow. Octave achieves this by incorporating several advanced cooling features such as CryoFusion™ cooling nanofibres in the mattress cover, PolarMAX® phase-change material, a layer of CopperGel™ infused memory foam, and breathable Elastex® foam. These elements earned Octave Vista a cooling features score of 7.2/10. 

Sealy Posturepedic Chill Trio Dione, also a foam mattress, received a cooling features score of just 2.4/10. Despite being promoted as a cooling mattress, it only has two known cooling features, which include the mattress cover made with cooling yarn, and a layer of gel-infused memory foam.

Copper is also an antimicrobial metal and helps promote a clean, fresh sleep surface while transferring heat away from your body.
• Layer 2: Vista’s transition layer is 2″ of premium Elastex® foam, which is designed to be breathable and responsive. This specialized foam layer has the same springy feel as natural latex with the same pressure-relieving feel. The added bounce also makes it easier for you to change sleep positions.
• Layer 3: The support layer is 8″ of high-density foam divided into a unique five-zoned support system. This layer provides contouring support for your body, with added support beneath your back, hips, and knees. This innovative design reduces discomfort and stiffness while caring for your body and aiding in its natural recovery.

Octave Vista’s top cover is infused with CryoFusion™ cooling nanofibres, providing a cooler surface. This fabric wicks away moisture from your body throughout the night, and is machine washable for easy cleaning.

Sealy Posturepedic Optimum Chill Trio Dione Mattress Layers

• Layer 1: The top (comfort) layer is 3″ of cooling gel memory foam. This layer shapes itself around your body as you lie down.
• Layer 2: The bottom (support) layer is 8″ of higher-density foam. In addition to acting as the mattress’s foundation, the rigidity of this layer prevents you from sinking too far into the mattress.

Sealy Posturepedic Optimum Chill Trio Dione has a top cover containing cooling yarn, which is meant to absorb and dissipate heat. Although the cover has a zipper, it isn’t machine washable. You’ll need to spot-treat any spills or stains.

If you buy Sealy Posturepedic Optimum Chill Trio Dione from Sleep Country (like we did), it ships for free and your order should arrive within 3–10 business days, including dispatch and delivery time. It arrives fully expanded. You can choose between standard delivery or upgraded Green Glove Delivery, which includes moving the mattress to a specific room, setting up the mattress, and removing your old mattress and any packaging.

It’s worth noting that Chill Trio Dione can also be purchased from Best Buy and Walmart, but the order will still be fulfilled by Sleep Country.

Octave provides a generous 365-night sleep trial so you can try the mattress at home. If you choose to return your mattress within the trial period, Octave will pick up returns for free and provide a full refund.

In comparison, the Sealy mattress comes with a much shorter sleep trial of just 100 nights. If you want to return your Sealy mattress during the sleep trial, you’ll have to bring it back to the store yourself. You also won’t receive a full refund, only store credit—minus a $65 exchange fee.

Sealy provides a 10-year mattress warranty. This warranty length is standard for the mattress industry. However, Octave has a much longer 15-year warranty.
