Edge Support

Foam mattresses aren’t generally known for good edge support, but Douglas sets itself apart with an exceptional edge support score of 7.8/10. Thanks to Douglas’s all-around sidewalls, you can comfortably sit or lie on the bed’s edge without any fears of tumbling over.

Looking at the Casper mattress vs Endy, the Endy mattress has above-average edge support at 7.3/10. However, this score is still lower than Douglas’s. The Casper mattress has the lowest edge support score of the three—just 5.0/10.

Motion Isolation

If you’re looking for a foam mattress with exceptional motion isolation, your search is over. In rating Endy vs Douglas vs Casper for motion isolation, Douglas is the best choice with a remarkable motion isolation score of 8.3/10. This means you can enjoy a good night’s sleep without being disturbed by a restless partner, kids, or pets when they decide to join you in bed.

Endy has a motion isolation score of 7.4/10 and the Casper mattress earned 7.1/10. Both scores are good, but they just don’t measure up to Douglas. If you value uninterrupted sleep, Douglas is your best bet.

Bounce

Low bounce is good news if you’re a light sleeper who’s easily woken. Comparing the Endy mattress vs Casper, Endy scored a 5.5/10 for bounce, while Casper mattress earned a lower 4.8/10. Douglas has the lowest bounce rating of all three mattresses at 3.1/10—a nice side effect of its excellent motion isolation.

Douglas, Endy, and Casper are all combination foam mattresses containing three layers for comfort, transition, and support.

Douglas Mattress Layers

  • Layer 1: The 2″ top layer of the Douglas mattress is made of ecoLight® cooling gel foam. It’s just as durable, comfortable, and body-contouring as memory foam, minus the late-night heat. It’s also more eco-conscious.
  • Layer 2: The 2″ middle layer is made of Elastex® foam for extra spring and support. This foam is latex-free, making it a good option if you’re sensitive to latex.
  • Layer 3: The 6″ bottom layer is made of motion isolation support foam. This means you’ll hardly feel a thing from the other side of the bed, even if your partner is tossing and turning all night long.

Endy Mattress Layers

  • Layer 1: The 2″ comfort layer is made of Endy Comfort Foam, which provides some “hug” with a fair bit of sink. Endy also claims that the foam’s open-cell design improves airflow and keeps you cool while you sleep.
  • Layer 2: The 3″ transition layer of foam helps provide pressure relief for a more comfortable, tension-free sleep.
  • Layer 3: The 5″ support layer is designed to reduce motion transfer. This is important if you’re a light sleeper and your partner tosses and turns in their sleep.

Casper Mattress Layers

  • Layer 1: The comfort layer has 1″ of open-cell polyurethane foam, which is perforated for extra airflow. Casper claims this keeps you comfortable and helps control your body temperature while you’re lying down.
  • Layer 2: The transition layer has 2″ of memory foam with zoned support. This means the middle of the mattress is reinforced to handle the weight of your hips, which helps keep the mattress from sagging over time.
  • Layer 3: The support layer contains 7″ of polyurethane support foam. This layer helps the mattress stay structured and supportive so you don’t sink too far into the upper layers.

When MattressReviews.ca contacted Endy, they declined to share any composition or density details about Endy Comfort Foam, other than saying it’s 100% polyurethane. Douglas, however, is open about its mattress construction and 2.5 lbs/ft³ foam density.

Endy and Douglas both have a machine-washable top cover. However, only Douglas has a cover made with plant-based Infinitex™ fibres. This proprietary fabric is stretch-knit, soft, and extremely durable. It also stays cool and breathable through the night so you won’t wake up in a pool of sweat.

Although the knit Casper mattress cover has a zipper, the company instructs you not to unzip the mattress cover and remove it for any reason. This means the cover is not machine-washable and is spot-clean only. Casper also declined to share any details about the mattress’s foam density.

When comparing Endy vs Casper vs Douglas, the three mattresses offer similar delivery and return. Both Endy and Douglas ship by ground using FedEx, while Casper uses UPS. Your mattress is delivered directly to your door throughout most parts of Canada. Additional fees may apply for some remote locations. Casper notes on its website that it can only ship accessories to the Canadian Territories at this time.

Douglas ships from Ontario or Alberta with a shipping time of 3–10 business days. Endy ships from Ontario or Alberta in 1–7 business days. It’s unclear from where Casper ships its mattresses, or how long it takes, but Casper also sells through select retail locations in Canada.

All three companies ship their mattresses in cardboard boxes, protected by two layers of heavy-duty plastic. Once unrolled, the mattresses fully expand within a few minutes. All three mattresses are sleep-ready on delivery day.

Douglas, Endy, and Casper will pick up returns for free within the sleep trial period and issue a full refund. Simply contact the customer service team to coordinate your return. All three companies will donate your returned mattress to a local charity in your area.

But when you’re comparing sleep trial and warranty for Casper vs Endy vs Douglas, there’s a clear winner. Douglas’s 365-night sleep trial is one of the longest in Canada, while Endy and Casper only offer the industry-average 100-night trial. Douglas also comes with a 20-year warranty, considerably longer than Endy’s 15-year warranty and Casper’s 10-year policy.
