The Juno mattress contains 2 layers of foam. This is common for many contemporary foam mattresses that aim to balance comfort and support.

  • Layer 1: The comfort layer consists of 2″ of full-body cooling gel foam, giving you contoured comfort and a cool night’s sleep. It has a foam density of 2.5 lb/ft³.
  • Layer 2: The support layer is 6″ of total support foam, which makes the mattress feel firmer, provides extra edge support, and reduces motion transfer from the other side of the bed. Its foam density is 1.85 lb/ft³.

Juno’s cover design pays tribute to the classic striped wool socks that have been a staple in Canadian wardrobes for generations. The grey-white-and-berry pattern is crafted from polyester and viscose materials, with a prominent berry-coloured stripe along one end of the mattress. This cover isn’t removable and should be spot-cleaned only.

Mattress Performance Results

6.0 /10

Firmness

In third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), Juno scored 6.0/10 for firmness. This means Juno falls into the medium-firm category, which is a favourite feel for many Canadians. It’s also ideal for all sleep positions because it provides a good balance of comfort and support.

8.0 /10

Edge Support

The higher a mattress’s edge support score, the better it supports your weight while sitting or lying along the edge. Compared to innerspring and hybrid mattresses, foam mattresses typically have lower edge support.

Our third-party engineers rated Juno’s edge support at 8.0/10 based on their testing, an above-average score, which means you shouldn’t have any trouble getting out of bed in the morning.

6.2 /10

Motion Isolation

Motion isolation refers to whether or not movement on one part of the mattress can be felt elsewhere on the mattress. Foam mattresses generally provide excellent motion isolation, making them a go-to favourite for couples—especially if one person is a restless sleeper. Our third-party testers give Juno an above-average performance rating of 6.2/10.

2.5 /10

Bounce

Foam mattresses often have very high motion isolation scores, which results in low bounce ratings. A mattress with high bounce has a springy surface, while a lower bounce score is less responsive to movement. According to third-party testing, the Juno mattress rated 2.5/10 for bounce. That’s good news if you’re looking for movement-free sleep.

Cooling Features

While the Juno mattress isn’t advertised as a cooling mattress, it does have some cooling features that make it ideal for people on a budget. With the optional Cool+ cover upgrade, Juno earns points for its:

  1. Cooling cover crafted from special cooling yarn, which keeps surface temperatures low for a cooler touch
  2. Layer of cooling gel foam that allows for enhanced airflow and reduces heat buildup

Juno is recognized for its affordable price point, not for its cooling features. If you’re looking for a cooling mattress on a budget, consider Octave Vista instead at just $899 for a queen size.
