The Juno Hybrid mattress contains 4 interior layers. 3 of these layers are foam, and 1 layer is made with supportive metal coils. All foam used is CertiPUR-US® certified.

  • Layer 1: The comfort layer has 2″ of cooling gel foam to offer temperature regulation and gentle cushioning as you lie down.
  • Layer 2: The transition layer is 1″ of foam to improve comfort and cushion sleepers from the denser coil layer below.
  • Layer 3: The support layer features 6″ of individually pocketed coils. The middle 1/3rd of the coils is firmer (i.e. zoned) to give your back and hips the support they need. For added edge support, the coils layer is encased in strong foam that runs the perimeter of the mattress. This layer gives the mattress most of its bulk.
  • Layer 4: The bottom layer is a 1″ foam pad that acts as a base for the pocketed coil layer above.

Juno’s cover design pays tribute to the classic striped wool socks that have been a staple in Canadian wardrobes for generations. The grey-white-and-berry pattern is crafted from polyester and viscose materials, with a prominent berry-coloured stripe along one end of the mattress. The cover isn’t removable and should be spot-cleaned only.

Mattress Performance Results

6.9 /10

Firmness

In third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), Juno Hybrid scored 6.9/10 for firmness. This places the mattress in the medium-firm range, leaning slightly to the firmer side. A medium-firm feel is generally comfortable for most sleepers because it offers a mix of cushioning and support that can work for side, back, and stomach positions.

(Want a mattress with a touch more cushioning? Try the Juno Foam mattress, which scored 6.0/10 for firmness.)

9.3 /10

Edge Support

Edge support refers to how well the sides of the mattress hold your weight when you sit or lie near the perimeter. Juno Hybrid uses a pocketed coil core with foam along the sidewalls to reinforce the edges.

In testing, Juno Hybrid earned an edge support score of 9.3/10, which is outstanding for a hybrid mattress. This will make it a breeze to get in and out of bed, and is a plus if you like to sit on the edge of your mattress.

5.3 /10

Motion Isolation

Motion isolation describes how well a mattress keeps movement from transferring to the other side of the bed. Juno Hybrid scored 5.3/10 for motion isolation, which is average for a hybrid. This means you may notice some movement if a partner gets into bed, but the foam layers still help soften more abrupt motions.

(If motion isolation is a priority for you, check out the Juno Foam mattress instead. It earned a higher motion isolation score of 6.2/10.)

6.2 /10

Bounce

Bounce measures how quickly the mattress surface responds when you move or change positions. Hybrids with coils usually have higher bounce than foam mattresses, which some sleepers prefer for moving around at night. Juno Hybrid received a bounce score of 6.2/10, giving it a responsive feel that makes it easy to shift positions without feeling stuck in the surface.

(Prefer a mattress with less bounce? The Juno Foam mattress has a slower response time and a lower bounce level of 2.5/10.)

4.7 /10

Cooling Features

Cooling performance looks at how well a mattress helps to manage heat and airflow. While Juno Hybrid includes a few design elements that can help with temperature regulation. The Juno Hybrid mattress earned points for its:

  1. Optional Cool+ cover upgrade, which is woven with cooling yarn for a cool-to-the-touch sleep surface
  2. Layer of cooling gel-infused foam that reduces heat buildup
  3. Layer of pocketed coils, which adds breathability and promotes airflow
  4. Open-cell foam construction that promotes a more breathable sleep surface
