The So Sleepy Arctic Cool mattress is 10″ tall and features a 2-layer design, including serene cooling gel and bio soy high-density foam. This Canadian-made mattress has a medium-firm feel, excellent edge support, and above-average motion isolation. As a foam mattress, it also has below-average bounce.
Despite its name, the Arctic Cool mattress only has a couple of cooling features, like a layer of gel-infused foam, and silk in its top cover. The cover isn’t removable for machine washing. To protect the mattress against spills and stains and qualify for your sleep trial, you’ll need to purchase a Leon’s mattress protector in a matching size. This will also help keep your 10-year warranty intact.
If you’re looking for comparable options at lower prices, Juno is a medium-firm Canadian mattress with breathable open-cell foam, cooling gel foam, and an optional Cool+ cover. Each Juno mattress comes with a 120-night sleep trial, a 15-year warranty, and a free bedding bundle.

The company offers free local delivery for online and in-store orders of $799 or more before taxes (excluding British Columbia). Local delivery means there needs to be a physical Leon’s location near you, which likely won’t be the case for more remote areas. Shipping and delivery times vary by location.
Each Leon’s mattress comes with a 10-year warranty, which is the industry standard.
While mattresses sold through Leon’s are considered final sale, if you purchase a qualifying mattress protector on the same invoice, you may be eligible for Leon’s “100 Night Sleep Comfort Guarantee”, which allows you to exchange your mattress once if it isn’t the right fit. You’ll pay any difference if you decide on a more expensive model. According to a Leon’s agent, they provide free return pickups.
Competing and affordable brands like Juno offer a 120-night trial. If you return your Juno during the trial period, you’ll get free mattress pickup and a full refund. Juno also backs its product with a longer 15-year warranty.
Want a mattress with full refunds for returns and a longer warranty? Consider Juno instead.

MattressReviews.ca commissions licensed third-party engineers and uses public data to rate mattresses on over 40 criteria.
This allows us to accurately rate and compare the performance of the mattresses reviewed on this website. Engineer independence and operating standards help ensure their results remain unbiased, valid, and reliable.
Each mattress was evaluated using the same strict mattress testing methodology to protect the overall integrity of the results. Foam and hybrid mattress test results are scored on separate scales to ensure fair contextual performance representation as much as possible. The full report has been given the official stamp of approval from an APEGA-certified engineer operating under a strict ethical code of conduct.
Mattress testing conducted outside of this professional standard poses a greater risk of validity errors or reviewer bias.

6.0 /10
Firmness
In third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), Leon’s So Sleepy Arctic Cool scored 6.0/10 for firmness, with a deflection of 2.8″ from a lying position. This puts it in the medium-firm category. Medium-firm mattresses are suitable for all sleep styles.

8.3 /10
Edge Support
Whether you like to sit on the side of the mattress or you tend to drift toward the edge while sleeping, edge support is crucial for stability. Good edge support offers a firm, reliable surface when getting in or out of bed, which is especially beneficial to sleepers with mobility challenges.
With a deflection of 3.8″ from a seated position, the Leon’s So Sleepy Arctic Cool earned an excellent score of 8.3/10 for edge support. This means you can lounge or sleep near the edge comfortably.
6.3 /10
Motion Isolation
Foam mattresses typically have higher motion isolation than hybrids, a must-have feature for light sleepers or anyone sharing a bed with a restless partner.
The Leon’s So Sleepy Arctic Cool performs well here, earning an above-average score of 6.3/10. This indicates a good ability to absorb movement, ensuring that a tossing-and-turning partner won’t disrupt your deep sleep.
3.3 /10
Bounce
Bounce is a matter of personal preference. It measures how quickly the surface of a mattress regains its shape—lower bounce usually means better motion isolation, while higher bounce makes it easier to move around or change positions.
With a score of 3.3/10, this Leon’s mattress falls into the below-average category for bounce, even for a foam mattress.

2.4 /10
Cooling Features
While Leon’s So Sleepy Arctic Cool mattress is advertised to be a cooling mattress, it doesn’t have many cooling features. However, it earns some points for its:
- Top cover made with silk, which is cool-to-the-touch and moisture-wicking for drier sleep
- Top layer of gel-infused foam that helps reduce heat buildup
If you’re looking for an affordable, Canadian-made mattress with more cooling features, consider Juno. It earned a higher cooling feature score of 3.2/10 thanks to its breathable construction, cooling gel foam, and optional Cool+ cover.
