Product Details
Sealy Posturepedic Optimum Chill Trio Dione is 11″ tall. It ranges in size from twin XL to king and has a price range of $2,849–$2,799.
Chill Trio Dione has a simpler construction than we would expect from such a high-priced mattress. It has just 2 memory foam layers, which are made from CertiPUR-US® certified foam. The top layer uses Sealy’s OptiSense™ Liquid Gel Memory Foam with ChillActive™ cooling technology.
The stretchy mattress cover is made with Sealy Chill™ 2.0 cooling yarn. This cover isn’t machine-washable. Chill Trio Dione also uses Sealy’s Posturepedic® technology, which is meant to provide zoned support and targeted pressure relief.
For a memory foam mattress with more cooling features, consider Octave Vista. In addition to features like a cooling nanofibre cover and copper-infused memory foam to provide a cooling surface. Priced at just $899 for a queen size, Octave also comes with a 15-year warranty, a 365-night risk-free sleep trial, and a free bedding bundle.

Delivery, Sleep Trial & Returns
Note: This mattress has been discontinued and is no longer available for purchase through Sleep Country. You may be able to find it for purchase through individual retailers.
Sleep Country Canada offers free shipping for online orders over $75. Your Sealy Posturepedic Chill Trio Dione should arrive within 3–10 business days, including dispatch and delivery time. You can choose between standard delivery service or an upgrade to Green Glove Delivery. This includes delivery to a specific room in your home, setup and assembly, and removal of your old mattress and any packaging.
You’ll have the opportunity to test this mattress during Sleep Country’s 100-night sleep trial. If you decide to return your mattress, you’ll have to bring it back to the store yourself. Sleep Country doesn’t provide pickup service for returned mattresses. The mattress also arrives fully expanded, with a layer of plastic protecting the mattress.
You also won’t receive a refund for your purchase. Sleep Country Canada only offers in-store credit for returns, and you’ll need to pay a $65 exchange fee. This means you’ll either select a less expensive mattress and be left with unused credit, or have to spend even more money to upgrade to a pricier mattress.
Sleep Country Canada offers a 10-year warranty on their mattresses.
It is also important to look into third-party customer review sites such as Trustpilot and the Better Business Bureau (“BBB“) to get a full picture of the customer experience. Sealy is rated “Poor” on Trustpilot, with a customer review score of 2.2/5. They also have a BBB rating of “B-” (unaccredited). Sleep Country Canada, which sells Sealy mattresses, is rated “A+” (unaccredited) on BBB, with a customer review score of just 1.27/5 stars. They are also rated “Poor” on Trustpilot.
In comparison, competing brands like Octave have more customer-friendly sleep trials, warranties, and return policies. Octave offers a 365-night sleep trial and a 15-year warranty. If you return your mattress, Octave will pick it up from your home and provide a full refund. Octave is rated “Excellent” on Trustpilot and their parent company, GoodMorning.com, also has a “A+” rating on Better Business Bureau, with a customer review score of 4.89/5.

Sealy Mattress Construction
Sealy Posturepedic Chill Trio Dione stands 11″ tall (not 10″ as stated on the Sleep Country website at the time this review was written). Chill Trio Dione has 2 interior foam layers, which is fewer than expected for a mattress that costs $2,399 for a queen-size. These layers are CertiPUR-US™ certified.
- Layer 1: The top (comfort) layer is 3″ of cooling gel memory foam. This layer shapes itself around your body as you lie down.
- Layer 2: The bottom (support) layer is 8″ of higher-density foam. In addition to acting as the mattress’s foundation, the rigidity of this layer prevents you from sinking too far into the mattress.
At the time of writing this review, Sleep Country stated that Chill Trio Dione contains “generous layers of quick response OptiSense™ Liquid Gel Memory Foam.” However, according to the infographic we received from their customer service team, only the top layer uses this foam. It’s also not clear what this layer includes apart from cooling gel.
The Ultra-Stretch Chill-Trio™ Cover contains cooling yarn that’s meant to absorb and dissipate heat. This cover isn’t machine washable, even though it has a zipper. You’ll need to carefully spot-clean any spills or stains.

MattressReviews.ca commissions licensed third-party engineers and uses public data to rate mattresses on over 40 criteria.
This allows us to accurately rate and compare the performance of the mattresses reviewed on this website. Engineer independence and operating standards help ensure their results remain unbiased, valid, and reliable. Each mattress was evaluated using the same strict mattress testing methodology to protect the overall integrity of the results. The full report has been given the official stamp of approval from an APEGA-certified engineer operating under a strict ethical code of conduct.
Mattress testing conducted outside of this professional standard poses a greater risk of validity errors or reviewer bias.

6.2 /10
Firmness
In third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), Sealy Posturepedic Optimum Chill Trio Dione had a 2.5″ deflection when laid on, resulting in a 6.2/10 firmness score. This places the mattress in the medium-firm category. Medium-firm mattresses are ideal for back, side, and stomach sleepers.
(Need a medium-firm mattress with a touch more firmness? You might like Octave Vista, which scored 6.8/10 for firmness in engineer testing.)

Edge Support
Good edge support is important if you like sitting up or lounging on the side of your bed, tend to sleep closer to the edge or need extra stability for getting in and out of bed—especially if you or your partner have mobility challenges.
Sealy Posturepedic Optimum Chill Trio Dione had a 3.7″ deflection from a seated position, giving it a 8.5/10 score for edge support. This is an excellent score compared to many other foam mattresses. You can sit comfortably on the edge of the mattress without sliding off. You should also have no trouble getting out of bed in the morning.
7.1 /10
Motion Isolation
Chill Trio Dione received a very good score of 7.1/10 for motion isolation. You and your partner will probably not notice each other’s movements while you sleep.
(Are you a light sleeper, or just want a little extra motion isolation? Consider Octave Vista with its higher score of 7.3/10.)
2.9 /10
Bounce
Bounce is a matter of personal preference. It measures how quickly a mattress bounces back to its original shape after pressure is applied, hence how responsive a mattress is. Foam mattresses tend to offer a slower response time, which translates to lower bounce levels, especially compared to mattresses with coils.
Chill Trio Dione scored 2.9/10 for bounce. This is quite low, even for a foam mattress. This could mean you’ll have some difficulty changing positions.
If you need a sleep surface that’s a little more responsive, you may prefer a memory foam mattress like Octave Vista, which has a bounce score of 3.7/10.

2.4 /10
Cooling Features
Despite being promoted as a cooling mattress, Sealy Posturepedic Chill Trio Dione has only two known cooling features. Sealy Posturepedic Optimum Chill Trio Dione earns points for its:
- Mattress cover made with cooling yarn for a cool-to-the-touch sensation when you first lie down
- Gel-infused memory foam that absorbs and redistributes body heat
If you need a mattress with more cooling features so you can wake up feeling refreshed, consider Octave Vista instead. It features a moisture-wicking cover infused with cooling nanofibres to pull sweat away from your body, cooling gel foam that dissipates heat, a ventilated design for air circulation, and phase-change material that adapts to seasonal temperature changes.
Vista is also more accessibly priced at just $899 for a queen size, compared to $2,399 for Sealy.

Company Background
Founded in the 1880s, Sealy crafted customized mattresses in a Texas town, adopting the town’s name as its own. Sealy was an industry frontrunner by the 1920s. The well-known Posturepedic mattress line was added to the company in the early 1950s.
In 2012, Sealy merged with Tempur-Pedic, one of its biggest competitors, to become Tempur Sealy International, Inc. The corporation also owns the Stearns & Foster mattress brand.
Sealy holds a “B-” (unaccredited) rating on the Better Business Bureau, but a user score rating of only 1/5. On Trustpilot, Sealy has a “Poor” rating with a customer review score of 2.2/5.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are Sealy Posturepedic mattresses good?
Sealy Posturepedic Optimum Chill Trio Dione is a decent mattress with notably good edge support and motion isolation. But it’s priced higher than many competitors, has limited cooling features, lacks a machine-washable cover, and you can’t return the mattress for a full refund.
If you are looking for a more affordable foam mattress with even more features, we think you should consider Octave Vista. It has advanced cooling features like a CryoFusion™ cooling nanofibre cover, copper-infused memory foam treated with PolarMAX® phase-change material, and multi-zone support foam with breathable air channels so you can enjoy undisturbed sleep.
Even with all these features, Octave is much more affordably priced than Sealy at $899 for a queen size. It also comes with a 365-night sleep trial, a 15-year warranty, and a free bedding bundle.
How long does the Sealy Posturepedic mattress last?
According to experts, a good mattress should last 7–10 years. However, this can vary depending on the materials used in the mattress’s construction and how frequently it is used. There’s no strict rule, but if you notice visible sagging, lumps, or a decline in comfort and support, it may be time to replace it. Regular maintenance and proper care can help extend a mattress’s lifespan.

Is the Sealy Posturepedic Optimum Chill Trio Dione mattress cover machine washable?
No, the mattress cover isn’t machine washable. Sealy recommends light spot-cleaning using mild soap and cold water only. Avoid soaking the mattress with water or cleaning fluid, as it doesn’t react well with memory foam. The company also recommends using a protective mattress pad. However, this could reduce the cooling effects of the mattress’s top cover.
Where are Sealy Posturepedic mattresses made?
All Sealy mattresses sold in Canada are also made in Canada. These mattresses may use both Canadian and American components.
What does the Sealy Posturepedic warranty cover?
The Sealy warranty only covers manufacturing defects. It doesn’t cover incidental damage to the mattress, or any sagging and indentations shallower than 1.5″. The warranty period is between 1 and 10 years, and it varies depending on the mattress. Check your mattress’s warranty tag to see the schedule number and warranty code. This code tells you how long the warranty is.
The Sealy Posturepedic Optimum Chill Trio Dione comes with a 10-year warranty.
How much is a Sealy Posturepedic mattress?
Sealy Posturepedic mattresses can vary widely in price. You can expect to spend anywhere from $800 to well over $4,000, depending on the specific model and size you choose. Sealy Posturepedic Chill Trio Dione costs $2,849–$2,799 at Sleep Country and comes in sizes from twin XL to king.
What Sealy Posturepedic mattress alternatives should I consider?
We recommend Octave Vista for a feature-rich foam mattress at a more affordable price. Octave mattresses are meticulously crafted for deeper sleep.
You’ll also stay cool all night with Octave Vista’s several advanced cooling features, including a CryoFusion™ cooling nanofibre cover, copper-infused memory foam treated with PolarMAX® phase-change material for temperature balance, and multi-zone support foam with air channels for breathability and temperature control.
Octave has a machine-washable top cover, which makes it easy to keep your mattress fresh night after night. It also comes with a 365-night sleep trial, 15-year warranty, and free bedding bundle—all for just $899 for a queen size.
