Product Details
The Casper Snow mattress is 12″ tall. It has 5 layers, combining CertiPUR-US®-certified foams with individually pocketed coils to deliver a medium-firm feel.
Some of its standout features include a layer of memory foam with zoned support for targeted pressure relief and its cooling technology. To keep the mattress temperature-regulated, Snow incorporates a QuickCool™ Cover (which is not machine-washable), perforated foam that’s made with phase-change material, and graphite HeatDelete® Bands, which pull heat away from the body.
Casper Snow’s cooling features make it a good option for sleepers who run warm at night. However, at $2,999 for a queen size, this mattress is priced higher than average when compared to some competing cooling mattresses. If you’re interested in a mattress with advanced cooling technology at a lower price, you might like Octave Horizon, which costs less at $1,599 for a queen size.
Like Casper Snow, Octave Horizon has phase-change material and perforated foam that offer advanced temperature regulation and air circulation. Octave also comes with a machine-washable cover woven with cooling nanofibres, a layer of antimicrobial CopperGel™ memory foam, aerated latex, ecoLuxe® cooling gel foam, and premium Elastex® foam to provide a refreshing and restorative night’s sleep. Octave also offers a 365-night sleep trial—over three times as long as Casper’s—a 15-year warranty, and a free bedding bundle with purchase.
Ideal For:
- Side, back, and stomach sleepers
- Hot sleepers
Not Ideal For:

Note: This mattress has been discontinued and is no longer available through Casper’s website. The information on this page applies to the mattress at the time of our purchase.

Casper Snow comes with an industry-standard 100-night sleep trial and 10-year warranty. If you purchase directly from Casper Canada, you’ll be able to try out the mattress in your own home for around 3 months. If you choose to return it, provided that the mattress is in a donatable condition, Casper will arrange free return pickup and issue a full refund.
However, if you purchase your Casper mattress through Sleep Country Canada, your sleep trial only allows a one-time exchange for a $99 fee. Plus, you have to bring the mattress back to the store yourself, and if you exchange it for a more expensive model, you’ll have to pay the difference. It’s always a good idea to double-check policies before purchasing.

Casper Snow Mattress Construction
The Casper Hybrid Snow mattress should measure about 12″ tall (the one we received was 11.5″). This hybrid mattress contains 5 layers of foam and coils.
- Layer 1: 1″ of polyurethane foam with AirScape® Technology (Casper’s proprietary name for perforated foam) and phase-change material. This comfort layer helps provide pressure relief while also being breathable and temperature-regulating.
- Layer 2: 1.5″ of zoned memory foam that’s constructed with Casper’s graphite HeatDelete® Bands in the middle section of this layer. These bands are designed to draw heat away from your body, helping you stay cool at night.
- Layer 3: 2″ of extra memory foam to add cushioning and help prevent feeling the coil layer underneath. This is what gives the mattress its plush top feel without losing support.
- Layer 4: 6″ of individually pocketed Flex Coils that are enveloped by a strong foam encasement. The coils give the mattress bounce and support in the middle, letting you move and reposition without feeling stuck, while the foam encasement provides stronger edge support.
- Layer 5: 1″ of foam underneath the coils that acts as a foundation and prevents the coils from making noise, scratching, or damaging your bed base over time.
Even though we ordered this Casper Snow mattress in 2026, the model we received was manufactured in 2023. A boxed mattress is compressed and rolled before being packaged, and keeping it in this state for years before it’s opened will affect its performance and longevity. This influenced Casper Snow’s final rating.
Casper Snow’s QuickCool™ top cover is made of a polyester blend that includes polyethylene, recycled cotton, spandex, and rayon. Although it has a zipper, Casper advises not to remove or machine-wash this cover. Hence, you should spot-clean any spills or stains.

MattressReviews.ca commissions licensed third-party engineers and uses public data to rate mattresses on over 40 criteria.
This allows us to accurately rate and compare the performance of the mattresses reviewed on this website. Engineer independence and operating standards help ensure their results remain unbiased, valid, and reliable.
Each mattress was evaluated using the same strict mattress testing methodology to protect the overall integrity of the results. Foam and hybrid mattress test results are scored on separate scales to ensure fair contextual performance representation as much as possible. The full report has been given the official stamp of approval from an APEGA-certified engineer operating under a strict ethical code of conduct.
Mattress testing conducted outside of this professional standard poses a greater risk of validity errors or reviewer bias.

During testing, our mannequin weighs 170 lb and measures 5’5″ tall.
6.0 /10
Firmness
In third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), Casper Snow scored 6.0/10 for firmness based on a 3.4″ deflection. This places the mattress in our medium-firm category, which is typically well-suited for most sleepers, regardless of their sleeping position. The Casper Snow mattress also includes zoned support foam, which provides targeted support under the hips and helps maintain spinal alignment.
(If you’re looking for a medium-firm mattress with zoned support that doesn’t cost over $2,500 for a queen-size, consider Octave Horizon instead for just $1,599 for a queen size.)

Edge Support
Good edge support in a mattress is important if you like sitting up or sleeping closer to the edge of the bed, especially if you have mobility issues.
Casper Snow earned a very good edge support score of 7.0/10 based on a seated deflection of 5.1″, meaning that you should be able to sit comfortably on the edge of this mattress.
(For comparable edge support with a lower price tag, consider Octave Horizon. Horizon earned an edge support score of 6.8/10, but costs just about half of Casper’s price.)
8.0 /10
Motion Isolation
The level of motion isolation in a mattress determines how much movement from one side of the mattress gets transferred to the other. If you’re a light sleeper who’s easily woken by movements from your partner (or pet), motion isolation should be a priority for you when shopping for a mattress.
Casper Snow received an excellent score of 8.0/10 for motion isolation.
4.1 /10
Bounce
Bounce is a matter of personal preference. It measures how quickly a mattress bounces back to its original shape after pressure is applied. Foam mattresses tend to offer slower response times, resulting in lower bounce scores.
Casper Snow scored 4.1/10 for bounce, which is a below-average score for a mattress with coils. A lower bounce score is good if you prefer a slower-moving mattress that’s less responsive to movement.
(If you are looking for a mattress with even lower bounce, consider Octave Horizon, which has a bounce score of 3.8/10.)

7.5 /10
Cooling Features
Casper Snow is advertised as a cooling mattress and offers some cooling features that help you sleep cooler throughout the night. Casper Snow earns points for its:
- QuickCool™ Cover, made of polyester, polyethylene, rayon, recycled cotton, and spandex, which provides a cool-to-the-touch feel.
- AirScape® Technology perforated foam, which helps with air circulation.
- Phase-change material that adapts to body temperature and helps prevent heat retention.
- Graphite HeatDelete® Bands, which are designed to pull heat away from your body.
- Individually pocketed coils that add breathability to the mattress.
While Casper Snow has several cooling features, it comes with a higher-than-average price tag of $2,999 for a queen size. If you’re looking for a mattress with more cooling features at a much lower price, consider Octave Horizon instead, which has a higher cooling feature score of 9.0/10.

Company Background
Founded in New York City, Casper first emerged in 2014 as an early North American bed-in-a-box brand. The company expanded its product lineup over the years with substantial funding from organizations like the Target Corporation and celebrities such as Ashton Kutcher.
Casper went public in 2020 but was taken private again in 2022 after a stock collapse. Also in 2022, Casper shut down its European operations, focusing exclusively on the North American market. In 2023, Casper sold its Canadian operations to Sleep Country Canada, and in 2024, after attempts to stop losing money, its US operations were acquired by one of its suppliers, Carpenter Corporation.
Today, the company offers mattresses, bedding accessories, and home decor. Products are sold online, through branded retail stores, and through Sleep Country locations in Canada. Their mattresses are sometimes accompanied by rotating sales or deals that may include free sleep accessories.
Although Casper has separate American and Canadian operations, the brand has one combined Trustpilot page, which rates it as “Poor” (based on over 6,000 customer reviews). On the Better Business Bureau, Casper’s American profile is rated “A-” (unaccredited), but has a customer review rating of just 1.16 out of 5 stars. Casper does not have a Canadian BBB profile, but its parent company, Sleep Country Canada, has a customer review score of just 1.32/5 on BBB, and is rated “Poor” on Trustpilot.
Where Casper makes its mattresses depends on whether you buy in Canada or the USA. Casper Canada makes most of its mattresses in Canada and Vietnam, with select models manufactured in the US. We have received Casper mattresses made in Canada, the United States, Vietnam, and Mexico. The label of each mattress has information about where it was manufactured.
Buy from the company with 4.89/5 stars on BBB and the “Excellent” Trustpilot rating.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are Casper mattresses good?
The Casper Snow mattress is a medium-firm, zoned hybrid mattress which performed well in third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us). Advertised for its cooling capabilities, this mattress offers several cooling features, earning a cooling features score of 7.5/10. Having said that, it’s more expensive than other cooling competitors in the market at $2,999 for a queen size, and only comes with an industry-average 100-night sleep trial and a 10-year warranty.
For example, Octave Horizon is a comparable alternative with a much more accessible price of $1,599 for a queen size. Octave Horizon is also a cooling mattress, but received an even higher cooling features score of 9.0/10, despite being more affordable than Casper Snow. Octave mattresses also come with a much longer 365-night sleep trial and 15-year warranty, as well as a free bedding bundle with your purchase.
How much does a Casper Snow cost?
The Casper Snow, which is available in sizes ranging from twin to California King, costs between $2,199 and $3,499, depending on what size you choose. A queen-sized Casper Snow costs $2,999.
If you’re looking for a more affordable cooling mattress, consider Octave Horizon, which costs $1,599 for a queen, nearly half the price of the Casper Snow.
Where are Casper mattresses made?
Casper Canada currently makes most of its mattresses in Canada and Vietnam. However, the Casper Snow mattress we tested was made in the United States almost 3 years before we placed the order.
Does the Casper mattress have fiberglass?
The Casper Snow mattress that we received did not contain fiberglass. According to a Casper Canada agent, newly produced Casper mattresses do not contain fiberglass.
However, on their blog FAQ page on Casper.com (Casper’s American website), certain Casper models did contain fiberglass to meet fire safety regulations in the United States. Casper has since moved away from fiberglass toward alternatives such as rayon or silica blends.
We recommend reaching out to Casper’s support team if you need more information on whether or not your mattress contains fiberglass.

Who owns Casper?
While Casper is originally an American brand, they sold their Canadian operations to Sleep Country, which has owned Casper Canada since 2023. Sleep Country also owns the Endy, Hush, Bloom, and Silk & Snow brands.
Are Casper mattresses sold in stores?
Yes. Casper mattresses are available in-store at Sleep Country Canada, as well as at Casper’s own stores.
How do I return a Casper mattress?
If you purchased your Casper mattress directly from Casper, you’ll receive a 100-night sleep trial and will be eligible to return it for a full refund. After the mandatory 30-night trial period, you can contact Casper’s customer care team to initiate a return. Provided that your mattress is in a donation-ready condition, Casper will arrange to pick it up, donate it to their local charity partners, and issue you a refund to your original payment method.
However, if you purchased your Casper mattress from Sleep Country Canada, you will receive Sleep Country’s return policy, which is a 100-night exchange period, during which you can exchange your mattress for a different one Sleep Country offers for a $99 exchange fee. If you exchange your Casper mattress for a more expensive model, you’ll have to pay the difference.
Is the Casper Snow mattress cover machine washable?
No, the Casper Snow cover is not machine-washable, despite having a zipper. You should spot-clean any spills or stains, according to Casper’s website.
What Casper mattress alternatives should I consider?
If you’re looking for a comparable but more affordable alternative to Casper Snow, consider the Octave Horizon mattress. Priced at just $1,599 for a queen size mattress, Horizon has an even higher cooling features score of 9.0/10 (compared to Snow’s 7.5/10 score), with features like a moisture-wicking CryoFusion™ nanofibre cover, gel- and copper-infused foam, phase-change material, aerated latex, channelled foam, and open-cell foam.
Along with comparable performance in areas like edge support and motion isolation, Octave offers better customer policies like a longer 365-night sleep trial and a 15-year warranty. Your purchase also comes with a free bedding bundle, which includes a bamboo sheet set and shams, bamboo duvet cover, down alternative duvet, adjustable pillow(s), pillow protector(s), and a mattress protector. All in all, you get more with your cooling Octave mattress for a much lower price tag.
