Product Details
The Hamuq Organic Hybrid mattress is 12″ tall and features a 4-layer design. On the brand’s website, Hamuq Organic is described as having a firm feel, which aligns with third-party engineer testing that we commissioned. While firm mattresses can be suitable for certain sleeping positions, they may not provide enough pressure-point relief for all sleepers. This mattress earned excellent edge support and motion isolation scores, and has a very high level of bounce.
Hamuq Organic Hybrid uses organic materials, including a layer of GOLS-certified latex and GOTS-certified cotton in its mattress cover. While these are naturally breathable materials, Hamuq doesn’t use advanced cooling features like cooling gel foam, which provide enhanced cooling.
In comparison, Logan & Cove Frontier is a competing Canadian hybrid mattress with advanced cooling features, such as cooling gel foam, and cooling nanofibres woven into the top cover. Frontier also has a layer of breathable open-cell Elastex® foam, which provides responsiveness similar to latex at a more accessible price point.

Delivery, Sleep Trial & Returns

Hamuq Organic Hybrid comes with a 15-year warranty and a 120-night sleep trial. This is 20 nights longer than the industry-standard 100-night trial. However, it’s still shorter than sleep trials from companies like Logan & Cove, which offers a 365-night sleep trial.
It’s also a good idea to consider company ratings on third-party sites like the Better Business Bureau and Trustpilot. Hamuq isn’t accredited with the BBB, but it’s rated “Average” on Trustpilot.
Competing brands like Logan & Cove offer a longer 365-night sleep trial. Logan & Cove is rated “Excellent” on Trustpilot, and its parent company, GoodMorning, maintains a rating of “A+” with the BBB. Its customer review rating is 4.9/5 stars.
Want a mattress with a longer sleep trial? Consider Logan & Cove instead.

Hamuq Mattress Construction
The Hamuq Organic Hybrid mattress, including the one we received, measures 12″ tall and has 4 layers. According to a Hamuq agent in the Questions section of the Hamuq product page, the king-size Hamuq Organic Hybrid mattress is 13″ tall.
- Layer 1: The first layer is 1″ of Joma wool and an unspecified organic layer (likely latex) quilted underneath the mattress cover. This layer adds plushness to the mattress, providing pressure relief and also promoting airflow.
- Layer 2: The second layer, which makes up the comfort layer, is 1.5″ of organic latex, which is produced using the Dunlop method.
- Layer 3: The next layer is 0.5″ of micro coils, which acts as a transitional layer before the main coil base, adding some more breathability, responsiveness, and support.
- Layer 4: The final layer is the coil support layer, which is constructed of 9″ of individually wrapped and zoned pocketed coils. The term “zoned” means that softer coils are positioned along the outer edges for added comfort, while firmer coils in the central third provide support for proper spinal alignment. Additionally, the coil layer is reinforced with a perimeter of encased foam for enhanced support.
The top cover is made of GOTS-certified organic cotton, offering a soft, breathable surface. It can’t be removed, so any stains or spills need to be spot-cleaned.
MattressReviews.ca commissions licensed third-party engineers and uses public data to rate mattresses on over 40 criteria.
This allows us to accurately rate and compare the performance of the mattresses reviewed on this website. Engineer independence and operating standards help ensure their results remain unbiased, valid, and reliable.
Each mattress was evaluated using the same strict mattress testing methodology to protect the overall integrity of the results. Foam and hybrid mattress test results are scored on separate scales to ensure fair contextual performance representation as much as possible. The full report has been given the official stamp of approval from an APEGA-certified engineer operating under a strict ethical code of conduct.
Mattress testing conducted outside of this professional standard poses a greater risk of validity errors or reviewer bias.

7.6 /10
Firmness
In third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), Hamuq Organic Hybrid scored 7.6/10 for firmness, based on a 2.0″ displacement when lying down. This places the mattress in our firm category, which aligns with its advertised firmness level. Firm mattresses are often better suited for back and stomach sleepers, as well as heavier-weight individuals.

8.8 /10
Edge Support
Good edge support is important if you like sitting up or lounging on the side of your bed, tend to sleep closer to the edge, or need extra stability for getting in and out of bed, especially if you or your partner has mobility challenges.
Hamuq Organic Hybrid earned an edge support score of 8.8/10, due to a deflection of 3.4″ from a seated position. This is an excellent score, meaning that you should be able to sit comfortably on the edge of this mattress.
8.6 /10
Motion Isolation
Mattresses with high motion isolation keep you from noticing your partner’s nighttime movements, which can help ensure a more restful sleep with minimal disturbances. Hybrid mattresses aren’t always known for being strong in this area due to their bouncy coil layer.
However, the Hamuq Organic Hybrid mattress performed well, with an excellent score of 8.6/10 for motion isolation. You shouldn’t notice too much movement from your partner’s side of the bed.
(If you’re looking for a more affordable hybrid mattress that still performs well to motion isolation, you should consider Logan & Cove Frontier, which has a very good score of 7.0/10, but only costs $1,299 for a queen size, compared to Hamuq’s price tag of $1,999.)
8.0 /10
Bounce
Bounce is a matter of personal preference. It measures how quickly a mattress bounces back to its original shape after pressure is applied. Foam mattresses tend to offer slower response times, resulting in lower bounce scores. On the other hand, hybrid mattresses have faster response times, resulting in higher bounce scores and a more responsive feel.
Hamuq Organic Hybrid scored 8.0/10 for bounce, which is very high score, even for a hybrid mattress.
(If you are looking for a mattress with a little less bounce, consider Logan & Cove Frontier, which has a more average bounce score of 4.8/10.)

5.0 /10
Cooling Features
Hamuq Organic Hybrid has some cooling properties which help you sleep cooler throughout the night, earning points for its:
- Breathable cotton cover which moves heat away from the body
- Wool quilt layer, which improves the natural breathability of the mattress
- Perforated foam layer for added airflow
- Latex, which has a naturally open-cell structure for improved airflow
- Open-cell foam for added air circulation
- Aeroduct micro coils for more airflow in the mattress
- Individually wrapped pocket coils that support the air circulation of the mattress and minimize heat retention
If you’re looking for a mattress with an even higher cooling feature score at a more accessible price, you should consider Logan & Cove Frontier, which offers even more advanced cooling features like cooling gel foam and cooling nanofibres, earning a cooling features score of 5.4/10.
