Polysleep Origin is a medium-firm foam mattress made in Canada. In third-party engineering testing (commissioned by us), it earned strong scores for edge support and motion isolation. But with a higher-than-industry-average price tag of $995 for a queen size, a single cooling feature, and an average 100-night trial, there may be other Canadian foam mattresses that offer more for what you pay.
Douglas Original, for example, also scored well in engineer testing, but earned a much higher cooling features score. Douglas also offers a longer 365-night trial and 15-year warranty, all for a lower price of $799 for a queen size.

Polysleep Origin is a 10″ tall medium-firm mattress. This foam mattress has 3 layers: an open-cell antimicrobial foam, a motion-isolating foam, and a support foam. While this mattress has outstanding edge support and excellent motion isolation, its only cooling feature is its open-cell foam. Most modern foam mattresses tend to incorporate multiple advanced cooling features to help offset the heat-trapping nature of traditional foam.
For example, the Douglas Original is also a 10″, 3-layer foam mattress with excellent motion isolation, but it includes multiple advanced cooling features to help keep you cool at night. Featuring ecoLight® cooling gel foam, open-cell Elastex® foam, and a cooling cover infused with plant-based Infinitex™ fibres, the Douglas mattress may be a stronger option for hot sleepers. What are Polysleep’s Delivery, Sleep Trials & Returns Policies?
Polysleep ships its mattresses for free to most locations in Canada. For the majority of shoppers, orders should reach their doorstep in 4–7 business days, including dispatch and delivery times; however, Polysleep notes that delivery may take longer in provinces outside Quebec and Ontario. You’ll need to pay an additional fee for shipping to remote locations such as the Yukon, the Northwest Territories, or Nunavut. The mattress arrives rolled up in plastic inside a cardboard box.

Polysleep Canada offers a 100-night sleep trial to test your mattress at home, which is average for the industry. However, this trial isn’t available in the Canadian territories, which means that for those living there, your Polysleep mattress will be a final sale. There’s also an $85 return fee to keep in mind. You receive a 10-year warranty for your Polysleep mattress.
If you don’t like your Polysleep Origin mattress, you can either exchange it once for a different Polysleep mattress or receive a full refund. Both options are only available after sleeping on the mattress for at least 45 nights—nearly half the length of the sleep trial. You will need to pay the difference in cost if you’re upgrading to a more expensive mattress. If you choose a cheaper option, you’ll receive a refund of the difference.

What Is the Polysleep Origin Mattress Made Of?
The Polysleep Origin mattress measures 10″ tall and is built with 3 layers of CertiPUR-US© certified foam.
- Layer 1: The first layer is 1″ of open-cell foam that’s breathable, body contouring for comfort and pressure relief, and antimicrobial. This ISO 20743 antimicrobial foam is a medical-grade foam that limits bacterial growth caused by germs, dead skin cells, and sweat. This layer has a foam density of 3.0 lb/ft3.
- Layer 2: The second layer is 2″ of transitional foam, which Polysleep says aids in isolating motion transfer across the mattress. This layer has a foam density of 1.3 lb/ft3.
- Layer 3: The last layer is 7″ of support foam, which helps provide structural support and stability to the mattress. This layer has a foam density of 1.5 lb/ft3.
While Polysleep says their machine-washable cover is “breathable” and consists of 41% polyviscose, 58% polyester, and 1% spandex, the label on the Polysleep mattress we received says the top cover is a blend of 95% polyester and 5% spandex. As polyester isn’t known to be the most breathable fabric, it may not be ideal for hot sleepers. Spandex, which is commonly used in sportswear, adds elasticity and stretch to the cover.
