Product Details
The Polysleep is 10″ tall with 3 foam layers. It has a medium-firm feel, excellent edge support and motion isolation, and notably low bounce. The machine-washable mattress cover is made of polyviscose, polyester, and a small amount of Spandex.
One of the mattress’s key features is the antimicrobial and hypoallergenic construction in its comfort layer. This layer is made of open-cell viscoelastic foam, but it’s not clear what makes it antimicrobial or hypoallergenic.
Aside from this open-cell foam, the mattress doesn’t have much in the way of cooling, which is potentially bad news if you’re a hot sleeper. Combined with the mattress’s industry-average 100-night sleep trial and 10-year warranty, The Polysleep doesn’t offer a lot of long-term value.
If you’re looking for a longer sleep trial, longer warranty, more cooling features, and greater value in a mattress, consider the competing Douglas Original mattress instead.

Delivery, Sleep Trial & Returns
Polysleep ships its mattresses via UPS and FedEx. You should receive your order in 4–9 business days, including dispatch and delivery time. Shipping is free with purchase in most locations. However, an additional shipping fee applies for remote locations like Yukon, Northwest Territories, or Nunavut.
You’ll have 100 nights to try The Polysleep at home. However, like free shipping, this trial isn’t available if you live in the Canadian territories.
If you don’t want to keep the mattress, you can exchange it once for a different Polysleep mattress or return it. Before you can start the return process, you’ll need to sleep on the mattress for at least 45 nights, which is almost half the length of the sleep trial.
If you decide to return The Polysleep, an “administrative fee” of $89.95 plus tax will be deducted from your refund. If you opt for an exchange, you’ll need to pay the difference in cost if you’re upgrading to a more expensive mattress and you won’t receive a new sleep trial with your purchase. It’s not clear whether Polysleep provides a partial refund if you switch to a less expensive mattress.
The Polysleep comes with an industry-standard 10-year limited warranty. This warranty only covers defects in workmanship or materials. It’s unclear whether or not the warranty covers covers any damage caused during shipping.
In comparison, many of Polysleep’s competitors offer more customer-friendly sleep trial and return policies. Douglas, for instance, offers a risk-free 365-night sleep trial and a 20-year warranty. The company also offers a free pickup service and provides a full refund. You won’t be charged any admin or processing fees for your mattress return.
Get Douglas Original and enjoy a 365-night sleep trial and a 20-year warranty.

The Polysleep Mattress Construction
The Polysleep stands 10″ tall and contains 3 layers of foam. The bottom 2 of these layers are bracketed with 7.5″ of edge support foam along the sidewalls, which makes the mattress look like it only has two layers. All foam used is CertiPUR-US® certified.
- Layer 1: The top (comfort) layer is 2.5″ of Polysleep’s open-cell viscoelastic hybrid foam. This layer contains the mattress’s hypoallergenic and antimicrobial properties, but it’s unknown how this layer’s composition makes it that way.
- Layer 2: The middle (transition) layer is 2″ of foam. This layer prevents you from feeling the denser support layer beneath.
- Layer 3: The bottom (support) layer is 5.5″ of high-density foam. This layer gives the mattress most of its bulk and prevents you from sinking too far into it while you’re lying down.
The Polysleep’s cover is made of polyviscose, polyester, and a small amount of Spandex. It’s removable and machine-washable. The cover is designed to be breathable, but doesn’t have any additional cooling features.
Choose the mattress with advanced cooling features for a more comfortable sleep.

MattressReviews.ca commissions licensed third-party engineers and uses public data to rate mattresses on over 40 criteria.
This allows us to accurately rate and compare the performance of the mattresses reviewed on this website. Engineer independence and operating standards help ensure their results remain unbiased, valid, and reliable. Each mattress was evaluated using the same strict mattress testing methodology to protect the overall integrity of the results. The full report has been given the official stamp of approval from an APEGA-certified engineer operating under a strict ethical code of conduct.
Mattress testing conducted outside of this professional standard poses a greater risk of validity errors or reviewer bias.
6.4 /10
Firmness
In third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), The Polysleep had a deflection of 2.3″ when laid on, giving it a firmness score of 6.4/10. This places it in the medium-firm category. This firmness category is ideal for all sleep styles, so you shouldn’t have any problems sleeping on your side, back, or stomach.
(Need a little extra support for a more comfortable sleep? Douglas earned a 6.7/10 firmness score.)
9.0 /10
Edge Support
The Polysleep’s deflection from a seated position was just 3.2″, earning it a 9.0/10 edge support score. This is an excellent score, especially for an all-foam mattress. You won’t sink into the sidewalls while sitting on the edge, and you can sleep farther away from the middle of the mattress without sinking too deeply into it.
8.1 /10
Motion Isolation
The Polysleep scored 8.1/10 for motion isolation. This is an excellent score. You should be able to sleep without noticing most of your partner’s movements.
(Want a mattress with better motion isolation? Consider Douglas with its score of 8.3/10.)
3.8 /10
Bounce
The Polysleep scored 3.8/10 for bounce. This is somewhat below average for a foam mattress. Combined with the mattress’s higher amount of “hug,” you could find it difficult to change positions.
1.8 /10
Cooling Features
The Polysleep isn’t advertised as a cooling mattress, but rather as a hypoallergenic and anti-microbial one. That said, the mattress does contain a few cooling features to stop you from overheating at night. The Polysleep earns points for its:
- Breathable cover, which is engineered to increase airflow
- Its open-cell foam in the comfort layer, which also increases airflow
While these cooling features might help somewhat if you sleep hot, they might not be enough to prevent overheating at night.
If you’re looking for a great all-around foam mattress that does more to keep you cool (and at a lower price), consider Douglas Original instead. It features a layer of cooling gel foam and a moisture-wicking top cover woven with sustainable plant-based fibers keeps you cool and dry throughout the night.

Company Background
Founded in 2016, Polysleep is a Canadian company that offers most of its retail services online. The company maintains a rating of “A+” on Better Business Bureau. Polysleep also has 3.5/5 stars on its unclaimed Trustpilot profile, but there aren’t any reviews to go with that rating. In fact, there are no customer reviews on either platform, which is highly unusual.
While Polysleep has 2,500+ reviews on its website, there are only a handful of one- and two-star reviews. Again, this is extremely unusual. One such review says they tried to leave a one-star review, but “they don’t allow them on their website.” This means there may be more reviews that aren’t shown and could present a far different picture of the company.
Choose Douglas, the mattress brand that’s rated “Excellent” on Trustpilot and has 21,000+ reviews.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are Polysleep mattresses good?
While Polysleep mattresses have some nice features, other mattresses like Douglas Original offer more value. Douglas comes with balanced support, more cooling features, a 365-night sleep trial, a 20-year warranty, and a free bedding bundle. It’s also more accessibly priced at just $799 for a queen size.
Where are Polysleep mattresses manufactured?
Polysleep manufactures mattresses for the Canadian market in Canada.
Do Polysleep mattresses need a special bed frame?
According to the manufacturer, Polysleep mattresses are best used with their Polysleep Foundation. However, they can be used on almost any bed frame, including adjustable bases, platforms, and slatted bases.
What does the Polysleep warranty cover?
Polysleep offers a 10-year limited warranty for its mattresses, which generally covers manufacturing defects only. It will not protect against incidental damage, and it’s unclear whether the warranty covers damage incurred during shipping.
How long does a Polysleep mattress last?
Polysleep’s mattresses have a 10-year warranty, so they should ideally last that long. However, the low number of customer reviews online makes it hard to determine whether the mattress will stay intact until the end of its warranty period.
What Polysleep mattress alternatives should I consider?
We suggest checking out Douglas Original. At just $799 for a queen size, Douglas offers more value for your money with its advanced cooling technologies and pressure-point relief. Along with a risk-free 365-night sleep trial and 20-year warranty, you’ll also get a free bedding bundle with your purchase.
