Product Details
Serta Perfect Sleeper Elite Percevall is 11.5″ tall and has 4 layers. It has a firm feel, which may not be ideal if you’re a side sleeper. The mattress also has an antimicrobial mattress cover woven with silver, which the brand says will promote cooling. This cover is not machine washable.
It’s common for hybrid mattresses to use coil rows for support along the sidewalls. However, Serta Perfect Sleeper Elite Percevall uses foam blocks for support instead. This may contribute to the mattress’s excellent edge support. It also has good motion isolation and a high level of bounce, according to third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us).
Competing mattresses like Logan & Cove Choice offer many of the same features at a lower price point. Like Percevall, Logan & Cove provides zoned support and more cooling technologies. Unlike Percevall, however, Logan & Cove comes with a much better sleep trial, warranty, and return policy. You also receive a free bedding bundle with your purchase.

Sleep Country Canada offers free shipping to most locations in Canada, but additional fees may apply for some remote locations.
If you want to return the mattress, you need to bring the mattress back to the store yourself. There are no refunds, only exchanges for store credit. A $65 exchange fee applies. Sleep Country offers a 10-year warranty on most mattresses.

Serta Perfect Sleeper Mattress Construction
Serta Perfect Sleeper Elite Percevall is a hybrid mattress with 4 distinct layers. It stands 11.5″ high.
- Layer 1: The top (comfort) layer is 1″ foam that’s been quilted into pockets. Technically, this layer is actually two separate sheets of 0.5″ foam. We consider this one layer because the foam sheets are physically attached and combined to form the top layer.
- Layer 2: This layer is 2″ of relatively dense foam, preventing you from feeling the coils as they adjust to your body’s movements. However, with its denser feel, you may not experience the full contouring benefits of the coil layer below.
- Layer 3: 8″ individually pocketed coils provide full-body support. These coils aren’t used along Percevall’s sidewalls. The sidewalls are instead supported using 3″ support foam, which contributes to the mattress’s excellent edge support score.
- Layer 4: At the bottom of the mattress, 0.5″ of foam provides a little extra support below the pocketed coils.
Serta indicates that the Perfect Sleeper Elite Percevall uses Serta® Support Gel Foam. It’s not clear whether this foam is used in the first or second layer. Serta also doesn’t disclose the densities of the foams used in Serta Perfect Sleeper Elite Percevall. All foam used is CertiPUR-US®-certified.
The mattress cover uses antimicrobial fabric woven with silver fibres to help keep the mattress cool and fresh. However, Percevall’s mattress cover is not removable or machine-washable.
Serta Perfect Sleeper Elite Percevall’s main cooling features are its mattress cover and gel foam layer, which can help dissipate some heat.
Choose Logan & Cove Choice and get a hybrid mattress without the luxury price tag.

MattressReviews.ca commissions licensed third-party engineers and uses public data to rate mattresses on over 40 criteria.
This allows us to accurately rate and compare the performance of the mattresses reviewed on this website. Engineer independence and operating standards help ensure their results remain unbiased, valid, and reliable. Each mattress was evaluated using the same strict mattress testing methodology to protect the overall integrity of the results. The full report has been given the official stamp of approval from an APEGA-certified engineer operating under a strict ethical code of conduct.
Mattress testing conducted outside of this professional standard poses a greater risk of validity errors or reviewer bias.

7.6 /10
Firmness
Serta Perfect Sleeper Elite Percevall had a deflection of just 2″ when laid on, earning it a 7.6/10 firmness score. This is considered a firm mattress. You could find this level of firmness uncomfortable if you primarily sleep on your side or if you are lighter weight individual.
A medium-firm mattress, on the other hand, is ideal for all sleep styles. You may want to consider a medium-firm mattress like Logan & Cove Choice, which scored 6.9/10 for firmness.

Edge Support
Good edge support is important if you like sitting up or lounging on the side of your bed, tend to sleep closer to the edge or need extra stability for getting in and out of bed—especially if you or your partner have mobility challenges.
Serta Perfect Sleeper Elite Percevall had a deflection 2.7″ from a seated position, resulting in a 9.5/10 edge support score. This is an outstanding score for any mattress, and it’s surprising given that the sidewalls are made of foam. You shouldn’t notice any sagging when you sit on the edge of the bed.
6.3 /10
Motion Isolation
Serta Perfect Sleeper Elite Percevall scored an above-average 6.3/10 for motion isolation. This score suggests that the person sleeping next to you might not be disturbed if you shift positions gently.
(If you are a light sleeper or if motion isolation is a priority for you, we recommend competing hybrid mattress Logan & Cove Choice earned a higher motion isolation score of 7.5/10. A score this high helps ensure a restful, undisturbed sleep.)
7.8 /10
Bounce
Bounce is a matter of personal preference. It measures how quickly a mattress bounces back to its original shape after pressure is applied. Hybrid mattresses with coils tend to be more bouncy and have a high response to pressure since they’re easy to switch positions and move around on.
Serta Perfect Sleeper Elite Percevall scored 7.8/10 for bounce. This is exceptionally high, even for a hybrid mattress. While you shouldn’t have any difficulty changing positions, this mattress may be too responsive to allow for a restful night’s sleep.
(Need a bed with less bounce? Consider Logan & Cove Choice with its bounce score of 5.8/10.)

Cooling Features
While it’s marketed as a cooling mattress, Serta Perfect Sleeper Elite Percevall has limited information about it cooling features. Serta Perfect Sleeper Elite Percevall earns points for its:
- Cooling mattress cover with undisclosed technology
- Layer of temperature-regulating cooling gel foam
- Layer of individually wrapped coils that allow for air circulation
- Layer of support foam with undisclosed cooling technology
Want a mattress with excellent cooling and support features? Consider Logan & Cove Choice instead, which has a cooling feature score of 4.4/10. It comes with a layer of cooling gel foam, a layer of pocketed coils that promote airflow, and a mattress cover made with cooling nanofibres, gel foam, and breathable hollow fibre fill. Choice is also much more affordably priced at $999 for a queen size, compared to $1,389 for Serta.

Company Background
Founded in 1931, Serta is an American company based in Illinois. Serta’s biggest licensee, the National Bedding Company, was acquired by two private equity firms in 2005. After the following restructuring, Serta International became a subsidiary of Serta Simmons Bedding, LLC. The company also acquired independent mattress brand Tuft & Needle in 2018. In early 2023, Serta filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and concluded financial restructuring later that year.
Serta sells through third-party retailers like Sleep Country Canada and The Brick, as well as individual suppliers and retailers. This means that you will be subject to the individual retailer’s policies such as return policies.

Is Serta Perfect Sleeper a good mattress?
Serta Perfect Sleeper Elite Percevall performed well in third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us) and has exceptional edge support. That said, it’s difficult to recommend a mattress without many cooling features—and a company with poor offsite customer review ratings on third-party review sites.

It offers the same zoned support as Percevall, paired with several advanced cooling features, a longer sleep trial and warranty, and a free bedding bundle. How long does a Serta Perfect Sleeper last?
According to experts, a good mattress should last 7–10 years. However, this can vary depending on the materials used in the mattress’s construction and how frequently it is used. There’s no strict rule, but if you notice visible sagging, lumps, or a decline in comfort and support, it may be time to replace it. Regular maintenance and proper care can help extend a mattress’s lifespan.
