Zinus Mattress Construction
The Zinus Green Tea Mattress has 3 layers of memory foam. These layers are CertiPUR-US® certified.
- Layer 1: The top layer is 3″ of BioFoam memory foam, infused with charcoal and green tea. This helps keep the mattress fresher for a longer time and helps to relieve aches and pains.
- Layer 2: This 2″ transition layer is a layer of Zinus Comfort Foam® designed to provide consistent support and softness while stopping you from sinking in too deep.
- Layer 3: The 7″ foam base layer is designed to support the upper layers, offer full-body pressure-point relief, and help provide long-term durability.
The polyester-based mattress cover is not machine washable. In case of any spills or stains, the mattress should be spot-cleaned only. Older models of this mattress may contain fiberglass to meet United States regulations for fire safety, but more recent models use a rayon-based fire retardant.

MattressReviews.ca commissions licensed third-party engineers and uses public data to rate mattresses on over 40 criteria.
This allows us to accurately rate and compare the performance of the mattresses reviewed on this website. Engineer independence and operating standards help ensure their results remain unbiased, valid, and reliable.
Each mattress was evaluated using the same strict mattress testing methodology to protect the overall integrity of the results. Foam and hybrid mattress test results are scored on separate scales to ensure fair contextual performance representation as much as possible. The full report has been given the official stamp of approval from an APEGA-certified engineer operating under a strict ethical code of conduct.
Mattress testing conducted outside of this professional standard poses a greater risk of validity errors or reviewer bias.

Edge Support
A mattress with good edge support allows you to sit on the edge of the bed or lie farther away from the middle without sliding off. In third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), the Zinus Green Tea mattress scored 3.3/10 for edge support. This is below average for a foam mattress.
(Looking for a mattress with greater edge support? Try Juno with its higher score of 8.0/10.)
8.6 /10
Motion Isolation
When a mattress has high motion isolation, it can soften nighttime movements from the other side of the bed and help you get a more restful sleep. Foam mattresses often provide greater motion isolation than hybrid models. Zinus Green Tea earned a motion isolation score of 8.6/10, which is excellent for a foam mattress.
1.9 /10
Bounce
Bounce is a matter of personal preference. Higher bounce allows you to easily change sleep positions, while lower bounce gives you a more consistent surface. Foam mattresses tend to be less bouncy than hybrid models. Zinus Green Tea earned a bounce score of 1.9/10, which is very low for a foam mattress.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Zinus mattress cover machine washable?
No. Zinus warns that its mattress covers should not be removed. This is because of the fire sock beneath the cover, which may contain fiberglass (depending on where and when you bought the mattress). Instead, spot-clean any stains on your mattress cover.

What does the Zinus warranty cover?
Zinus’s 10-year limited warranty covers manufacturing defects only. This coverage doesn’t include “deterioration of the foam that results in an indentation of less than 1.5 inches, not associated with a sag in the foundation, box spring or platform or mattress.” Any damage (including stains) will void the warranty, so Zinus recommends using an additional stain-resistant pad to protect the mattress.
Where are Zinus mattresses made?
Zinus manufactures its products across Asia and North America. The company currently manufactures the Zinus Green Tea mattress in China.
What Zinus Green Tea mattress alternatives should I consider?
We recommend the Juno mattress instead. It’s designed with a layer of cooling gel foam and it earned an excellent edge support score. Juno has a 120-night sleep trial, the option of free return pickup with a full refund, and a 15-year warranty. Accessibly priced at $499 for a queen size, it comes with a free bedding bundle that includes a sheet set, pillow(s), and a mattress protector.
