The manufacturer’s product page describes this mattress as medium-firm, like the first Origin, but we’ve noticed that the mattress feels firmer than the previous version. It also lacks advanced cooling features that are essential for memory foam mattresses, like cooling gel or phase-change material.
Origin 2.0 has reasonable motion isolation, though not as good as the original Origin mattress. This mattress also tested average for edge support, which is considerably lower than the previous version. For an upgrade, Origin 2.0 tests noticeably poorer than the original version.
At $995 for a queen size, Polysleep Origin 2.0 has a price point similar to other cooling memory foam mattresses like Octave Vista. However, Polysleep offers only a 100-night sleep trial. This is far less time than Octave’s 365-night trial, which gives you more time to ensure your mattress is right for you. Polysleep offers a 100-night sleep trial to test your mattress at home. However, this trial isn’t available if you live in the Canadian territories. Competing brands also offer significantly longer trials. For example, Octave comes with a 365-night sleep trial to make sure you love your mattress.
If you don’t like your Origin 2.0, you can exchange it once for a different Polysleep mattress. This option is only available after sleeping on the mattress for at least 45 nights—nearly half the length of the sleep trial.
You will need to pay the difference in cost if you’re upgrading to a more expensive mattress. You’ll also be using the same (now much shorter) sleep trial. It’s not clear whether Polysleep provides a partial refund if you switch to a less expensive mattress.
Finally, Polysleep only offers a 10-year warranty. This is industry standard—but some competing mattress brands do better. Octave provides a 15-year warranty, giving you considerably longer coverage.

The polyester/polyviscose cover is machine washable. While the cover is designed to be breathable, it doesn’t use phase-change material or offer other cooling features. Memory foam is known for sleeping hot, so Origin 2.0 may not be ideal if you’re shopping for a cooling mattress.
