- 365-night sleep trial, 20-year warranty, and free bedding bundle with purchase
- Superior motion isolation
- Cooling gel comfort layer
Douglas Original is our pick for the best RV mattress in Canada. Douglas provides excellent motion isolation, edge support, pressure-point relief, and cooling features for a more comfortable sleep. It comes with a 365-night sleep trial and a 20-year warranty, all for just $799 for a short queen size.
Douglas is available in the three most popular RV mattress sizes: bunk, three-quarter, and short queen. (For this review, all prices shown will be for the short queen RV mattress size.) You can also choose from one of three models: Douglas Original, Douglas Alpine, and Douglas Summit.
RV mattresses are often hard, thin, and uncomfortable due to low-quality materials and the need for a low-profile design. They also typically don’t have advanced features like cooling, which can be important when travelling in your RV in the warmer months. But you don’t have to sleep on the mattress that comes with your RV. You can always upgrade to a quality Canadian mattress like Douglas instead.
Douglas is designed with advanced cooling and comfort features like ecoLight® gel-infused foam, plant-based Infinitex™ fibres in the machine-washable cover, and responsive Elastex® foam. With Douglas, you can sleep as comfortably on vacation as you do at home.
At MattressReviews.ca, we objectively rate popular mattresses to determine the best RV mattress in Canada based on the features that matter to you, like price, firmness, edge support, warranty, and more. If you’re looking for the best-rated RV mattress in Canada, you’ll enjoy your next on-the-road adventure even more with one of our top choices.

The Juno mattress might be the right fit if you are a side, back, or stomach sleeper who wants:
Silk & Snow offers a 10″ RV mattress with the same construction as their foam mattress, priced at $750 for an RV short queen. It has above-average motion isolation and edge support, as well as a machine-washable cover. Silk & Snow also comes in RV bunk small and three-quarter sizes. That said, it comes with fewer cooling features and a shorter warranty than our top pick Douglas.
The S&S Mattress is an updated version of the company’s first mattress, Silk & Snow Original. This memory foam mattress is available in two firmness options: firm and medium-firm. The medium-firm option we purchased for this review is priced at $750 for a short queen size. It’s available through the Silk & Snow website and at Sleep Country.
Silk & Snow has limited customer reviews and a very good star rating for the S&S Mattress on its website. However, this doesn’t match feedback shared on third-party review sites like Better Business Bureau and Trustpilot. Customers have reported significant issues with product quality, warranty claims, and returns, as well as difficulty contacting customer service.
The Silk & Snow Original foam mattress might be the right fit if you are a back or side sleeper who wants:
The Endy RV mattress has the same construction as the Endy foam mattress, but it comes in a short queen size to fit a camper/RV. It’s not available in smaller or larger sizes, like an RV twin or king. Priced at $895, the Endy RV mattress has above-average edge support and motion isolation, as well as a machine-washable cover. However, it lacks advanced cooling features, so you may notice overheating at night—especially during summer travels. Endy also offers a shorter sleep trial and warranty than Douglas.
The Endy is an all-foam mattress available through Endy, a bed-in-a-box mattress company that operates mainly online. Endy was acquired by Sleep Country Canada in 2018; however, it operates as an independent subsidiary.
The Endy has three firmness options for its regular models: the medium-firm base model, a firm model, and a plush model that’s available for an extra $200. The Endy RV short queen is only available in a medium-firm feel, and retails for $895. This price is about average for a foam mattress.
However, many other mattresses at this price point offer more features. The Endy doesn’t have advanced cooling features. It only comes with an industry-average 100-night sleep trial and a 10-year warranty, with the option to extend this warranty to 15 years if you sign up for their email list.
Looking for more premium features at a lower price point? Consider Canadian competitor brands like Douglas instead. With more cooling features, a 365-night sleep trial, and a 20-year warranty, Douglas may be a better option at a lower price of $799 for an RV short queen size.
The Endy mattress might be the right fit if you are a back or stomach sleeper who wants:
At $1,500 for an RV short queen size, Haven LUX Rejuvenate is one of the most expensive options on this list. This mattress offers zoned support and a few advanced cooling features, like copper-infused latex, cooling gel foam, and a bamboo blend mattress cover. This cover isn’t removable or machine washable. Haven LUX Rejuvenate can be customized to any RV size, but because it’s custom, it won’t come with the company’s 100-night sleep trial.
Haven LUX Rejuvenate Classic is a latex mattress with a firm feel, though it also comes in a softer firmness. For an additional cost, sleepers can upgrade to have additional pressure relief and a medium-firm feel. It has good edge support and has features like copper-infused latex and a bamboo blend mattress cover.
The Haven LUX Rejuvenate Classic mattress might be the right fit if you are a stomach sleeper or back sleeper who wants:
This is the only hybrid RV mattress on this list and the most expensive option at $1,917 for a short queen size. It’s also available in RV king size, but not RV bunk or three-quarter sizes. This mattress is made in the USA, stands 11.5″ tall, and has 5 layers, including breathable pocketed coils—the only cooling feature included with the mattress by default. You’ll need to pay an additional $400 for the GlacioTex Cooling Cover, which is not machine washable.
Helix Midnight is a hybrid mattress sold by Helix Sleep, a customizable bed-in-a-box company based in the United States. Helix allows you to add your own cooling and comfort features to customize the mattress for your sleep needs.
However, that means certain cooling and comfort features don’t come standard. Midnight’s base model only comes with a “breathable” top cover—none of the advanced cooling features we would expect to see for a mattress that costs $1,917 for an RV short queen size. When you factor in add-ons, your final purchase could be a lot more expensive.
The Helix Midnight mattress might be the right fit if you are a side or back sleeper who wants:
The Lucid 10″ foam mattress has above-average edge support and motion isolation. It’s available through retailers like Amazon at $404 for a short queen size. Amazon doesn’t offer returns for unboxed mattresses, so you won’t receive a sleep trial if you purchase from there. With other retailers, prices and policies will vary. The mattress also doesn’t come in additional sizes, and the cover isn’t machine washable.
Lucid Memory Foam is a foam mattress that features multiple firmness options, hypoallergenic construction, and cooling gel. This mattress is priced for the budget market at just $404 for a short queen size on Amazon Canada. It’s also available via Wayfair and Walmart, but product prices vary across retailers.
Compared to competing budget-value mattresses like Juno, Lucid effectively has no sleep trial for Canadian shoppers who order through Amazon. Its warranty is also just the 10-year industry standard. Customer reviews often complain that the mattress sags and degrades (as seen here and here), or causes back pain (as seen here and here). Many more reviews also say the mattress has problems with mould (as seen here and here).
Other reviews report that Lucid failed to expand to its full height after unboxing (as seen here and here), which was the case with the mattress we ordered. This may have been due to a relatively long time spent in storage. According to the law label on the mattress we ordered, it was manufactured in April 2022—two years before we received it.
Lucid Memory Foam might be a good choice if you are a side, back, or stomach sleeper who wants:

Juno comes with a 120-night sleep trial and a 15-year warranty.
Most RVs don’t have room for standard mattress sizes, so you’ll need a mattress that’s no more than 75″ long and narrower than your mattress at home. Width can vary depending on the size of the bed frame. Common camper mattress sizes include:
Depending on your RV, you may need a less-popular RV mattress size like short king or Olympic queen. These can be more difficult to find. To get a better idea of mattress sizes that will work for you—and fit in your RV—check out our guide to RV mattress sizes.
RV mattresses differ from standard-sized mattresses in profile and height. They tend to be shorter than regular-sized mattresses so they can easily fit into a camper/RV. The most common RV mattress sizes include bunk, three-quarter, and short queen.
RV queen mattress measurements are the same as a regular queen mattress at 60″ x 80″. However, a short queen mattress is slightly shorter at 60″ x 75″. It provides the same width but reduced length to fit more compact spaces, making it a popular choice for couples sharing a camper.
The RV mattress dimensions for an RV king mattress are 72″ x 80″, which is slightly narrower than standard king size mattresses to fit into more compact spaces.
You can use a regular mattress in an RV if your RV bed frame will fit a standard-sized double, queen, or king-size mattress. However, consider the weight restrictions of your RV before putting a new mattress inside. Standard-sized mattresses tend to be heavier, and they may not fit through your RV doors and hallway during setup.
Temperatures can fluctuate significantly, especially here in Canada, and that’s hard on both foam layers and metal coils. Any damage to your mattress from improper storage could potentially void your warranty. However, leaving your mattress in the RV during cold weather shouldn’t cause any damage as long as you take the proper precautions:
If you’re worried about the quality and lifespan of your RV mattress, you can always bring it inside the house during extra-cold weather.
Mattresses fall into many different categories. Each has different characteristics that are a good fit for a variety of sleep styles. Here are just a few types of mattresses:
Foam and combination foam mattresses are the best and most affordable types of RV mattresses. Unless you’re looking at a custom mattress, foam mattresses are also the easiest to find. Not all mattress types are available in all RV sizes.
When you’re choosing a mattress, it’s important to consider more than just how comfortable it is. There are a whole range of factors to keep in mind, which we list below. (And when you’re ready to buy, make sure you buy a mattress online vs. in store.)
