Medium-firm mattresses are suitable for all sleep styles as they balance comfort and support.
Simba 2500 has a firmness score of 6.1/10, classifying it as medium-firm. Logan & Cove Frontier scored similarly at 6.3/10. Either of these mattresses would suit a wide variety of sleep styles.

Edge support can be a very important consideration for some when choosing a mattress, particularly for those who sit or sleep near the edge. Simba 2500 performed reasonably well in this category, earning an above-average score of 6.0/10. This score indicates that some sinkage may occur when sitting on the edge.
On the other hand, Logan & Cove Frontier earned a higher edge support score of 7.3/10. Logan & Cove may be your preferred choice if you’re often sitting or lying on the edge of your mattress.
When tested for motion isolation, Logan & Cove Frontier received a very good score of 7.0/10. This high score means you shouldn’t feel most movements coming from the other side of the mattress, helping you enjoy more undisturbed sleep.
Simba 2500 also performed well in motion isolation, earning a higher score of 7.7/10. With this performance, you should experience minimal disturbances, whether you’re sharing the mattress with a partner, pet, or child.
Because of their innerspring system, hybrid mattresses are known to be bouncier than their all-foam counterparts. Elevated bounce scores typically make it easier to change positions during the night and get out of bed in the morning.
Simba 2500 scored 3.9/10 for bounce. This is below average for a hybrid mattress and may be due to the fact that Simba uses micro coils rather than larger coils. In comparison, Logan & Cove Frontier demonstrated an average amount of bounce with its score of 4.8/10.
When choosing a mattress for hot sleepers, Logan & Cove Frontier is an excellent choice. It features a quilted top cover with cooling nanofibres, breathable hollow fibre fill, and cooling gel foam. The internal layers include additional gel foam, breathable Elastex® foam, and individually pocketed coils that promote airflow. These cooling technologies earned Frontier a cooling feature score of 4.7/10.
Simba 2500, on the other hand, performed well but slightly lower with a score of 4.0/10. The mattress received this score due to its open-cell foam for breathability, graphite-infused foam layer, and pocketed micro coils for air circulation.

The Logan & Cove Frontier mattress features a plush Euro-top cover made from a premium blend of polyester, polyethylene, and spandex, with diamond tufting and accent stitching for a luxurious feel. It incorporates CryoFusion™ cooling nanofibres, a breathable hollow fibre fill, and gel-infused foam to ensure a cool and comfortable night’s sleep.
Since the mattress cover is not removable, spills or stains will need to be spot-cleaned. Fortunately, a mattress protector is included in the free bedding bundle offered with a Logan & Cove mattress, making maintenance easier.
The Simba 2500 mattress features a hypoallergenic top cover made from a blend of polyester, polypropylene, and elastane. Additionally, the cover is not machine washable and can only be spot-cleaned. Unlike Logan & Cove, Simba mattresses don’t come with a free mattress protector with purchase.

Simba 2500 comes with a 100-night sleep trial. If you choose to return the mattress, you must bring the mattress back to the store yourself, as Sleep Country does not provide return pickup. If you upgrade to a more expensive mattress during the exchange, you must also pay the price difference.
Logan & Cove, on the other hand, offers a 365-night risk-free sleep trial. This generous trial period allows you to test the mattress at home before deciding if it’s the right fit. Their policy also includes free pickup and a full refund if you choose to return the mattress for any reason during the trial.

Sleep Country may resell returned mattresses at a discounted rate if they are in a resellable condition, whereas Logan & Cove guarantees that no used mattresses will be resold.
Additionally, Logan & Cove provides a longer warranty of 15 years, compared to Simba’s industry-standard 10-year warranty.

Choosing the perfect hybrid mattress that meets all your needs and fits your budget can feel overwhelming, but Logan & Cove makes it easier. This luxury hybrid mattress brand offers three distinct models that cater to different comfort preferences and budgets, providing quality and value without compromise.
Logan & Cove Choice, the company’s entry-level mattress, offers premium foam, advanced cooling features, and individually wrapped zoned pocket coils for reliable support. Logan & Cove Frontier takes comfort a step further with a Euro-top cover for added plushness and a micro-coil layer that provides more contoured support, adapting to your body’s curves for enhanced pressure relief.
At the top of the range, Logan & Cove Pinnacle stands out with an even thicker Euro-top and an additional layer of micro-coils. This design adds extra cushioning and luxurious comfort while boosting support and responsiveness. The dual micro-coil layers contribute to better motion isolation, improved airflow, and a stable sleep surface that cradles the body—ideal for sleepers who want a hotel-quality feel at home.
All Logan & Cove mattresses come with a generous 365-night sleep trial and 15-year warranty. They also feature luxury detailing without the luxury price, with models starting at just $799.
If you’re looking for a great hybrid mattress with a few luxury features, Logan & Cove Choice is an excellent investment for your bedroom. But if you’re looking for more plush comfort and body-contouring support, both Frontier and Pinnacle have what you’re looking for, and at a competitive price.
Get the mattress that’s right for you.
When comparing Logan & Cove Choice vs Frontier or Logan & Cove Frontier vs Pinnacle, all mattresses perform well in third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us). All mattresses have a medium-firm feel, but have different levels of plush comfort in their top covers. They also all have good edge support, motion isolation, and advanced cooling features so you can enjoy a great night’s sleep and don’t have to worry about sleeping hot.
Coming from the same company, they all have the same 365-night sleep trial and 15-year warranty. All three arrive at your doorstep through convenient bed-in-a-box delivery, and you’ll receive free return pickup service with a full refund during your sleep trial if you’re not satisfied.

This allows us to accurately rate and compare the performance of the mattresses reviewed on this website. Engineer independence and operating standards help ensure their results remain unbiased, valid, and reliable.
Each mattress was evaluated using the same strict mattress testing methodology to protect the overall integrity of the results. Foam and hybrid mattress test results are scored on separate scales to ensure fair contextual performance representation as much as possible. The full report has been given the official stamp of approval from an APEGA-certified engineer operating under a strict ethical code of conduct.
Mattress testing conducted outside of this professional standard poses a greater risk of validity errors or reviewer bias.
Hybrid mattresses can often feel firmer than all-foam mattresses due to their coil layers. However, luxury mattress brands like Logan & Cove often add Euro-top covers to their mattresses, which can change the feel of the mattress.
All Logan & Cove mattresses have a medium-firm feel, but they vary slightly in firmness levels. According to third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), the tight-top Logan & Cove Choice scored 6.9/10, making it the firmest in the lineup. Logan & Cove Frontier, with its Euro-top construction, falls in the middle of the range, scoring 6.3/10. Logan & Cove Pinnacle, with its thicker Euro-top cover, is rated at 6.0/10.
Both Frontier and Pinnacle provide more of a “hug” compared to Choice, offering extra contouring while still allowing you to change sleep positions comfortably across all three models.
Hybrid mattresses typically have more edge support than foam mattresses, but less than innerspring mattresses. Logan & Cove Choice sets itself apart with an edge support score of 7.5/10, which is a very good score for a hybrid. You can sit on the edge of the mattress or sleep farther away from the middle without sinking into the sidewalls.
The Euro-top Frontier scores slightly lower for edge support at 7.3/10. Pinnacle’s thicker Euro-top gives it a score of 6.0/10—which is still above-average for a hybrid.
Logan & Cove Choice earned a very good score of 7.5/10. This means you can enjoy a restful night’s sleep without being woken by the movements of your partner, kids, or pets—which is important if you’re a light sleeper who wakes up easily during the night.
In comparison, Logan & Cove Frontier has a motion isolation score of 7.0/10, and Pinnacle has a score of 5.5/10. You’ll feel slight movements from the other side of the bed with these two mattresses, due to the higher number of coils that increase the responsiveness of the mattress. However, you should still enjoy a good night’s sleep on either mattress.
Bounce is mostly a matter of preference. A higher level of bounce makes it easy to change positions, while lower bounce helps provide a more consistent sleep surface for a more restful sleep. Logan & Cove Choice has a slightly above-average bounce score of 5.8/10—you’ll get a relatively smooth sleep, but with enough spring to help you get up in the morning.
Logan & Cove Frontier has a lower bounce score of 4.8/10, and Logan & Cove Pinnacle scored slightly higher at 5.1/10. Frontier and Pinnacle’s Euro-top construction gives you added plushness while still giving you the responsiveness you need to lift yourself out of bed.
Logan & Cove Choice earned a cooling feature score of 4.4/10. This score is thanks to the mattress’s quilted CryoFusion™ cooling nanofibres top cover, its top layer of breathable hollow fibre fill and cooling gel, layers of ecoLuxe® cooling gel foam and premium Elastex® foam, and individually wrapped pocket coils that increase airflow.
Frontier and Pinnacle both earned a cooling feature score of 4.7/10. Frontier and Pinnacle improve on Choice’s advanced cooling technologies by including layers of aeroduct micro-coils, which increase airflow throughout both mattresses.
Get the mattress that’s right for you.
All Logan & Cove mattresses are luxury hybrid models that are designed with premium foam, advanced cooling features, and individually wrapped pocket coils. Frontier and Pinnacle both feature Euro-top covers and aero-duct micro-coils for better airflow and contoured support.
Logan & Cove Choice features a quilted tight-top cover infused with CryoFusion™ cooling nanofibers, giving it a cool-to-the-touch feel. The mattress cover isn’t machine washable but includes diamond tufting and accent stitching.
Frontier upgrades on Choice’s features with a plush Euro-top cover, making it perfect for those who want something on the softer side of medium-firm. Its aeroduct micro-coils also improve on the existing three-zone support, giving your sleep a more contoured feel.
Pinnacle upgrades the luxury comfort even further, featuring a thicker Euro-top cover. Its two layers of responsive micro-coils sandwiched between the Elastex® foam layer add the most body-contouring support we’ve seen in a mattress.

Want a queen-size mattress that provides more value for your dollar? Consider Octave Horizon instead.
Essentia offers free shipping to most regions within Canada, though you’ll have to pay for shipping to the Territories and remote regions. Essentia uses FedEx to deliver their mattresses in Canada and in the contiguous United States. For $249, you can opt in for their “Home Delivery” service, which includes scheduled delivery, mattress setup, and mattress removal for your old mattress if you choose.
Essentia’s mattresses are made to order. Once your order is placed, it will take 2–3 business days to process your order, plus 15 business days to produce the mattress. Including dispatch and delivery time, your mattress should arrive in 10–20 business days.
In our experience, it took a full month to receive the mattress we ordered. Communication from Essentia was sparse during this time, and we only received information when we contacted them directly to ask for updates. We expect this would be frustrating for other customers, considering the price paid for a queen-size mattress.
Essentia is heavier than many other mattresses we’ve unboxed previously. Paired with the fact that it arrived in a larger-than-average box, we found this mattress very difficult to move. This difficulty continued after unboxing—because the mattress is so floppy, it required three people to move.
Essentia gives you 120 nights to try the Grateful Eight mattress. This is slightly longer than the industry average of 100 nights (but is still one-third the trial length of competing mattresses like Octave Horizon). The company offers free return service, including pickups. Your refund depends on the condition of the mattress. If it’s approved, a “nominal return fee” of 9% of the listed retail price will be deducted from your refund. For a queen-size mattress, this means you’ll pay a return fee of $242.
You will not receive the same sleep trial if you purchase your mattress from Costco, as you will be subject to Costco’s return policy instead. Costco only provides a return pickup service for mattresses purchased online. The company’s standard return policy applies, meaning your return has to be approved if you want your money back.
The Essentia Grateful Eight mattress is covered by the manufacturer’s 20-year limited warranty, with a separate 1-year warranty for the mattress cover. This also applies to Essentia mattresses purchased from Costco. The warranty offers full coverage for the first 10 years and prorated coverage for the next 10 years, covering manufacturing defects only.
Customers on third-party review sites such as Trustpilot have mentioned issues with warranty claims and returning Essentia mattresses, citing difficulty with their customer service and long delays in receiving their refunds.
Get an industry-leading 365-night sleep trial and free returns with Octave Horizon.
Essentia Grateful Eight stands 8” high and has 4 distinct interior layers. The foams used in this mattress are not CertiPUR-US® certified, but the textiles are GOLS (Global Organic Latex Standard) and GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified.
The mattress cover, which is only covered by a 1-year warranty separate from the 20-year mattress warranty, is made of GOTS-certified organic cotton. It’s removable and machine-washable. Under the top cover, there’s also an organic cotton liner, which the company says prevents wear and tear. Essentia also claims that its proprietary latex foam formula protects your mattress from mould, but they don’t explain how.
Want a mattress that contains latex and promotes a good night’s sleep? Consider Octave Horizon instead.

Essentia was founded in 2006 in Montreal, Canada. While their mattresses are made in Canada, Essentia sells their products worldwide, including to locations in the UK, Australia, US, and Singapore. They also have showrooms in Toronto, ON, and in Laval, QC.
Essentia has a history of making unsupported claims about their mattresses. The FTC barred them from making unsubstantiated claims about their mattresses after the company claimed their mattresses are made without VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds,) among other concerns. The FTC cited tests that showed these claims were provably not true.
Essentia has a non-accredited profile with the Better Business Bureau. While the company is rated “A+” (unaccredited), it also has no customer reviews. Essentia is also rated “Average” on Trustpilot. Customer reviews on other third-party websites complain of mattress odour and off-gassing, issues with returns and warranty claims, issues with customer service, and back pain after using the mattress.
Logan & Cove Choice, Endy Hybrid, and Emma Hybrid Comfort are all mattresses from well-known online mattress brands available in Canada. All three come with a sleep trial with free return-pickups and full refunds, some cooling features, and performed well in third-party engineering tests (commissioned by us).
In a head-to-head comparison between all three, however, Logan & Cove Choice outperformed the other two with its better motion isolation, multiple advanced cooling features, a lengthy 365-night sleep trial and 15-year warranty, and a free bedding bundle with your mattress purchase—all at an affordable price of $999 for a queen size.

When comparing Logan & Cove vs Endy vs Emma, Logan & Cove Choice stands out in many categories.
Logan & Cove offers a generous 365-night sleep trial and a 15-year warranty. Along with advanced cooling features to keep you cool and comfortable, Logan & Cove mattresses also come with a free bedding bundle with your mattress purchase, so that it is sleep-ready when it arrives.
In comparison, the Endy Hybrid mattress comes with a 100-night sleep trial and 10-year warranty. Endy has occasional sales where they offer some free sleep accessories with your purchase.
Emma Hybrid Comfort has a 365-night sleep trial and 10-year warranty. While Emma is a well-known company, the Competition & Markets Authority (CMA) reprimanded it in 2023 for using false advertising and misleading its customers with disingenuous “discounts” when only a small number of products were sold at the “full” price.

Medium-firm mattresses are ideal for all sleep styles because they provide a good balance of comfort and support. Whether you sleep on your side, back, or stomach, either mattress should offer a comfortable level of firmness.
According to third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), Logan & Cove Choice scored 6.9/10, placing it in the medium-firm category. Medium-firm mattresses are well suited for all sleep styles.
Emma Hybrid Comfort, on the other hand, scored 7.8/10 for firmness, and Endy Hybrid scored 7.0/10. While Endy is verging on medium-firm, this places both of these mattresses in the firm category. Back and stomach sleepers might find this mattress offers good support, but side or lightweight sleepers may find they experience pressure points.

Good edge support is important if you like sitting up or lounging on the side of your bed, tend to sleep closer to the edge or need extra stability for getting in and out of bed—especially if you or your partner have mobility challenges.
Thanks to their metal inner coils, hybrid mattresses generally have better edge support than foam mattresses. Endy Hybrid received an excellent edge support score of 8.8/10, while Logan & Cove followed suit with a very good edge support score of 7.5/10. Emma Hybrid Comfort earned an edge support score of 7.3/10, which is still very good, but the lowest of the three mattresses.
Good motion isolation lets you sleep on a mattress peacefully without being disturbed by your partner, kids, or pets. Movements on one side of the bed should be barely noticeable on the other, ensuring uninterrupted rest for everyone.
The Endy Hybrid and Emma Hybrid both earned above-average motion isolation scores. Endy scored 6.5/10, while Emma scored 6.7/10.
While these are good scores, Logan & Cove Choice outperforms Endy Hybrid and Emma Hybrid with a motion isolation score of 7.5/10. If you share your bed with a partner or are a light sleeper who wants a mattress that provides excellent motion isolation for undisturbed sleep, you may want to consider the Logan & Cove Choice.
Innerspring and hybrid mattresses tend to be bouncier and “springier” than all-foam ones. While bounce is more of a preference, it can indicate how easily you can change sleep positions and whether you might feel “stuck” in the mattress. A higher bounce score can make it easier to get out of bed and change positions.
Endy Hybrid and Logan & Cove Choice both scored 5.8/10 for bounce, a good score to provide a balanced amount of bounce and support. A balance of bounce and a high motion isolation score can help you simultaneously enjoy undisturbed sleep and the ease of getting in and out of bed effortlessly.
In comparison, Emma Hybrid Comfort earned a similar but slightly lower bounce score of 5.2/10.
Emma Hybrid Comfort earned a low cooling features score of 3.0/10. While the mattress isn’t advertised as having cooling properties, it earned points for its moisture-wicking mattress cover, open-cell foams, and individually wrapped coils that allow for air circulation.
Endy Hybrid, also a mattress that does not advertise cooling features, performed slightly higher with a score of 3.2/10. This mattress also has open-cell foams and a layer of pocket coils, but additionally includes a cooling gel infusion, which improves its temperature-regulating abilities.
When it comes to cooling features, Logan & Cove Choice performed the best of all three mattresses with a score of 4.4/10. Logan & Cove Choice comes with a cooling top cover with gel-infused foam and cooling nanofibres, an additional layer of gel foam to dissipate heat, pocket coils that promote airflow, and a layer of breathable Elastex® foam. For a refreshing sleep with balanced temperatures, Logan & Cove Choice stands out as the best option.
Get very good edge support, motion isolation, and multiple cooling features with Logan & Cove.
Logan & Cove Choice, Emma Hybrid Comfort and Endy Hybrid are all hybrid mattresses. All three mattresses are CertiPUR-US® certified, but they have varying layers and construction to provide different benefits.
Logan & Cove Choice stands 12" tall and contains 4 layers. The cover combines polyester, high-density polyethylene (HDPE), and spandex. The integrated quilted tight-top features cooling nanofibers, breathable hollow fill, and gel-infused foam for a cooler, more comfortable sleep. It’s not removable or machine washable and should be spot-cleaned.
Endy Hybrid stands 12" tall and has 5 layers. The mattress cover is made of polyester and is lined with Endy Foam and polyester fibre fill. This cover isn’t machine washable, so you will need to spot-clean any spills or stains.
This mattress doesn’t position its coils on the bottom layer, which is unusual for a hybrid. This mattress has a machine-washable top cover made from a polyester/elastane fabric blend.

When you’re comparing delivery, sleep trial, and warranty for Logan & Cove vs Endy vs Emma, there’s a clear winner. Only Logan & Cove has the longest sleep trial and warranty of all three mattresses.
Both Logan & Cove and Endy ship mattresses by ground to most of Canada via FedEx, with free shipping for most customers nationwide. A Logan & Cove mattress will be on your doorstep within 2–11 business days, including dispatch and delivery time. In contrast, an Endy mattress will be delivered in 1–8 business days once ordered.
Emma also provides free shipping to most locations in Canada. For Ontario customers, scheduled delivery and in-home set-up is available and are handled through their courier, Bolt, while deliveries to other locations are shipped by various couriers. Shipping timelines vary throughout the site, but orders likely ship within 1–8 business days. All three brands deliver their mattresses in a cardboard box, and additional fees may apply for some remote locations.

Logan & Cove’s generous 365-night sleep trial is one of the longest in the industry. Emma also offers a 365-night sleep trial, and Endy offers a shorter 100-night trial. Logan & Cove and Endy donate or recycle returned mattresses, depending on regulations and availability in your area.
While Emma’s Terms & Conditions states that returned mattresses should be in a “donable” condition, under their FAQ section, they mention that they offer “free pick-up of your mattress for disposal.” It is not clear if they dispose or donate returned mattresses.
Logan & Cove also comes with a longer 15-year warranty, which is much longer than the industry average 10-year warranty offered by Endy and Emma. For Endy, you can extend that warranty to 15 years by becoming an Endy VIP. However, this involves signing up for their email list.

Douglas, Casper, and Tempur-Pedic are all well-known mattress brands. In a head-to-head comparison, only Douglas Summit offers excellent motion isolation, the most cooling features, a 365-night sleep trial, a 20-year warranty, and a free bedding bundle with your purchase. Best of all, Douglas is priced at just $1,299 for a queen size, compared to Casper’s $1,499 and Tempur-Pedic’s $2,799.
In comparison, Casper and Tempur-Pedic have fewer features at a higher cost. Both have a lower number of cooling features, as well as offer much shorter sleep trials and warranties compared to Douglas.
Our research also showed that Casper and Tempur-Pedic had low ratings based on customer reviews on third-party platforms like Trustpilot and BBB. Casper’s combined Trustpilot page for its American and Canadian operations is rated “Poor” on Trustpilot, and its parent company, Sleep Country, has a customer review score of 1.28/5 stars on BBB despite its “A+” (unaccredited) rating. Tempur-Pedic is rated “Bad” rating on Trustpilot and “B” (unaccredited) on BBB with a 1/5 star customer review rating.
In comparison, Douglas’s parent company, GoodMorning.com, is rated “A+” on Better Business Bureau with a 4.89/5 star customer review rating, and Douglas and GoodMorning.com are both rated “Excellent” on Trustpilot. If you are looking for a mattress with a generous sleep trial, a much longer warranty, and at the lowest price point, Douglas will be a more appealing option.

Compared to The Casper vs Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Cloud, Douglas Summit stands out as it has more features. It has excellent motion isolation and advanced cooling features that Casper and Tempur-Pedic lack, including a machine-washable CoolSense® cover and a layer of cooling gel foam.
Douglas’s 365-night sleep trial is over three times as long as its competitors, with Casper’s trial being just 100 nights and Tempur-Pedic’s being 90 nights. Douglas also offers twice as much warranty coverage with its 20-year policy, compared to just 10 years for both Casper and Tempur-Pedic. Overall, Douglas Summit—the most advanced mattress in the Douglas lineup—provides the most value at the lowest price point.
We’ve gathered all the information you need to compare Douglas, Casper, and Tempur-Pedic mattresses accurately so you can choose the right one for you.

Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Cloud scored 5.5/10 for firmness, placing it on the lowest possible end of the medium-firm category, just verging on a medium feel. The Casper’s 6.3/10 firmness score also makes it medium-firm.
Douglas Summit offers a touch more support with its slightly firmer score of 6.7/10. This means you’ll get the support you need while still benefitting from the comfort of its plush foam layers and cooling gel foam. No matter what position you sleep in, you’ll likely find that any of these three mattresses will suit you.
READ MORE: What firmness level is right for you?
Foam mattresses aren’t generally known for having good edge support. However, all three of these mattresses performed well for edge support. The Casper and Douglas Summit both earned a very good score of 7.5/10, while Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Cloud scored the highest at 8.5/10.
Whichever mattress you choose, you should be able to comfortably sit or lie near the edge of the bed without feeling like you’re sinking or slipping.
Motion isolation helps ensure you can enjoy a restful night’s sleep, even with a restless partner. The Casper scored 6.6/10 for motion isolation, which is an above-average score. You can sleep on this mattress without being disturbed by most of your partner’s movements. Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Cloud, on the other hand, scored 4.6/10 for motion isolation, which is below average compared to other foam mattresses.
Douglas Summit scored the highest for motion isolation with an excellent score of 8.8/10. In fact, this is the highest motion isolation score for any mattress we’ve tested so far. By effectively cancelling out any motion transfer, Douglas helps ensure a restful, undisturbed sleep.
Low bounce is important if you’re a light sleeper who’s easily woken, while higher bounce is preferred by those who enjoy a responsive mattress surface. Comparing Tempur-Pedic vs Casper, The Casper scored a 4.7/10 for bounce, which is average for a foam mattress. Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Cloud had a slightly lower bounce score of 3.6/10.
However, Douglas Summit has the lowest bounce score of all three mattresses at 3.0/10—a nice side benefit of its excellent motion isolation.
Foam mattresses can be known to trap heat, so most modern foam mattresses incorporate cooling features to help ensure breathability and airflow for comfortable sleep. Douglas, Casper, and Tempur-Pedic all feature varying levels of cooling technology
The Casper has some cooling features, with its open-cell foam and perforated foam layer earning it a score of 2.5/10. Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Cloud earned a lower score of 1.6/10—it only has a moisture-wicking top cover and a layer of pocket coils (in TEMPUR-Cloud’s “Medium Hybrid” version, which isn’t available in Canada).
Douglas Summit outperformed both mattresses, earning a cooling features score of 5.4/10. This is due to its moisture-wicking CoolSense® cover, CryoFusion™ cooling nanofibres in the top cover, phase-change material, a layer of ecoLight® cooling gel foam, and a layer of breathable Elastex® foam. If you’re looking for a refreshing mattress to keep temperatures balanced as you sleep, Douglas is a winning choice.
Get higher motion isolation and more cooling features with Douglas.
Douglas Summit, The Casper, and Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Cloud are all combination foam mattresses with three layers each. All of them have different heights and are made with different materials.
Douglas Summit’s top cover is removable and machine-washable for easy care. It’s also made using plant-based Infinitex™ fibres that wick moisture away, keeping you cool and comfortable through the night.
The Casper’s top cover, despite having a zipper, isn’t removable or machine washable. You’ll need to spot-clean the mattress in case of any spills or stains.
The TEMPUR-Cloud cover is made of a blend of polyester and spandex. It isn’t removable or machine washable. This may be due in part to the 23% “glass fiber” that makes up its internal cover, according to the mattress’s law label. While we safely removed the cover for review purposes, we don’t recommend trying this at home. The cover should be spot-cleaned only.

Douglas provides an industry-leading 365-night sleep trial and a generous 20-year warranty. This warranty is twice as long as those offered by Casper and Tempur-Pedic, and the sleep trial is over three times as long. If you decide to return the mattress during your sleep trial, you’ll get free return pickup service and a full refund with no additional fees.
With 16,300+ five-star customer reviews, Douglas has an excellent online reputation. The company maintains a rating of “Excellent” on Trustpilot and its parent company, GoodMorning.com, is rated “A+” on the Better Business Bureau with a customer star rating of 4.89/5 stars.
Casper ships with UPS and delivers mattresses directly to your door for free across most of Canada. An additional fee may apply for some remote locations. Casper customers can expect their new mattress within 5–15 business days. The mattress arrives rolled up in a cardboard box and protected by layers of plastic.
Casper offers an industry-standard 100-night sleep trial, a 10-year warranty, and free returns for online orders. That said, you should factor in Casper’s “Poor” Trustpilot rating.
If you purchase a Casper mattress from Sleep Country, you’ll need to follow Sleep Country’s exchange-only policy. This means you won’t receive a refund if you decide to return the mattress—just store credit to buy a different one. You also have to bring the mattress back to the store yourself, even if you ordered online and there isn’t a store nearby.
Note: The Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Cloud no longer seems to be available in Canada. Purchases are unavailable on the company’s dedicated page for the model. However, you may be able to find it for sale through an individual retailer or reseller.
Tempur-Pedic typically offers a 90-night trial and a 10-year warranty. Other Tempur-Pedic models can be found at stores like Sleep Country Canada, Costco, The Brick, and Leon’s. Your shipping, sleep trial, and warranty experience will vary depending on the retailer. For example, some retailers like Sleep Country only allow exchanges instead of returns.

When comparing Emma vs Logan & Cove, both mattresses have their standout features. However, Logan & Cove Choice’s medium-firm feel makes it suitable for all sleep styles, while Emma Hybrid Comfort is too firm to be enjoyed by all sleepers. The Logan & Cove mattress also performed notably higher for edge support, motion isolation, and cooling features.
Both Logan & Cove Choice and Emma Hybrid Comfort come with a 365-night sleep trial. But only Logan & Cove is made in Canada, is backed by a 15-year warranty, uses more advanced cooling technologies, and comes with free bedding bundle that includes a mattress protector, pillow(s), sheets, and pillow protector(s). Emma is available for $1,517 for a queen size, while Logan & Cove is priced at just $999, giving you more features for a lower price.

The Emma Hybrid Comfort mattress is described as medium-firm. However, testing by third-party engineers (commissioned by us) proved it feels much firmer than this, with a firmness score of 7.8/10. This firmness level should feel supportive for stomach and back sleepers, but may lack comfort, and cause too many pressure points for side sleepers.
Logan & Cove Choice scored a 6.9/10 for firmness, placing it in the medium-firm category as advertised. Medium-firm mattresses suit all sleep styles as they balance comfort and support well. Choice has a plush, comfortable surface for added comfort while still providing all the support sleepers need in any position.
If you tend to sit or sleep on the edge of your mattress, good edge support will be an important factor when choosing your next mattress. Emma Hybrid Comfort performed well for edge support, scoring 7.3/10. Logan & Cove Choice received a higher edge support score of 7.5/10. You should feel supported on the edge of either mattress and be able to get out of bed with no trouble.
When tested for motion isolation, Emma Hybrid Comfort performed well with a score of 6.7/10. This score is above average for a hybrid mattress, so you’re less likely to notice smaller movements from your partner.
However, Logan & Cove Choice received an excellent motion isolation score of 7.5/10. This high-performing score means you shouldn’t feel most movements coming from the other side of the mattress. If getting undisturbed sleep is important to you—especially if you share a bed with a partner, pet, or child—you may prefer sleeping on Logan & Cove over Emma.
Because of their innerspring system, hybrid mattresses are known to be bouncier than their all-foam counterparts. These elevated bounce scores typically make it easier to change positions throughout the night and get out of bed in the morning.
Emma Hybrid Comfort scored 5.2/10 for bounce, which is average for a hybrid mattress, while Logan & Cove Choice scored a little higher at 5.8/10.
If you value cool and comfortable sleep, Logan & Cove Choice could be a good fit. It features a moisture-wicking cooling top cover, quilted breathable fibre and cooling gel, a layer of gel-infused foam, breathable latex-like foam, and a pocketed coil system to allow for airflow. These cooling technologies earned Choice a cooling feature score of 4.4/10.
Emma, on the other hand, performed notably lower with a score of 3.0/10. Hybrid Comfort received this score because of its moisture-wicking polyester top cover, its open-cell foam for breathability, and pocketed coils for air circulation. However, these features aren’t likely to provide the same level of cooling as those found in Logan & Cove.
Choose the mattress with better edge support, motion isolation, and cooling features.
Both Logan & Cove Choice and Emma Hybrid Comfort are hybrid mattresses containing foam and spring layers to provide a comfortable sleeping experience. Emma is made up of 5 layers and stands 13” tall. Choice is 12" tall and constructed with 4 distinct layers.
Logan & Cove Choice’s cover is a premium mix of polyester, polyethylene, and spandex, with diamond tufting and accent stitching for a luxury feel. The quilted cover includes cooling nanofibres, giving you a cooler and more comfortable night’s sleep.
Emma Hybrid Comfort has a machine-washable top cover made from a polyester/elastane fabric blend. Although it’s designed to be moisture-wicking and breathable, this cover doesn’t have the advanced cooling features that competing hybrids often have.

Logan & Cove ships its mattresses for free throughout most of Canada using FedEx. Your mattress should arrive at your front door in 2–11 business days.
Emma uses various couriers to deliver within Canada, and even offers in-home setup, but only in select areas in Ontario. Scheduled delivery service is handled through Emma’s shipping partner, Bolt. Shipping times also vary, but your Emma mattress should arrive at your door in 1–8 business days.
Both mattresses come with a 365-night trial to let you get to know each bed. Logan & Cove, however, backs its mattress with a longer warranty of 15 years, compared to Emma’s 10-year warranty.
If you wish to return your mattress, either company will arrange the pickup for free and issue you a full refund. Logan & Cove works with charity partners and will donate any returned sleep-trial mattresses of good quality. Emma’s website states that they will simply coordinate your mattress’s disposal, and don’t say what happens to the mattress once it’s been returned.
On third-party review sites like Trustpilot and the Better Business Bureau, customers have raised issues concerning customer service and shipping and delivery issues. This has earned Emma a rating of just “Poor” on Trustpilot, and non-accreditation on the BBB. The BBB has also put out an alert on Emma’s parent company. In comparison, Logan & Cove’s parent company is rated “A+” and “Excellent” on BBB and Trustpilot, respectively.

Nectar Premier and Octave Vista are two foam mattresses from well-known brands with generous sleep trials and warranties. However, only Octave comes with five-zoned support, premium materials, superior motion isolation, a machine-washable cover, and engineered comfort and cooling features. Octave Vista can help you get a restful, satisfying sleep at an accessible price of just $899 for a queen size. It also comes with a 365-night risk-free sleep trial, a 15-year warranty, and a free bedding bundle for added value.
In comparison, Nectar Premier has especially poor edge support, lacks zoned support, and doesn’t come with a free bundle. The mattress supposedly has a machine-washable cover, but it can’t be removed without voiding the warranty. Nectar’s profiles on Trustpilot and the Better Business Bureau also have hundreds of customer complaints about poor product quality, misleading sale prices, long delivery delays, and issues with returns and warranty claims.
There’s really no comparison—if you’re debating whether to buy Nectar vs Octave, Octave Vista is the clear winner.

When comparing Octave vs Nectar, the Canadian-made Octave outperforms Nectar in providing a superior sleep experience. Octave has outstanding motion isolation and edge support, as well as a five-zoned support system beneath your back, hips, and knees.
Layers of high-density memory foam and responsive Elastex® foam provide cushioned, contouring comfort to relieve pain, reduce pressure points, and keep your spine in a natural posture while you sleep. This is especially important for those who want their mattress to reduce discomfort and stiffness and facilitate the natural recovery of their body.
Octave Vista also comes with advanced cooling features for a more restful sleep, like a moisture-wicking cover with cooling nanofibres, ventilated foam for air circulation, and phase-change material for temperature management. This feature-rich sleep experience comes at just $899 for a queen size. Octave’s parent company is also rated “A+” with the Better Business Bureau and “Excellent” on Trustpilot, with thousands of reviews from happy customers.
Nectar, on the other hand, provides limited sleep technologies, with fewer cooling features, no zoned support, and incredibly low edge support—all for a more expensive price tag of $1,299 for a queen size.
In addition, Nectar’s parent company, Resident Home, has a proven history of making false claims about where its mattresses are made. Resident made the news in 2021, 2022, and 2023 for repeated “false, misleading, and unsubstantiated claims,” including falsely saying products were made in the USA.

Both Octave Vista and Nectar Premier are considered medium-firm mattresses. This level of firmness is suitable for all sleep styles, whether you prefer to sleep on your side, back, or stomach.
That said, Octave Vista has a slightly firmer feel with a lower amount of “hug,” so you can change sleep positions more easily. Vista gently contours around your body with minimal sinking for a comfortable, supportive sleep in any position.
Good edge support helps you sit on the edge of the mattress and get out of bed more easily. If you have mobility issues, especially hip and joint pain, you’ll want a mattress with good edge support.
Foam mattresses are generally known for lower edge support than hybrid and innerspring mattresses. Unfortunately, Nectar Premier earned one of the lowest scores we’ve ever seen for edge support—just 0.8/10. This contradicts Nectar’s claims of providing consistent and firm edge-to-edge support. You’ll likely notice too much sinking when you sit on the edge of the bed, and could even slide off altogether.
Octave Vista is also a foam mattress, but it stands out with an exceptional edge support score of 7.5/10. Unlike with Nectar Premier, you can sit comfortably on the edge of an Octave Vista mattress and have no trouble getting up in the morning.
Good motion isolation helps you enjoy a restful night’s sleep without being disturbed by your partner, kids, or pets. Nectar Premier scored 6.0/10 for motion isolation, which is above average for a foam mattress.
That said, Octave Vista received a higher motion isolation score of 7.3/10. Octave is designed to provide a more restful, satisfying sleep with its multiple layers of high-density foam. This creates a cushioning effect so your partner’s movements don’t wake you up. You’ll also notice less tossing and turning with the mattress’s balanced support and weight distribution.
When it comes to mattresses, bounce is a matter of preference. Lower bounce is typically ideal for light sleepers who are easily woken, while higher bounce can make it easier to change positions throughout the night.
Octave Vista scored 3.7/10 for bounce, which is a typical score for a foam mattress with great motion isolation. This mattress would be ideal whether you’re a light sleeper or someone who changes sleep positions often. In comparison, Nectar Premier scored much lower at 2.2/10. With a score this low, the mattress may make it hard to change positions while you sleep.
Foam can be known to trap heat, so most modern foam mattresses come with cooling features to provide a more comfortable sleep. However, not every foam mattress is designed equally.
Nectar’s cooling features include a layer of gel-infused foam, phase-change material, and a cooling cover with polyethylene fibres. These features work together to dissipate excess heat. This earns the mattress a fairly average cooling feature score of 4.7/10.
Octave, on the other hand, goes above and beyond with an exceptional cooling feature score of 7.2/10. Its advanced temperature-regulating technologies include a moisture-wicking cover with cooling nanofibres to pull sweat away from your body, ventilated foam to help with air circulation, and phase-change material that adapts to seasonal temperature changes. This high score indicates you’re more likely to have a cooler, more comfortable sleep with Octave Vista.

Octave Vista and Nectar Premier are both combination foam mattresses containing 3 layers for comfort, transition, and support. However, when it comes to their construction, these are two very different mattresses.
Octave Vista is a 12” premium memory foam mattress made in Canada. All Octave mattresses are made with premium foams and high-end materials for engineered comfort and superior durability, proven by the brand’s generous 15-year warranty. All foams used are also CertiPUR-US® certified. This certification is awarded to products made with non-toxic materials, and is often expected by customers looking for a healthy sleep surface.
The mattress’s top cover is removable and machine washable for easy cleaning. With simple maintenance, you can clean your sleep surface as often as you need for a more refreshing sleep.
Nectar Premier stands 13" tall. The mattress that we received was made in Mexico, according to its law label. While Nectar states that this mattress comes with “5 layers of premium materials”, we don’t count the top and bottom covers as their own layer.
The mattress cover is made of polyester, nylon, and polyethylene. While the cover is removable and has an icon of a washing machine with the words “washable cover,” we don’t recommend removing it. That’s because Nectar’s warranty policy states that removing the mattress cover will void the warranty. It’s best to spot-clean the cover only.
Get the premium mattress with the cooling, machine-washable top cover.
Both Nectar and Octave ship by ground to most Canadian locations for free. Octave ships through FedEx, while Nectar uses a variety of couriers. You should receive your Octave in 3–10 business days, including dispatch and shipping time. Nectar arrives in 3–7 business days. For both brands, additional fees may apply for shipping to remote locations.
Following the bed-in-a-box model, both mattresses arrive packaged in a cardboard box and wrapped in layers of heavy-duty plastic. Be sure to keep the plastic wrap from either mattress you unbox so you don’t have to purchase a mattress bag in case of a return. Your Octave should expand in a few minutes, while Nectar states their mattress will take up to 72 hours to fully expand.
Your sleep trial will start the day you receive the mattress. Both Nectar and Octave offer an industry-leading 365-night sleep trial. If you want to return your mattress, Octave and Nectar will both arrange your return and pick up for free. Once the company has picked up the mattress, it will be either donated to a local charity or recycled, depending on what’s available in your area.
Octave is backed by a generous 15-year warranty, which is longer than the industry average. While Nectar offers a lifetime warranty, numerous customer complaints on Trustpilot noted issues with getting warranty claims honoured. The warranty only lasts for as long as you own the mattress.
Nectar is rated only “Average” on Trustpilot, with some customers sharing negative experiences with the brand. And while the company’s Better Business Bureau profile is rated “A+”, their customer review rating is just 3.21/5 stars. Many reviews mention issues with customer service, returns, and warranty claims.
On the other hand, Octave’s parent company is rated “Excellent” on Trustpilot and “A+” on BBB, with a customer review rating of 4.89/5 stars. The brand also has 5,200+ five-star reviews on its website to match.

Costco offers free shipping and “white-glove” delivery service, which includes mattress placement, setup, and removal of all packaging materials. Costco estimates that the mattress will arrive on your doorstep in 10-20 business days, including dispatch and delivery time. For an extra $75, they also provide their “haul away” service, where they will remove your old mattress for you.
While Kingsdown offers a 100-night sleep trial, Costco doesn’t. If you decide to return your Kingsdown mattress, Costco only provides a return pickup service for mattresses purchased online. Purchases made in person must be returned to a warehouse. Costco’s standard return policy applies, meaning your return has to be approved if you want your money back.
Kingsdown Passions Beckingham will come delivered to you fully expanded, wrapped in a layer of plastic. The mattress is covered by the manufacturer’s 10-year limited warranty. The warranty only covers normal wear and tear but not incidental damage, including while it’s being shipped to you. While returns are arranged with Costco, you will have to deal with Kingsdown to make a warranty claim.

The Brick charges varying rates to ship Serta iComfort Hybrid ProHD Vanguard 2.0 to you, based on the distance between your home and the specific store you’re ordering from. However, they don’t offer an estimated delivery time for mattress purchases.
The Brick’s team will deliver the mattress to a specific room in your house, but their services do not include mattress set-up. Serta iComfort Hybrid does not come compressed and rolled in a box. It’s delivered to you fully expanded and wrapped in a single sheet of plastic.
You’ll have a 90-night sleep trial to try Serta iComfort Hybrid. This is slightly shorter than what most mattress brands offer, giving you less time to adjust to your new bed. The Brick’s return policy is exchange-only, so you won’t get a refund, just store credit to buy a different mattress they carry. If you wish to return your mattress during this time, you’ll have to pay for return shipping.
The warranty for your Serta mattress will vary depending on the code listed on the law label. The warranty code on the mattress we received for this review was “W9,” indicating an industry-standard 10-year warranty. This warranty covers manufacturing defects only and not incidental damage to the mattress. This includes any damage incurred during shipping.
In comparison, Logan & Cove Frontier is shipped to your door rolled and compressed in a convenient box, and protected by two layers of heavy-duty plastic. It offers a longer 365-night sleep trial and 15-year warranty, as well as the option of free return pickup with a full refund.

Serta iComfort Hybrid ProHD Vanguard 2.0 stands 14" and has 6 interior layers. All foam used is CertiPUR-US® certified.
Serta iComfort Hybrid’s Cool Touch cover is made of polyester and polypropylene. Its top surface also has “cool polyamide,” which likely refers to phase-change material incorporated into the material for temperature balance. The cover contains silver to make it anti-microbial and help the mattress stay fresher for longer.

Founded in 1931, Serta is an American company based in Illinois. Serta's biggest licensee, the National Bedding Company, was acquired by two private equity firms in 2005. After the following restructuring, Serta International became a subsidiary of Serta Simmons Bedding, LLC. The company also acquired independent mattress brand Tuft & Needle in 2018. In early 2023, Serta filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and concluded financial restructuring later that year.
Serta sells through third-party retailers like Sleep Country Canada and The Brick, as well as individual suppliers and retailers. This means that you will be subject to the individual retailer's policies such as return policies.
It's also important to consider the company's reputation on consumer protection websites such as Trustpilot and the Better Business Bureau. On Trustpilot, the company is rated “Poor”, with a customer review score of 1.8/5 stars. Serta’s parent company, Serta Simmons Bedding, has a Better Business Bureau profile rated “F” (unaccredited) with a customer review rating of 1.75/5 stars.
