Meet DreamCloud.

The DreamCloud brand is owned by Resident Home LLC, an American company that owns other mattress brands like Nectar.

In 2022, Resident entered into an exclusive partnership with Leon’s to sell Dreamcloud (and Nectar) mattresses at Leon’s Furniture and The Brick retail outlets.

Deciding whether a DreamCloud mattress is the right fit for you? Our in-depth DreamCloud reviews will lay out the pros and cons, and help you come to an informed decision.

Pros Cons
  • 365-night sleep trial
  • Lifetime warranty
  • Available online and in-store through Leon's Furniture and The Brick outlets
  • Free shipping to major metro areas
  • Company has been charged with false advertising by the FTC
  • Numerous customer complaints about customer service, deliveries, and returns on BBB and Trustpilot
  • Different shipping times for available mattress models
  • Entry-level mattresses have limited features while being more expensive than average
  • No guarantee that a specific Leon’s or The Brick outlet will carry DreamCloud mattresses
  • Products aren't made in Canada

Popular DreamCloud Mattresses

DreamCloud offers a 365-night sleep trial and a lifetime manufacturer’s limited warranty for its mattresses, both of which sound appealing. However, DreamCloud mattresses purchased from Leon’s or The Brick are subject to their sleep trial and return policies. Leon’s only offers a 200-night sleep trial with the purchase of a mattress cover, while The Brick offers a 180-night sleep trial if you purchase a mattress with both a mattress protector and a foundation.

In 2018 and 2022, Resident Home was charged by the Federal Trade Commission with “making false, misleading, or unsupported advertising claims.” Many DreamCloud mattress reviews on third-party websites like Better Business Bureau and Trustpilot also mention issues with customer service, especially when it comes to deliveries and returns. We have experienced DreamCloud storing mattresses for up to a year before delivery, which can damage mattresses and reduce their lifespan.

We think you’ll have better luck with Canadian-owned mattress brand Logan & Cove instead. It offers luxury hybrid mattresses at a similar price point, with the same 365-night sleep trial and a 15-year warranty. The brand’s parent company is also rated “A+” on BBB and “Excellent” on Trustpilot, with 4,500+ five-star reviews from verified customers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is DreamCloud a good mattress?

DreamCloud mattresses perform well in third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us). That said, several customer reviews for DreamCloud on third-party websites like Better Business Bureau and Trustpilot indicate problems with customer service, delivery, and product returns.

We think you should take a look at competing company Logan & Cove instead. Logan & Cove has 4,500+ five-star reviews from satisfied customers. The company is also rated “A+” on BBB and “Excellent” on Trustpilot. Logan & Cove mattresses also come with advanced cooling features, pocketed coils for responsive support, and micro coil layers in upgraded models for added contouring. Mattresses are at a similar price point, with Logan & Cove Choice priced at just $999 for a queen size.

Who sells DreamCloud mattresses?

DreamCloud mattresses are available for purchase online from the company’s website. They are also available in-store at Leon’s Furniture and The Brick, as long as the specific location has DreamCloud mattresses in its inventory.

Where can I try a DreamCloud mattress?

DreamCloud mattresses are available to try in-person at The Brick and Leon’s Furniture stores, if a specific location has DreamCloud mattresses in stock. DreamCloud mattresses purchased from either Leon’s or the Brick are subject to their sleep trial and return policies instead of DreamCloud’s policies.

Leon's and its subsidiary, the Brick, have also faced investigations over potentially deceptive marketing practices. The Canadian Competition Bureau initially investigated the company in 2013, with a final agreement resulting in the companies each donating $750,000 worth of home furnishings to approved charities. New investigations in November of 2024 surrounding separate, but similar, concerns are ongoing.

Where do you buy a DreamCloud mattress?

You can order a DreamCloud mattress online from the DreamCloud website, or in-person at Leon’s Furniture or The Brick locations that have DreamCloud mattresses in stock. However, a specific outlet may not have Dreamcloud mattresses in stock.

Where are DreamCloud mattresses made?

DreamCloud mattresses are manufactured in several different locations, including the USA, Mexico, and China.

Resident Home LLC, DreamCloud’s parent company, used to claim that all its mattresses were made in the USA. However, the USA’s Federal Trade Commission ruled that Resident Home’s “Made in USA” claim was false advertising, and fined the company $753,000 in late 2022.

Do DreamCloud mattresses have fiberglass?

DreamCloud mattresses sold in Canada do not contain fiberglass. Fiberglass is a common fire safety feature in mattresses sold outside of Canada, especially less expensive ones. It can be a significant health hazard if the mattress cover is breached and fiberglass particles get outside of the mattress.

READ MORE: Is fiberglass in a mattress dangerous?

Do DreamCloud mattresses come in a box?

Yes, DreamCloud mattresses arrive in a cardboard box. Mattresses are wrapped in plastic, rolled up, and placed inside a box for shipping, which is consistent with the bed-in-a-box business model.

How do you return a DreamCloud mattress?

If you purchased your DreamCloud mattress online, you can return it after the first 30 nights of the company’s 365-night sleep trial. Returns may be initiated on the company’s website, and include return pickup service. You can choose to receive a full refund, or to exchange your mattress for a different one. You must unbox your mattress within 90 days of delivery to make a valid return claim.

DreamCloud mattresses purchased in-person through The Brick or Leon’s Furniture are subject to their sleep trial and return policies instead of DreamCloud’s policies. Leon’s offers a 200-night sleep trial with the purchase of a mattress cover, while The Brick offers a 180-night sleep trial with the purchase of both a mattress protector and a foundation.

What DreamCloud mattress alternatives should I consider?

We think you should check out hybrid mattress brand Logan & Cove. Its entry-level offering, Logan & Cove Choice, is available at just $999 for a queen size. It features a cooling nanofibre cover, ecoLuxe® cooling gel foam, sturdy edge support foam, and a three-zone coil support system.

You can also upgrade to Logan & Cove Frontier or Logan & Cove Pinnacle for even more luxurious sleep, including a Euro-top design, added cooling features, and added layers of body-contouring micro coils. Logan & Cove mattresses start at just $799 and come with a 365-night sleep trial, a 15-year warranty, and a free bedding bundle with your purchase.

GhostBed vs Casper vs Douglas Comparison (2025)

Sam Kulathilaka

Sleep Content Specialist

Which Is Better: Casper, GhostBed, or Douglas?

Douglas, Casper, and GhostBed are all foam mattresses. But Douglas outscored its competitors thanks to its excellent motion isolation, multiple advanced cooling features, a 365-night sleep trial, and a 20-year warranty. Best of all, Douglas has the lowest price tag of just $799 for a queen size.

In comparison, Casper and GhostBed provide fewer features at a much higher cost. The Casper and GhostBed Classic have limited or no advanced cooling features and were outperformed by Douglas in critical areas like motion isolation. Both brands offer much shorter sleep trials: Casper with the industry-standard 100 nights, and GhostBed with 101.

Casper and GhostBed also don’t have high third-party review site ratings. Casper’s combined Trustpilot page is rated “Poor”. On Better Business Bureau, the company’s American profile is rated “A+” (unaccredited) but has a customer review rating of just 1.17/5 stars. Casper also doesn’t have a BBB page dedicated to its Canadian operations, which Sleep Country owns. Sleep Country has a customer review score of just 1.28/5 stars on BBB and is rated “Poor” on Trustpilot. GhostBed is rated “Bad” on Trustpilot and has a customer review rating of 1.13/5 stars on BBB.

Overall, Douglas offers the most features at the lowest price point with a risk-free sleep trial, a lengthy warranty, and a machine-washable cover. Douglas’s parent company, GoodMorning.com, also has an outstanding online reputation with its “A+” rating on the Better Business Bureau with a customer review rating of 4.89/5 stars. Douglas and GoodMorning.com are both rated “Excellent” on Trustpilot.

Mattress Breakdown

When comparing Douglas vs Casper vs GhostBed, Douglas Original outperforms both The Casper and GhostBed Classic in several important areas. With a better cooling features score and outstanding motion isolation, Douglas offers comfort and support for every sleeper. Douglas also has the lowest price tag of the three mattresses and comes with a free sheet set, pillow(s), mattress protector, and pillow protector(s) with your purchase. GhostBed and Casper only offer rotating deals that sometimes mean a free accessory with your purchase.

Although GhostBed is an American company, certain models are manufactured in Canada when ordered from ghostbed.ca. All models ordered from GhostBed’s American website will be made in the USA. Casper was founded in the United States but had its Canadian operations acquired by Sleep Country Canada in 2023. As a result, many of their mattresses, like The Casper mattress we purchased for review, used to be manufactured in the US but are now made in Canada. Douglas, on the other hand, is a Canadian-founded company that designs and handmakes all of their mattresses domestically.

We’ve gathered all the information you need to compare Douglas, Casper, and GhostBed mattresses accurately. Keep reading to get the full breakdown of these three popular mattresses.

Note: This page reviews a previous version of The Casper mattress. Newer models may vary in construction and performance.

Firmness

When comparing Casper vs. GhostBed vs. Douglas, according to third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), both Douglas and Casper fall within the medium-firm category for firmness. This is an ideal firmness level whether you sleep on your side, stomach, or back. The Casper has a firmness score of 6.3/10. Douglas, on the other hand, has a slightly firmer score of 6.7/10

Ghostbed Classic, however, despite being advertised as medium-firm, scored 7.7/10 for firmness in testing. This places GhostBed Classic in the firm category. This level of firmness is well-suited for back sleepers and stomach sleepers. If you’re a side sleeper, you could find this mattress puts too much pressure on your shoulder and hip.

READ MORE: Which firmness level is right for you?

Edge Support

Foam mattresses aren’t generally known for having good edge support. However, all three of these mattresses performed well, with above-average scores for edge support. With its edge support score of 7.8/10 and all-around sidewalls, Douglas lets you comfortably sit or lie on the bed’s edge.

Casper didn’t score quite as well as Douglas, but also received a good score for edge support at 7.5/10. GhostBed received the highest edge support score of the three mattresses at 9.0/10, an outstanding score that likely corresponds with its firm feel. With scores this high, you’ll be able to sit comfortably on the edge of any of these mattresses, and you should have no difficulty getting up in the morning.

Motion Isolation

When comparing GhostBed vs Casper vs Douglas for motion isolation, Douglas stood out among the 3 brands. With an excellent motion isolation score of 8.3/10, Douglas performed the highest when it came to stopping motion transfer across the mattress.

In comparison, Casper earned a lower score of 6.6/10, while GhostBed scored the lowest with a just-average 5.2/10. This is likely a result of its firm feel and latex layer. If your sleep is regularly disturbed by your partner, kids, or pets, you may prioritize getting a mattress with excellent motion isolation.

Bounce

Low bounce is important if you’re a light sleeper who’s easily woken, while higher bounce can make it easier to switch sleeping positions. Comparing GhostBed vs Casper, Casper scored a 4.7/10 for bounce, which is average for a foam mattress. The GhostBed mattress had a similar bounce score of 4.6/10. However, Douglas has the lowest bounce score of all three mattresses at 3.1/10—a nice side benefit of its excellent motion isolation. Douglas incorporates a layer of imitation latex to help provide more responsiveness.

Cooling Features

Foam mattresses can be known to trap heat, so most modern foam mattresses incorporate cooling features to help ensure breathability and airflow for comfortable sleep. Douglas, Casper, and GhostBed all feature some cooling elements in their foam layers.

GhostBed Classic earned a cooling features score of 3.7/10 because of its perforated latex foam and gel-infused foam layers that promote cooling and breathability. The Casper has fewer cooling features, with its open-cell foam and perforated foam layer earning it a score of 2.5/10.

Douglas Original performed the best, with the highest cooling features score of 4.2/10. Its cooling features include a moisture-wicking CoolSense® cover, a layer of ecoLight® cooling gel foam, and a layer of breathable Elastex® foam. If you’re looking for a refreshing mattress to keep temperatures balanced as you sleep, Douglas is a reliable choice.

Mattress Construction

Douglas Original, The Casper, and GhostBed Classic are all combination foam mattresses with 3 layers each. While they have similar heights, their inner materials are very different, and they provide varying levels of comfort and support.

Douglas Original Mattress Layers

  • Layer 1: The 2” top layer of the Douglas mattress is made of ecoLight® cooling gel foam. It’s just as durable, comfortable, and body-contouring as memory foam. This layer also has open-cell construction for extra breathability.
  • Layer 2: The 2” middle layer is made of Elastex® foam for extra spring and support. This is a latex-free foam with a similar level of responsiveness and support.
  • Layer 3: The 6” bottom layer is made of motion isolation support foam. This means you’ll hardly feel a thing from the other side of the bed, even if your partner is tossing and turning all night long.

Douglas Original’s top cover is removable and machine washable for easy care. (In comparison, neither The Casper nor GhostBed Original comes with a machine washable cover.) It’s also made using plant-based Infinitex™ fibres that wick moisture and help keep you cool and comfortable throughout the night.

The Casper Mattress Layers

  • Layer 1: The top (comfort) layer includes 1” of polyurethane foam, which uses open-cell perforations to enhance airflow. Casper says this feature promotes comfort and regulates body temperature during sleep.
  • Layer 2: The middle (transition) layer is 2” of body-contouring memory foam. This supports your body and prevents long-term sagging in the middle of the mattress. Memory foam can be known to trap heat without added cooling features to increase airflow.
  • Layer 3: The bottom (support) layer is 7” of dense polyurethane support foam. This foundational component maintains the mattress's structure and support, ensuring that you won’t sink too far into the upper layers.

Despite having a zipper, the mattress top cover on The Casper isn’t machine-washable. The company mentions you shouldn’t remove it for any reason. You’ll need to spot-clean the mattress in case of any spills or stains.

GhostBed Classic Mattress Layers

  • Layer 1: GhostBed Classic has a 1.5” layer of aerated latex. The aeration allows airflow, which can help cool the surface. However, while latex offers natural breathability and bounce, some sleepers may find it doesn’t deliver the same deep contouring as memory foam (especially when used in the comfort layer), and particularly for side sleepers who need significant pressure relief.
  • Layer 2: The mattress’s second comfort layer is 2” of gel memory foam. This layer is designed to offer a mixture of cooling and contouring. The gel is intended to help with heat dissipation, though gel-infused foam alone may not provide long-lasting cooling for those who sleep especially hot. This layer does offer good pressure-point relief, though, particularly for the shoulders and hips.
  • Layer 3: GhostBed Classic’s support layer is 7.5” of high-density foam, which serves as the mattress’s main support structure and adds durability.

GhostBed Classic’s top cover is made of a viscose-and-polyester blend. It isn’t removable or machine washable, so you’ll need to spot-clean the mattress in case of any spills or stains.

Delivery, Sleep Trial & Returns

Douglas and GhostBed both ship their mattresses for free to most locations in Canada using FedEx. Casper Canada delivers its mattresses through UPS unless you buy your mattress from a Sleep Country store or website, in which case Sleep Country’s delivery fleet will deliver your mattress. Each company may charge additional fees for some remote locations, and delivery times may be longer as well.

While Casper mattresses take 5–15 business days to arrive, Douglas mattresses will arrive at your door in 2–10 business days, and GhostBed mattresses will be delivered in 3–5 business days. All three mattresses are rolled in heavy-duty plastic and packaged in cardboard boxes for convenient shipping. Once unrolled, the mattresses fully expand within minutes.

READ MORE: How to unbox a mattress

Douglas offers a generous return policy along with their 365-night sleep trial and 20-year warranty. If you decide to return your mattress during the trial period, you’ll get free return pickup with a full refund. Casper offers a 100-night sleep trial, a 10-year warranty, and free pickups and returns for mattresses ordered through their website. However, mattresses purchased through Casper’s parent company, Sleep Country, or other third-party retailers, are subject to the retailer’s terms and conditions. For example, Sleep Country only allows exchanges—no refunds.

GhostBed offers a 101-night sleep trial, a 20-year warranty, and a pickup service for returns where “restocking fees” may apply. Some customers have been required to pay back discounts they received when purchasing their mattresses. A CBC article even reported on a GhostBed customer who described his return experience with GhostBed as being “extremely frustrating.”

In addition to customer return experiences, GhostBed is rated “Bad” on Trustpilot, and has only a 1.13/5 star customer rating with the Better Business Bureau. Although Casper Canada doesn’t have a BBB page, Casper’s parent company, Sleep Country, is rated “A+” (unaccredited) on BBB but has a 1.28/5 star rating. Casper as a whole is rated “Poor” on Trustpilot, and Sleep Country is rated “Poor”. In comparison, Douglas maintains a rating of “Excellent” on Trustpilot and its parent company, GoodMorning.com, is rated “A+” on the BBB with 4.89/5 stars.

Mattress Breakdown

When comparing Logan & Cove vs Sealy vs Serta, Logan & Cove Choice stands out in many categories.

Logan & Cove offers a generous 365-night sleep trial and a 15-year warranty. It comes with luxury details not often found outside of a mattress showroom, with advanced cooling features to keep you comfortable while you sleep. For added value, Logan & Cove mattresses also come with a free bedding bundle that includes a mattress protector, pillow(s), sheets, and pillow protector(s).

In comparison, mattresses that are sold at Sleep Country—like Sealy and Serta—don’t come with a true sleep trial. You can try a Sealy or Serta mattress at home for 100 nights, but if it doesn’t work for you, you can only exchange it for a different mattress. Sleep Country doesn’t give refunds.

Serta and Sealy come with only an industry-standard 10-year warranty, and you won’t receive a free bedding bundle with your purchase. It’s also worth noting that Sleep Country mattresses are regularly discontinued, making it harder to find a mattress that’s right for you.

To help you choose between Logan & Cove, Sealy, and Serta, we’ve gathered all the information you need to accurately compare these mattresses.

Mattress Performance Results

Firmness

According to third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), Logan & Cove Choice has a firmness score of 6.9/10, placing it on the firmer side of the medium-firm category. Sealy Posturepedic Optimum Chill Trio Dione scored 6.2/10, which also falls into the medium-firm category.

Medium-firm mattresses are ideal for all sleep styles because they provide a good balance of comfort and support. You should find either mattress provides a comfortable level of firmness, whether you sleep on your side, back, or stomach.

Serta Perfect Sleeper Elite Percevall, on the other hand, scored 7.6/10 for firmness. This places the mattress in the firm category. While back and stomach sleepers might find Percevall offers good support, it’s not ideal for side sleepers. You might notice added pressure on your shoulder and hip.

Edge Support

Hybrid mattresses generally have better edge support than foam mattresses, thanks to their metal inner coils. Logan & Cove Choice has very good edge support, with a score of 7.5/10. Sealy Posturepedic Optimum Chill Trio Dione also received an above-average score for edge support at 8.5/10, while Serta Perfect Sleeper Elite Percevall scored 9.5/10.

All three of these mattresses will let you comfortably sit or lie on the bed’s edge without any fear of slipping off. You should also be able to get out of bed without any trouble.

Motion Isolation

Good motion isolation lets you sleep on a mattress peacefully without being disturbed by your partner, kids, or pets. Movements on one side of the bed are barely noticeable on the other, ensuring uninterrupted rest for everyone.

If you’re searching for a mattress with excellent motion isolation, Logan & Cove Choice outperforms the rest with a score of 7.5/10 in third-party engineer testing.

Sealy scored 7.1/10, while Serta scored 6.3/10. Both mattresses offer good motion isolation. You should be able to sleep interruption-free on all three mattresses. However, if you are a light sleeper—or if you share your bed with others—you may notice the most restful sleep with Logan & Cove Choice.

Bounce

Innerspring and hybrid mattresses tend to be bouncier and “springier” than all-foam ones. While bounce is more of a preference, it can indicate how easily you can change sleep positions and whether you might feel “stuck” in the mattress. A higher bounce score can make it easier to get out of bed and change positions.

Comparing Serta vs Sealy, Sealy Posturepedic Optimum Chill Trio Dione scored 2.9/10 for bounce. This is quite low, even for a foam mattress. In comparison, Serta Perfect Sleeper Elite Percevall earned a bounce score of 7.8/10, which is very high, even for a hybrid mattress.

Logan & Cove Choice has a slightly above-average score of 5.8/10—a good mid-point in comparison to the other two mattresses. Coupled with this mattress’s excellent motion isolation, you will be able to experience undisturbed sleep, while also being able to easily get out of bed.

Cooling Features

Serta Perfect Sleeper Elite Percevall earned a cooling features score of 1.8/10. While the mattress is advertised as having cooling properties, there’s limited information available about the exact materials used. Percevall earned points for its cooling mattress cover, layers of temperature-regulating cooling gel foam, individually wrapped coils that allow for air circulation, and support foam with undisclosed cooling technology.

Sealy Posturepedic Optimum Chill Trio Dione performed slightly better with a score of 2.4/10, despite having fewer cooling features. This is because the brand provides a little more information about the mattress cover, which is made with cooling yarn for a cool-to-the-touch sensation when you first lie down. The mattress also comes with a layer of gel-infused memory foam that absorbs and redistributes body heat.

For cooling features, Logan & Cove Choice was the top performer with a score of 4.4/10. Choice has a cooling top cover with gel-infused foam and cooling nanofibres, as well as an additional layer of gel foam to dissipate heat, pocket coils that promote airflow, and a layer of breathable Elastex® foam. If you want a refreshing mattress to keep temperatures balanced as you sleep, Logan & Cove Choice is the best option of the three.

Get superior cooling and motion isolation with Logan & Cove.

Mattress Construction

Logan & Cove Choice and Serta Perfect Sleeper Elite Percevall are both hybrid mattresses, while Sealy Posturepedic Optimum Chill Trio Dione is a foam mattress. All three mattresses are CertiPUR-US® certified, but they have varying layers and construction to provide different benefits.

Logan & Cove Choice Mattress Layers

  • Layer 1: The first layer is 1" of breathable hollow fibre fill and cooling gel-infused foam. It's quilted directly under the tight-top cover, providing a degree of plushness and directly dissipating your body heat when you're lying down.
  • Layer 2: The second layer is 1″ of ecoLuxe® cooling gel foam. This foam layer provides excellent comfort and pressure-point relief, conforming to your body’s shape while also wicking away heat and moisture.
  • Layer 3: The third layer is 1″ of Elastex® foam. This layer contours around your body, providing latex-like responsiveness and pressure relief, but without any of the allergy-causing chemicals in many natural latex mattresses.
  • Layer 4: The support layer is 9″ of individually pocketed coils. Made of double-tempered steel, these coils are divided into 3 body-supporting zones to give contouring support for your back and hips. This layer is also encased with 4″-thick edge support foam along the sidewalls to give you more support when sitting on your bed, or lying farther away from the middle.

Logan & Cove Choice stands 12" tall and contains 4 layers. The cover is made of polyester, high-density polyethylene (HDPE), and spandex. Choice offers a level of plushness and luxury detailing not often seen in the bed-in-a-box industry. The quilted tight-top, which is integrated directly into the mattress, is woven with cooling nanofibres, a breathable hollow fill, and gel-infused foam. It’s not removable or machine washable.

Sealy Posturepedic Optimum Chill Trio Dione Mattress Layers

  • Layer 1: The top (comfort) layer is 3” of cooling gel memory foam. This layer shapes itself around your body as you lie down.
  • Layer 2: The bottom (support) layer is 8” of higher-density foam. In addition to acting as the mattress's foundation, the rigidity of this layer prevents you from sinking too far into the mattress.

Sealy Posturepedic Optimum Chill Trio Dione stands 11" tall (not 10″ as stated on the Sleep Country website). Unlike other memory foam mattresses at this price point, Chill Trio Dione only has 2 interior foam layers.

At the time we tested this mattress, Sleep Country stated that Chill Trio Dione contains “generous layers of quick response OptiSense™ Liquid Gel Memory Foam.” However, according to the infographic we received from their customer service team, only the top layer uses this foam.

The Ultra-Stretch Chill-Trio™ Cover contains cooling yarn that’s meant to absorb and dissipate heat. This cover isn’t machine washable, even though it has a zipper, so you’ll need to carefully spot-clean any spills or stains.

Serta Perfect Sleeper Elite Percevall Mattress Layers

  • Layer 1: The top (comfort) layer is 1” foam that’s been quilted into pockets. Technically, this layer is actually two separate sheets of 0.5” foam. We consider this one layer because the foam sheets are physically attached and combined to form the top layer.
  • Layer 2: This layer is 2” of relatively dense foam, preventing you from feeling the coils as they adjust to your body's movements.
  • Layer 3: 8” individually pocketed coils provide full-body support. These coils aren’t used along Percevall's sidewalls. The sidewalls are instead supported using 3” support foam, which contributes to the mattress's excellent edge support score.
  • Layer 4: At the bottom of the mattress, 0.5" of foam provides a little extra support below the pocketed coils.

Serta Perfect Sleeper Elite Percevall is a hybrid mattress with 4 distinct layers, and it stands 11.5" high. Serta indicates that the Perfect Sleeper Elite Percevall uses Serta® Support Gel Foam. It’s not clear whether this foam is used in the first or second layer.

The mattress cover uses antimicrobial fabric woven with silver fibres to help keep the mattress cool and fresh. However, Percevall’s mattress cover is not removable or machine washable.

Delivery, Sleep Trial & Returns

When you’re comparing delivery, sleep trial, delivery, and warranty for Logan & Cove vs Sealy vs Serta, there’s a clear winner. Logan & Cove has the longest sleep trial and warranty of all three mattresses—and only Logan & Cove provides a full refund during the sleep trial period.

Logan & Cove

Logan & Cove ships mattresses to most of Canada via FedEx, with free shipping for most customers nationwide. Additional fees may apply for some remote locations. Your order ships by ground from Alberta or Ontario. It’ll be on your doorstep within 2–11 business days, including dispatch and delivery time.

The mattress is delivered to your doorstep in a cardboard box and is protected by two layers of heavy-duty plastic. Once unrolled, Logan & Cove Choice expands to its full size within minutes of unpacking.

Logan & Cove’s generous 365-night sleep trial is one of Canada’s longest. If you decide to return your mattress within the trial period, the company offers free return pickup with a full refund. Returned mattresses are either donated or recycled, depending on regulations and availability in your area.

Logan & Cove also stands behind their products with a 15-year warranty, which is much longer than both Sealy and Serta’s warranty policies.

Sealy & Serta

Note: Both Serta Sleeper Elite Percevall and Sealy Posturepedic Chill Trio Dione have been discontinued and are no longer available for purchase through Sleep Country. You may still be able to find them through some mattress resellers. We purchased both of these mattresses from Sleep Country, so the information in this section is specific to Sleep Country’s delivery, sleep trial, and return practices.

Sealy has discontinued Posturepedic Optimum Chill Trio Dione, and Serta has discontinued Perfect Sleeper Elite Percevall. In our experience, it’s common for brands like Sealy and Serta to discontinue models after less than a year. This can be frustrating for customers who have planned in advance to purchase a particular mattress, only to find that it’s been discontinued when they’re ready to buy it.

Sleep Country Canada offers free shipping for online orders over $75. Mattresses typically ship from Sleep Country within 3–10 business days (including dispatch and delivery time), depending on the company’s inventory and delivery schedule. With mattresses purchased through Sleep Country, you can choose between standard delivery service (free) or an upgrade to Green Glove Delivery ($59). This includes delivery to a specific room in your home, setup and assembly, and removal of your old mattress and any packaging.

You’ll have the opportunity to test a Sealy or Serta mattress at home during Sleep Country’s 100-night sleep trial. If you decide to return your mattress, you’ll have to bring it back to the store yourself. Sleep Country doesn’t provide pickup service for returned mattresses.

You also won’t receive a full refund for your purchase. Sleep Country only offers in-store credit for returns, and you’ll need to pay a $65 exchange fee. This means you’ll either select a less expensive mattress and have to buy other items to spend your store credit, or spend even more money to upgrade to a better mattress. There’s also no guarantee that the replacement mattress will work for your needs.

Sleep Country Canada offers a 10-year warranty on their mattresses. However, the company has received a number of customer complaints on Better Business Bureau and Trustpilot about getting warranty claims honoured.

Choose the company with the 365-night sleep trial and 15-year warranty.

Founded in New York City, Casper first emerged in 2014 as an early North American bed-in-a-box brand. The company expanded its product lineup over the years with substantial funding from organizations like the Target Corporation and celebrities such as Ashton Kutcher.

Casper went public in 2020 but was taken private again in 2022 after a stock collapse. Also in 2022, Casper shut down its European operations, focusing exclusively on the North American market. In 2023, Casper sold its Canadian operations to Sleep Country Canada, and in 2024, after attempts to stop losing money, its US operations were acquired by one of its suppliers, Carpenter Corporation.

Today, the company offers mattresses, bedding accessories, and home decor. Products are sold online, through branded retail stores, and through Sleep Country locations in Canada. Their mattresses are sometimes accompanied by rotating sales or deals that may include free sleep accessories.

Although Casper has separate American and Canadian operations, the brand has one combined Trustpilot page, which rates it as “Poor” (based on over 6,000 customer reviews). On the Better Business Bureau, Casper’s American profile is rated “A+” (unaccredited), but has a customer review rating of just 1.17 out of 5 stars. Casper does not have a Canadian BBB profile, but its parent company Sleep Country Canada has a customer review score of just 1.28/5 on BBB, and is rated “Poor” on Trustpilot.

Where Casper makes its mattresses depends on whether you buy in Canada or the USA. Casper Canada makes most of its mattresses in Canada, with select models manufactured in the US. We have received Casper mattresses made in Canada, the United States and Mexico. The label of each mattress has information about where it was manufactured.

How to Put On a Duvet Cover By Yourself (2025)

Sam Kulathilaka

Sleep Content Specialist

Duvet covers are used to protect duvet inserts and come in a wide variety of colours and materials. But getting a duvet cover on can be difficult and frustrating.

If you’ve ever struggled with how to put on a duvet cover, you’re not alone. This article will outline two simple methods you can use to get your duvet cover on quickly and easily.

Editor’s Note: Start with a clean duvet cover, a duvet insert, and a flat surface like your bed.

Method 1: Sushi Roll Method

  1. Turn your duvet cover inside out and lay it flat on your working surface. Ensure the opening is at the foot of the bed.
  2. Lay your duvet insert on top of the duvet cover. Ensure the insert is flat, and smooth out both the cover and insert.
  3. Tie or snap the corners and side ties of your duvet insert to the cover. This will help keep the cover and insert together while you roll.
  4. Start to roll the duvet insert and duvet cover together like a sushi roll, starting from the head of your bed and working towards the foot. Try to keep the cover and insert in line with one another while you roll.
  5. Once you have a complete roll, invert the duvet cover over the edges of the roll. Pull the opening of the duvet cover over each end of the roll.
  6. You should now be able to zip or button the opening of your duvet cover up, with the rest of the roll inside.
  7. Unroll your duvet in the opposite direction you initially rolled it. As you unroll, the duvet cover should be over the insert.
  8. Shake or adjust your duvet as needed to fix any bumps inside the cover.

Method 2: Traditional Method

  1. Lay your duvet insert flat on your bed or working surface.
  2. Turn your duvet cover inside out and lay it on top of the duvet insert.
  3. Fasten only the top corners of the duvet insert and cover to one another. (If you fasten the bottoms or the sides, you won’t be able to invert the cover.)
  4. Reach into the opening of your duvet cover to the top of the duvet and grab the top corners through the cover.
  5. Grabbing the corners tightly, pull them up over your head to invert the duvet cover.
  6. Continue shaking the duvet so the cover falls over the rest of the insert.
  7. Lay your duvet flat on your surface, pull the bottom corners into the duvet cover, and make any other adjustments as needed.
  8. Zip or button up your duvet.

Why should you use a duvet cover?

Duvet covers are meant to protect your duvet insert, and keep them fresher and cleaner for longer. Your duvet cover protects your insert from spills, stains, and oil and dirt buildup from your skin. If you use a duvet cover, you won’t need to wash your duvet insert as often. (This is good news since inserts are bulky and hard to clean.)

Using a duvet cover is also a quick and easy way to switch up the look and feel of your room without an expensive renovation. Just swap out the cover, and your room looks completely different.

How often should you wash your duvet cover?

You should wash your duvet cover once a month if you’re also sleeping with a top sheet. If you sleep without a top sheet, wash your duvet cover as often as you wash your sheets—ideally once a week.

Although your duvet cover protects your insert from dirt and grime, it’s a good idea to wash it every once in a while, too. We recommend washing your duvet insert every 3–6 months.

Varying bedding should be treated differently depending on its material and thread count. Wash your duvet cover and insert according to the instructions on the law label to ensure you don’t damage them in the washer or dryer.

What is the best mattress for scoliosis in Canada?

Logan & Cove Frontier is our top pick for the best mattress for scoliosis in Canada. Logan & Cove earned this title thanks to its balanced medium-firm feel, zoned support, good responsiveness, and body-contouring layers of foam, pocket coils, and micro coils. This mattress provides excellent value with its 365-night sleep trial, 15-year warranty, and free bedding bundle with purchase, all for just $1,299 for a queen size.

Scoliosis is a condition where the spine has a sideways curvature, often leading to discomfort in the back and difficulty sleeping. While a mattress won’t cure scoliosis, choosing the right bed can help support better spinal alignment and relieve pressure in key areas, making it easier to get a good night’s rest.

Look for a mattress with a medium-firm to firm feel, proper edge support, and good responsiveness (bounce). A mattress that promotes pressure-point relief and has zoned support would also help someone with scoliosis sleep more comfortably.

At MattressReviews.ca, we’ve objectively ranked the best mattress for scoliosis in Canada by reviewing factors that matter to you, like price, firmness, edge support, sleep trial length, warranty, and more.

Original Hamuq Hybrid is a medium-firm hybrid mattress made in Canada. It combines double-tempered steel coils with hypoallergenic materials and a plush Euro-top. Original Hamuq Hybrid is available online from Hamuq’s website at $999 for a queen size.

This mattress has good edge support, excellent motion isolation, and zoned support. However, Hamuq only offers a 120-night sleep trial—not much time to decide whether you want to keep the mattress. Hamuq also has a "Great" rating on Trustpilot, no Better Business Bureau profile, and few verified customer reviews on third-party review platforms.

In comparison, competing hybrid mattress Logan & Cove Choice has advanced cooling features like CryoFusion™ cooling nanofibres, as well as a longer 365-night sleep trial. Logan & Cove is also rated “Excellent” on Trustpilot and “A+” on BBB.

Emma Hybrid Comfort is a hybrid mattress with open-cell foam for cooling, zoned support for pressure-point relief, and a machine-washable cover. All-Foam Canadian Mattress

The Endy is an all-foam mattress made by the bed-in-a-box mattress brand Endy, a subsidiary of Sleep Country Canada. Endy is a Canadian brand founded in Toronto in 2015. It has continued to manufacture its mattresses domestically since its 2018 acquisition by Sleep Country.

The Endy is available in 3 firmness options: the original medium-firm model, a firm model, and a plush model that’s available for an extra $200. The medium-firm model we purchased for this review is $895 for a queen size.

The Endy features cooling gel foam and a machine-washable cover. It comes with an industry-average 100-night sleep trial and a 10-year warranty by default, although this can be extended to 15 years if you register as an Endy VIP.

In comparison, Canadian competitor Douglas offers a similar construction and comfort level, more cooling features, a free bedding bundle with your purchase, and a much longer 365-night sleep trial and 20-year warranty, all for a lower price of $799 for a queen size.

Hybrid Mattress With Limited Features

Casper Atlas is a medium-firm hybrid mattress sold by Casper Canada, a company owned by Sleep Country Canada. It features 4 layers of foam and coils.

At $1,199 for a queen size, Casper Atlas is more expensive than similar hybrid mattresses like Logan & Cove Choice—especially when you consider Atlas's limited features. The mattress provides limited cooling, its sleep trial is only an industry-average 100 nights, and the warranty is just 10 years.

While it's described as a “value” model on the Casper website, Atlas doesn't come with offerings that are standard in other more affordably priced options.

Expensive, Hard-to-Get Innerspring Mattress

Saatva Classic is an innerspring mattress that comes in multiple firmness options. This mattress features two coil layers and excellent edge support. However, it has limited features and lacks the cooling we would expect to see in a mattress that costs $3,000 for a queen size.

This mattress can only be purchased directly from Saatva, which no longer ships to Canada. Saatva offers a 365-night sleep trial and a lifetime warranty, but it’s unclear whether Saatva will honour these policies for Canadians. Overall, Saatva’s high price tag, lack of extra features, and limited availability make it hard to recommend this mattress.

We recommend competing mattress Logan & Cove Choice instead. Available at just $999 for a queen size, Logan & Cove Choice is a hybrid mattress that offers luxury quality, three-zoned support for extra reinforcement under your back and hips, and advanced cooling features such as CryoFusion™ cooling nanofibres—for just a third of Saatva Classic’s price.

Note: For the purposes of this review, we purchased a mattress directly from Saatva and had it shipped internationally. This model is not available for sale in Canada.

Higher-Priced American Hybrid Mattress

Nolah Evolution 15 is a hybrid mattress available in three firmness levels: Plush, Luxury Firm, and Firm. Manufactured by 3Z Brands, the Evolution hybrid is available in Canada through Wayfair and Bed Bath & Beyond. It comes with zoned support and several cooling features, and it's advertised as being designed for side sleepers.

We purchased the Firm model for this review. However, according to third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), the mattress falls into the medium-firm category. While the mattress has good edge support, it tested only average for motion isolation, so you may notice your partner's nighttime movements.

When you buy Nolah through Wayfair, you’ll get a lifetime warranty and a 100-night sleep trial. But at $3,739 for a queen size, we would expect a longer sleep trial and more advanced features. In comparison, competitor Logan & Cove Frontier offers a 365-night sleep trial, free shipping and returns, and a free bedding bundle with your purchase—all for just $1,299 for a queen size.

Budget Mattress With Few Features and Short Warranty

Polysleep Sierra is an all-foam mattress available from Polysleep, a bed-in-a-box company. It has good edge support and motion isolation, as well as a layer of proprietary anti-microbial foam, which is designed to keep the mattress fresher for longer.

Available at $690 for a queen size, Polysleep Sierra is the entry-level model in Polysleep's mattress lineup. Despite its affordability, it lacks many features we would expect to see at that price for a foam mattress. The mattress has almost no cooling technologies, its 100-night sleep trial is only standard for the industry, and its 5-year warranty is much shorter than its competitors.

Competing affordable foam mattresses like Juno offer more for less. At a lower price of $499 for a queen size, Juno has a layer of cooling gel foam and an optional Cool+ cover upgrade. It also comes with a free bedding bundle, a 120-night sleep trial, and a 15-year warranty.

Which Is Better: Endy, Polysleep, or Douglas?

Douglas, Endy, and Polysleep are all well-established Canadian brands that offer foam mattresses. All three brands feature convenient bed-in-a-box delivery; however, that’s where the similarities end.

Endy offers limited cooling features, which consist of gel-infused open-cell foam and a breathable mattress cover. The Endy only comes with an industry-standard 100-night sleep trial and 10-year warranty, and it’s priced at $895 for a queen size.

The Polysleep is even more expensive and offers similar cooling features to The Endy. The Polysleep also comes with a 100-night sleep trial and 10-year warranty, but at a higher price of $1,299 for a queen size. The mattress also has a more costly return policy, with an administrative fee of $89.95 plus tax.

Douglas Original is the most affordably priced at just $799 for a queen size. Douglas comes with multiple advanced cooling features, a generous 365-night sleep trial, a lengthy 20-year warranty, and a free bedding bundle with purchase.

Note: The Polysleep mattress we reviewed and tested is no longer available for purchase through the company’s website. It may be available for purchase through independent retailers, for which the retailer’s specific policies will apply. The policies outlined in this comparison reflect our purchasing experience at the time of review.

Douglas offers the best price of these mattresses, along with multiple advanced cooling technologies, free returns during its 365-night sleep trial, and a 20-year warranty.

Mattress Performance Results

Firmness

The Endy, The Polysleep, and Douglas Original all fall into the medium-firm category, according to third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us). The Endy and The Polysleep both scored 6.4/10 for firmness. Douglas Original, on the other hand, scored 6.7/10, placing it on a slightly higher end of medium-firm. A medium-firm feel is ideal for all sleep positions and for partners who have different firmness needs.

READ MORE: What firmness level is right for you?

Edge Support

Good edge support is important if you like sitting up or lounging on the side of your bed, tend to sleep closer to the edge or need extra stability for getting in and out of bed, especially if you or your partner has mobility challenges.

Foam mattresses often don’t have good edge support. However, all three mattresses presented here performed better than average. Douglas Original earned a very good edge support score of 7.8/10. Endy scored slightly higher for edge support with an excellent score of 8.5/10. The Polysleep had the highest edge support of the three with an outstanding score of 9.0/10.

You can sit on the edge or sleep farther away from the middle of any of these mattresses without much sinkage.

Motion Isolation

Foam mattresses typically have good motion isolation, which ensures you can still get a good night’s rest despite a restless partner. All 3 of the mattresses we tested had excellent motion isolation.

The Endy earned an excellent motion isolation score of 8.7/10, while The Polysleep scored the lowest of the three with a motion isolation score of 8.1/10. Douglas Original scored in between Endy and Polysleep for motion isolation at 8.3/10. You shouldn’t notice most movement from the other side of the bed on any of these mattresses.

Bounce

Bounce is a matter of personal preference. It measures how quickly a mattress bounces back to its original shape after pressure is applied.

If you’re a light sleeper who wakes up easily at night, a mattress with low bounce is a must. The Endy has a bounce score of 6.8/10, which is above-average for a foam mattress. The Polysleep scored much lower at 3.8/10. However, Douglas has the lowest bounce score of all three mattresses at just 3.1/10. If you are a light sleeper or enjoy a less responsive mattress, Douglas might be right for you.

Cooling Features

Foam mattresses often incorporate advanced cooling features to help you avoid overheating while you sleep. However, The Polysleep scored just 1.8/10 for cooling features as a result of its open-cell foam and breathable cover. The Endy scored similarly but slightly higher thanks to its gel-infused open-cell foam and breathable cover, earning a cooling feature score of 2.1/10.

In comparison, Douglas Original’s cooling technologies earned the mattress a cooling feature score of 4.2/10. Douglas’s moisture-wicking CoolSense® cover, layer of ecoLight® cooling gel foam, and layer of breathable Elastex® foam all work together to give you a cool, comfortable night’s sleep.

Mattress Construction

The Endy, The Polysleep, and Douglas Original are all foam mattresses containing 3 interior layers for comfort, transition, and support.

The Endy Mattress Layers

  • Layer 1: This mattress’s comfort layer is 2” of Endy Comfort Foam. Endy describes this proprietary material as being temperature-insensitive, so its firmness level doesn’t change in hot or cold weather. The polyurethane foam is open-cell for breathability and infused with cooling gel.
  • Layer 2: Endy’s transition layer is 3” of polyurethane foam, which promotes pressure-point relief and reduces motion transfer.
  • Layer 3: The support layer of this mattress is 5” of high-density polyurethane foam to ensure you feel well supported while you sleep.

The Polysleep Mattress Layers

  • Layer 1: The top (comfort) layer is 2.5" of Polysleep's open-cell viscoelastic hybrid foam. This layer contains the mattress's hypoallergenic and antimicrobial properties, but it's unknown how this layer's composition makes it that way. Polysleep does not specify the composition or treatment that enables these properties.
  • Layer 2: The middle (transition) layer is 2" of foam. This layer prevents you from feeling the denser support layer beneath.
  • Layer 3: The bottom (support) layer is 5.5" of high-density foam. This layer gives the mattress most of its bulk and prevents you from sinking too far into it while you're lying down.

Douglas Original, The Endy, and The Polysleep all feature machine-washable covers.

The Polysleep features a breathable mattress cover made of Spandex, polyviscose and polyester, whereas The Endy has a moisture-wicking cover made of polyester and spandex. Douglas uses a moisture-wicking CoolSense® cover made with plant-based Infinitex™ fibres, which actively keeps you dry throughout the night and cool while you sleep. All 3 mattresses feature removable and machine-washable covers.

Delivery, Sleep Trial & Returns

Note: The Polysleep mattress is no longer available for purchase through the brand’s website. It is now sold exclusively at select approved third-party brick-and-mortar locations. Shipping information and applicable trial or return policies will vary by retailer.

Both Douglas and Endy ship using FedEx, while Polysleep uses UPS and FedEx. All three companies may charge additional fees if your mattress needs to be shipped to a remote location.

Endy, Polysleep, and Douglas all have similar shipping timelines. Including dispatch and delivery time, Douglas will arrive at your doorstep in 2–10 business days. The Endy will arrive in 1–8 business days, and The Polysleep will arrive in 4–9 business days.

Following the bed-in-a-box business model, all three companies will ship their mattresses rolled and compressed in cardboard boxes. The mattresses are protected with two layers of heavy-duty plastic. After unboxing, all three mattresses should expand to their full size in a matter of minutes.

READ MORE: How to unbox a mattress

Endy and Polysleep only come with industry-standard 100-night sleep trials and 10-year warranties. Endy, however, offers the option to extend your warranty by another five years if you sign up for their email list. Douglas, on the other hand, offers a much longer 365-night sleep trial and 20-year warranty by default.

Douglas, Endy, and Polysleep all offer return pickup service, but only Douglas and Endy will give you a full refund. Polysleep will deduct an administrative fee of $89.95 plus tax before issuing a refund.

When it comes to customer reviews on third-party review sites like the Better Business Bureau and Trustpilot, Endy is rated “A+” with the BBB, however, their customer review rating is just 1/5 stars. The company is rated “Poor” on Trustpilot with a 2.5/5 customer review rating. Sleep Country Canada, which owns Endy, has a customer review score of just 1.28/5 stars on BBB, and is rated “Poor” on Trustpilot. Polysleep does not have a BBB profile, but has a Trustpilot profile with zero reviews and a 3.5/5 customer review rating.

In comparison, Douglas has an “Excellent” Trustpilot rating with a 4.9/5 customer review rating, and its parent company, GoodMorning.com, has an “A+” rating with the Better Business Bureau with a customer review rating of 4.89/5.

Firmness

Simba 2500 is considered a medium-firm mattress with a score of 6.1/10. Douglas was also categorized as medium-firm with its firmness score of 6.7/10. Both of these mattresses will suit most sleepers, whether they sleep on their side, stomach, or back.

READ MORE: What firmness level is right for you?

Edge Support

Foam mattresses aren’t typically known for strong edge support compared to their hybrid counterparts. Douglas, however, earned a very good edge support score of 7.8/10.

Simba 2500 also has an above-average edge support score of 6.0/10. While you shouldn’t have any trouble staying on the bed when you lie or sit on the side of either mattress, you may prefer Douglas for a bit more support if you often sit or sleep near the edge of the bed.

Motion Isolation

If you’re a light sleeper or share your bed with a partner, kids, or pets, you’ll need a mattress with good motion isolation. A mattress that absorbs movement will allow you to get a comfortable and restful night’s sleep.

Douglas earned an excellent motion isolation score of 8.3/10. Simba scored lower but still had a very good score at 7.7/10.

Bounce

Bounce in mattresses is a preference. Some sleepers prefer a bouncier, more responsive sleep surface, while others prefer low bounce in conjunction with high motion isolation. Simba scored a 3.9/10 for bounce, which is below average for a hybrid. Douglas also has a below-average bounce score of 3.1/10 that is a bit more typical of an all-foam mattress. Both mattresses will suit sleepers looking for a slower response time from their bed.

Cooling Features

Douglas Original and Simba 2500 both offer cooling features to help sleepers stay cool and comfortable throughout the night. Simba heavily promotes its cooling features, and earned a cooling features score of 4.0/10. These features include its breathable cover, layers of open-cell and perforated foam, pocketed micro-coils, and graphite-infused foam. Simba 2500 offers these features for $2,199 for a queen size.

In comparison, the much more affordable Douglas Original earned a similar cooling features score of 4.2/10. Its moisture-wicking cover, layer of ecoLight® cooling gel foam, and layer of breathable Elastex® foam provide a similar level of cooling for a lower price of $799 for a queen size.

Mattress Construction

Douglas is a foam mattress containing 3 layers, while Simba 2500 is a hybrid mattress featuring 4 layers.

Douglas Original features a machine-washable mattress cover made of polyester, spandex, and plant-based Infinitex™ fibres that draw moisture away from the surface to offset any heat-trapping. The cover materials give it moisture-wicking properties, helping you stay dry and comfortable throughout the night.

Simba 2500 Mattress Layers

  • Layer 1: The top layer is 1" of graphite-infused foam. This layer contours around your body and helps to relieve pressure. The graphite infusion helps to dissipate heat, keeping your sleep cool.
  • Layer 2: The second layer is 1" of micro-coils. These cone-shaped springs are individually pocketed and encased in a layer of edge support foam along the mattress's sidewalls.
  • Layer 3: The third layer is 3.5" of polyurethane foam that incorporates Simba's "Edge Lift" technology. This layer is explained as creating more edge support, but Simba doesn’t provide details to explain how it does this.
  • Layer 4: The bottom layer is 6.5" of support foam. This dense foam layer gives the mattress most of its bulk and keeps you from sinking in too deep, and has perforations to increase airflow.

Advertised as being breathable and hypoallergenic, Simba’s mattress cover is made from polyester, polypropylene, and elastane. Despite having a zipper, the cover also isn’t machine washable—you should spot-clean any spills or stains.

Pick the mattress with a cooling, machine-washable cover.

Delivery, Sleep Trial & Returns

Simba 2500 may be ordered directly from Simba Sleep’s Canadian website or via Sleep Country Canada; however, shipping on both sites is handled by Sleep Country. The mattress should reach your doorstep in 3–10 business days, including dispatch and delivery time.

Douglas uses FedEx to ship their mattresses, and ships by ground from Ontario or Alberta. You should receive your Douglas mattress in 2–10 business days, including dispatch and delivery time. Both mattresses ship in a box, with free shipping to most locations in Canada and applicable fees for some orders made to remote locations.

You have a 100-night sleep trial to decide whether to keep Simba 2500. If you decide to return it, you’ll need to bring the mattress back to the store yourself, as Sleep Country doesn’t provide return pickup. Sleep Country also doesn’t offer refunds on returned mattresses, and you can only exchange your mattress for in-store credit minus a $65 exchange fee. If you exchange Simba 2500 for a more expensive mattress, you must pay the price difference.

Douglas, on the other hand, offers a 365-night sleep trial. This is one of the longest trials available in Canada. Douglas offers free return pickup and will issue a full refund within the sleep trial period if you wish to return the mattress.

Douglas also provides a 20-year warranty so you can love your mattress longer. Simba 2500 comes with an industry-standard 10-year warranty, which covers manufacturing defects only. It doesn’t cover normal wear and tear or incidental damage. This warranty is fulfilled by Sleep Country.

Couches du matelas Endy

Couches du matelas Casper

Hybrid Mattress with Limited Features

Hybrid Mattress With a Higher-Than-Average Price

S&S Organic is a hybrid mattress that features latex foam, pocketed coils, and good edge support and motion isolation, as well as a 365-night sleep trial and 15-year warranty. This organic mattress is made in Canada and the medium-firm version retails at $1,400 for a queen size.

The mattress comes with occasional free sleep accessories during sales, such as pillows.

In comparison, competing hybrid mattress Logan & Cove Choice is priced more affordably at $999 for a queen size, and also offers a 365-night sleep trial and a 15-year warranty. Logan & Cove comes with zoned support, multiple advanced cooling features, and a free bedding bundle with purchase, which includes a mattress protector, sheet set, pillow(s), and pillow protector(s).

Canadian Hybrid with Zoned-Support

Endy Hybrid, made by popular bed-in-a-box brand Endy, is the company’s hybrid model featuring layers of coils and foam. Endy is a Canadian brand that was founded in 2015 and acquired by Sleep Country in 2018.

The Endy Hybrid mattress is available in 3 different firmness options: firm, medium-firm, and plush. We purchased the medium-firm model for this review, which retails at $1,295 for a queen size. The firm option costs the same as the medium-firm, but the plush model costs an extra $200.

Endy Hybrid earned an excellent edge support score and above-average motion isolation score. It comes with an industry-standard 100-night sleep trial and 10-year default warranty, which can be extended to 15 years by registering as an Endy VIP. Sleepers looking for a longer sleep trial and default warranty may want to consider a brand like Logan & Cove instead.

Canadian Hybrid Mattress With No Sleep Trial

Dreamstar Hilton is a Euro-top hybrid mattress with a medium-firm feel from Canadian mattress brand Dreamstar Bedding Ltd. Its 4-layer construction includes memory foam and a support layer of steel pocketed coils. It has very good edge support and motion isolation, along with a very high level of bounce.

Dreamstar is reasonably priced for a Euro-top hybrid mattress at $988 for a queen size. That said, it doesn't come with a risk-free sleep trial, which gives you the chance to return your mattress for a full refund. Dreamstar also only comes with an industry-standard 10-year warranty, and some customers have expressed difficulties getting Dreamstar to honour warranty claims.

In comparison, hybrid mattresses like Logan & Cove Choice offer more advanced cooling and comfort features for a similar price of $999 for a queen size. Logan & Cove also comes with a generous 365-night sleep trial, a 15-year warranty, and a free bedding bundle—none of which are available with Dreamstar.

Firm Mattress Made in Mexico

DreamCloud Premier is a hybrid mattress with a firm feel made by DreamCloud Sleep, a subsidiary of Resident Home LLC. It’s available in Canada on DreamCloud’s website, or in-store at Leon’s or The Brick locations. This mattress features a Euro-top construction, good edge support, and good motion isolation.

DreamCloud Premier is available at $1,499 for a queen size. However, Premier lacks features often found in other hybrid mattresses, such as advanced cooling technologies and multi-zone support. It’s also much firmer than advertised, which may make it uncomfortable to sleep on.

In comparison, competing mattress Logan & Cove Frontier offers zoned support and more cooling capabilities for an even lower price at $1,299 for a queen size. Logan & Cove's parent company also has better online reviews than DreamCloud, who is rated "Poor" on Trustpilot and has almost 300 complaints filed through the Better Business Bureau.
